The Edge is probably one of the best minimalist guitarists. What he plays has a point and meaning and there's no reason to swat a fly with a sledgehammer, so to speak. Check out "With or Without You" next. Heck, check out the whole Joshua Tree album. Cheers....

@@KozmikZootz Edge himself has said that if you take away all his effects, he's doing something very simple. He's just making all the right choices for a song, and yeah, it's simple. He just makes it sound like so much more. He talks about this in the documentary, It Might Get Loud.
Bono, The Edge, Larry and Adam!! U2 One love. One blood. One life. You’ve got to do what you should. One life. With each other, Sisters, brothers. Love the whole Rob Squad Family you guys have built and continue to build and grow. 🔥🤙
They did a version of this song with Mary J Blige, and I completely love it. She sings with so much emotion, it really makes me feel the song even more.
I agree. To add an extra comment, with a personal opinion.. the Duet Version with Mary J. Blidge is WAYYY better. One of only a few songs.. I enjoy from this band. But..I really appreciate this song's lyrics. I recognize.. the Revised Version would not exist.. without the Original.
You're all wrong. The studio recording that ended up on Mary's album was horrible. However, the original live performance ft. Mary as a guest- the one that led to their official collaboration- was phenomenal. It was an occasional performance by the two done specially for the live Hurricane Katrina Relief telethon. It was truly like going to a gospel church and getting a religious experience. The entire gospel choir was made up of just one woman: Mary J. Blige. TH-cam search it. (It's 4min 43seconds) U2's live version at Slane Castle is an incredibly close second, but nothing beats the original version on Achtung Baby!.
This is, primarily, a breakup song. In fact, this was my divorce song back in 2011. After 23 years, we realized that we "ran a good company" together, but we were not the same. "Did I ask too much? More than a lot? Well you gave me nothin', now that's all I've got". "You say love is a temple... love the higher law. You asked me to enter, and then you made me crawl, and I can't be holding on to what you got... When all you got is hurt". What a song. What a song.
I found this quote and it is about splitting up. “The song is a bit twisted,” Bono explained in Neil McCormick’s U2 By U2, “which is why I could never figure out why people want it at their weddings. I have certainly met a hundred people who’ve had it at their weddings. I tell them, ‘Are you mad? It’s about splitting up!’” I never really listened to the lyrics just enjoyed the vibe.
So…. U2 Great band. Great! Great, band. Many years ago, we had tickets to see them in Houston. It’s a 3 hour drive. Looooong story short- we were 2 hours in and realized that we didn’t have the tickets. Yikes! Many phone calls, a rendezvous in Victoria (Texas), many thanks and Houston traffic- we get to the hotel, shower, dress, go! We get to the stadium, park, show tix, run up the ramp, grab a drink, find our section, and the lights go out. Whoop!!! We made it!!!!! Such an iconic band! You guys picked a choice song! Much love!
So glad you finally got back to U2! Three songs in, and SO MANY more to go. I think you'd love "Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For", "Mysterious Ways", or maybe even their duet with the legendary B.B. King, "When Love Comes To Town". Also... any chance you can get back to some INXS? You need to hear "Need You Tonight", "Suicide Blonde", and "The One Thing". Another suggestion - you've done "One" by Metallica, and now "One" by U2.... can you do "One" by the Bee Gees? :)
Definitely gotta hit INXS again. Nobody does funky dance pop that is always original like they do. I Send A Message, Original Sin, Burn For You are some of my faves.
yes, INXS! Listen Like Thieves, Mediate, Beautiful Girl, Baby Don't Cry, Don't Change... lol, i might be a little biased because i love everything they did (when Michael was still alive).💖👍
"When Love Comes to Town" with B.B. King is 🔥 I also love the U2 and Bruce Springsteen's live version of "I still Haven't Found What I Am Looking For." Two really amazing singers at their best.
One of the best songs ever. Please review. “New Years Day”, “With or Without You” and “Mysterious Ways”. Thanks for your reviews and discovering so much great music.
"Pride (In the Name of Love)", *With Or Without You" and "All I Want Is You" are all slower songs by U2 that showcase Bono's voice. All three are songs that are so good, you get chills from listening.
The song is heavily based on the band members going through a tough time together and thinking about breaking up. This song came out of that difficult time and you can feel the pain in the words. In my opinion, one of the best songs...ever! ❤️🎸 Keep smiling 🤘 🙂
Guys, you have GOT TO check out their song All I Want Is You from Rattle & Hum, it's not only the best thing they've ever done but it really is their DEFINITIVE ballad, it is a thing of heatbreaking beauty and it's just MAGNIFICENT.
I never get sick of this song. It is so well-written: the lyrics are poetic but also hit you right in the chest, Bono’s voice…it gives me chills every time. I think you guys would also like “With Or Without You.” They also re-did this song with Mary J. Blige and that version is pretty epic in its own right. In the U2 concerts I’ve been to, Bono changes the line to “Have you come here to play Jesus to the lepers in your bed?” I mean….dang.
