I love this because Ren's been on a big hip-hop/rap binge for the album but he is so much more and no one watching this can say he's genre specific. His genre is REN. Plus, it's almost Halloween and this is a great "horror" party video. It's both spooky and somehow upbeat...lol.

I did a aerial hoop routine for this at Halloween. I was the evil overlord and I had 12 kids as little werewolves. The parents hated me as they heard this in repeat for 9 weeks

Ren has suffered insomnia and felt alienated by both his talents and his illness. Ren always felt different and nonconformity is seen as crazy and threatening. When society puts you in that mould. It is better to embrace the freedom of the outsider. Where you can indulge in the fascinating glamour of the darkness. The power in being reviled.

I think this is a sleeper hit as well. I enjoyed the reaction. Also, while it is the internet and I'm not surprised, I'm sorry people can't be more kind in sharing their knowledge and filling in the blanks with what they know about an artist, their intentions, and their messages.

Apart from all the obvious references, I think this was to do with his illnesses, mental and physical, and people in a similar situation. Unable to go out, work, socialise etc. Hidden from the 'normal' world and often awake half the night, due to physical or mental pain, insomnia, or simply unusual sleep patterns, due to not following the usual rhythms and routines, that most people follow. Following the beat of a very different drum, as it were. Although that phrase has other connotations too, of course.
I could be wrong but that's the major theme I got from this. :)

Its....😅 I love ren. It's a good song and the video cracks me up everytime. It's a cute homage to horror and a few movies in particular that are obvious. Surgeon ren is my favorite part, petting the heart. It's just kind of quirky and catchy. I always liked it.

The "instrument" that comes in at the end of most phrases is actually the word "drum" that's been squashed and compressed and distorted to the point where it hardly sounds like a voice any more.
This is actually one of my faves of his tracks, just a hair behind The Hunger. ❤‍🔥