If I recall, the song is derived from a meeting Bono had with a man dying of AIDS when it was in its early years who challenged the way people thought about / pitied / excluded HIV+ people. In that context, the lyrics take on a whole new dimension eg “You act like you never had love, and you want me to go without” And especially “You say love is a temple, love a higher law. You ask me to enter, but then you make me crawl Well, I can’t be holding on to what you’ve got When all you’ve got is hurt” Heartbreaking, attitude-changing, life-shaping words for us at that time.
@@stuartmorgan1770 I heard it was about an AIDS victim who was dying and his father. I always pictured the young man in a hospital bed and his father finally coming to visit. I think Bono said it wasn't but it sure fits lyrically. My younger brother died of AIDS and it was horrible watching him wasting away and dying. He wasn't rejected by family but his friends quit coming around, mostly out of fear. He was given contaminated blood after an accident and wasn't gay or a drug user, but there was a perception that all AIDS victims brought it on themselves.
@@thondomain You may be right about the father. I’m not sure - so long ago, I’d have to research it. I’m so sorry to hear about your brother. And yes, that experience of blame and rejection instead of tolerance and love was so prevalent. BTW there is a really excellent and heart-breaking UK TV drama series called “It’s a Sin” that explores the different reactions of different people to the gay community and AIDS victims in the UK when the disease first emerged It will challenge and break your heart but it is is soooooo good. With this lyric I guess the point was kind of - that is not how we treat people. with, say, cancer. And so “we’re one, but we’re not the same…” I so wish the world could almost go back to that time when we at least tried to listen to each other.
Bono the lyricist is SO often SO good. I think, though, he wrote some really awful-sounding poem during covid for some occasion. I cringed so hard reading it, lol!
U2 is one of the most unfairly hated on bands. They're a GREAT band! Legendary, even. People hate U2 because they hear other people saying they hate U2. And those OTHER people who they're following.. hate U2 for that same reason. It's become hip to hate U2.
@SuperWhofan1 They've made WAY too many great(not 'good') songs like Sunday Bloody Sunday , New Years Day(album version, not video or greatest hits)Like A Song, I Will Follow, Exit(as underrated as Secret Journey(The Police), entire Joshua Tree album, Mysterious Ways, One, Vertigo, for anyone reasonable to hate on them. And the most parroted answer is "Oh, that Bono is just so smug", da DUGG that got to do with the sounds we're hearing?? Asking them, not you.
As an Irish man I can honestly say the hate is not on the band but more on Bono. His ego is incredible. He really p*sses people off with his arrogance. Their music is a different matter.
Oh I love the usual U2 sound, with The Edge creating that wonderful guitar delay sound using dotted 8ths . But I also love their ballads, like this masterpiece.
I love that they totally got the song. The band was actually unimpressed that people played it as a wedding song. They felt people totally missed the point of the song. Excellent that you guys got it!
@@mdanam The first time I heard "Desire" was on my alarm clock radio when it woke me up. I remember thinking "That's a weird ring that keeps coming in during the chorus." 🙂
Bono's voice conveys emotion & longing in a way that few singers can match. Combined with the otherworldly guitar prowess of Edge and the amazing talent of the rest of the band make U2 legendary. A few more of their songs I'd suggest include "Pride (In the Name of Love)" (about Dr. King), "Where the Streets Have No Name", "With or Without You", "I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For", "New Year's Day", "Bullet the Blue Sky", "Seconds", "Ordinary Love", "Bad", "I Will Follow", "Please", "Mysterious Ways", "The Unforgettable Fire", "Breathe", "Until the End of the World", "Desire", "When Love Comes to Town" (with BB King), "Drowning Man", "Sweetest Thing" & "Van Diemen's Land"'... just to name a few (there are so many to choose from).
There is a song, "Sometimes you can't make it on your own" Bono wrote when his father was dying. So meaningful and his vocal is tremendous. I highly recommend it!!
U2 has such a great catalog. You definitely need to check out their material from their Joshua Tree album. " I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For", "With or Without You", " Where The Streets Have No Name"
This song saved the band from disbanding. One is a out the struggles the band was going though at time, but I think it's also a universal message. My favorite album from U2 is The Joshua Tree, all the songs on that album are great.
I'm SO HAPPY you reacted to this song, my absolute favorite from U2. And I'm so glad you realized that he's not necessarily talking about a romantic relationship between two people. Back in the 90s, the members of the band were going through some rough waters and they were contemplating breaking up. Bono sat down in the recording studio and sang this song. It re-energized them, and the rest is history. For more great U2, check out "Mysterious Ways" and "Angel of Harlem." Also "The Sweetest Thing" -- be sure to watch the official video! But honestly, you can't go wrong with any of their songs. They're an amazing band.
Angel of Harlem and Sweetest Thing are excellent choices. But if you want a fun video to watch, look for Where the Streets Have No Name where they play live in downtown LA, if you thought that U2 was hype, this video will show you they were the real deal. Walk On is another good song.
This is a great band. One of my favorite bands. You should listen to Mysterious Ways, Where the Streets have No Name and I Still haven't found what I'm looking for
“One” is one of my top 5 U2 songs. The music beat is great but the lyrics are brilliant-“Did you come here for forgiveness? Did you come to raise the dead? Did you come here to play Jesus to the lepers in your head? Did I ask too much? More than a lot? You gave me nothing now it’s all I got.” Amazing lyrics. Love this song and love this band. I got to see them twice in concert and it was different than just seeing a fantastic live band performance. Seeing U2 back in their heyday was an “EXPERIENCE”! (My younger sister was such a huge fan that she saw them concert 16 times!)
I was 15 years old and managed to get tickets to the Joshua Tree tour show in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. I bunch of kids from my high rented a school bus to drive us and bring us home (more than half of us didn't have our licenses yet!). What an experience...first real concert, and on my own with friends from school! What a night, listening the crowd singing together after the encores ended. The echoes of thousands of voices, still gives me shivers of emotion. One of my favourite and heartbreaking sings by U2 is from Rattle and Hum; "All I want is You". Beautiful and heart rending at the same time, especially the music video.
Absolutely!!! And when you think about the year it came out and how much competition there was in 1991, one of the greatest years for music ever-- Nevermind, Ten, Metallic's Black Album, Blood Sugar Sex Magic, Out of Time, Use Your Illusion, BadMotorFinger, Temple of the Dog, Into the Great Wide Open, Girlfriend, Gish, and so much more-- that just tells you how amazing Achtung Baby is to be able to stand out among so many other classics!!!
U2 donated the proceeds from the single version of One to AIDS research. They recorded the song in Berlin and part of the inspiration was the unification of Germany, although the breakup of Edge's first marriage was also said to be an influence. It was not about Bono's own marriage; he and Ali Stewart celebrated their 40th anniversary this year.
OMG! This is one of my favorite songs. This song just makes me think of my wife. It’s not that she likes it, it’s not like it’s our song. But the imagery brings your loved ones to heart. Thanks J&A for doing this one tonight. (For you comic book fans, they used the lyrics in the wedding of Cyclops and Marvel Girl. Geek trivia.)
For what it's worth: I don't blame you Janet, but if you haven't seen them in the last decade I'd like to warn you that they aren't what they used to be. I've seen them live several times over the years and I'd rather not anymore after the last concert I went to. Everything is off. Idk. Ever since that bike crash in NYC Bono hasn't been the same and the band altogether has lost their energy and spirit. They're still talented, but Bono's voice has dropped off significant and I think they're increasingly using backing tracks for both the vocals and instrumentals. Their stage performances are more gimmicky, and their newer music has taken a dive. Also, they've seemed to have betrayed all they stood for over the years and on stage they tell you their music is about things it was never about before. Then there are breaks in the performance when it gets to be about corporate sponsored charities, and they solicit participation from the audience on the spot. It's hollow and I felt duped for attending the concert. Just my two cents. If you do go, I wish you all the best. Visiting Ireland, whether Dublin or anywhere else, I think you'll have a great time. I highly recommend going to the pubs with live music, especially traditional Irish music. Also, if you're anywhere near the bridges at night in Dublin, keep your eye out for performances on the bridges or on either side of the river. Often there will be dance performances.
U2's performance at Live Aid in 1985 gets overshadowed by Queen but to my it's equally as good and might even be better. I said to me so don't crucify me. The song Bad was so good in that concert. U2 is one of those bands who not only write great songs but they back it up on stage and put on an amazing show with how good they sound!
Oh yesssss!!! Love U2!!! Love the colab with Mary J Blige also.. primo I got to see them 2 nights in a row at sun devil stadium, a lifetime ago, ( i.e. before I ever birthed my grown ass children!). AMAZING!! SO MANY SONGS OF THEIR'S.. CHECK OUT EARLY " I WILL FOLLOW "!!💞💕💗🙌🙌🙌 Also love their song " one tree hill " & of course all the popular ones.. . " Beautiful day ".. so many , many great songs. Elevate!!! Yessss
This, track is among my favorite U2 songs along with "Discoteque", "Numb", and "Hold me, thrill me, kiss me, kill me". All are completely different styles.
You should look at (if there's such on youtube) "Bad" (live) by U2. It really shows Bono's power and just how energetic their shows are. Oh-0 Look it up as a Live Aid performance. Awesome song. :)
I love U2 especially their work from the 70's and 80s. IMO this song and the album "Achtung Baby" are the pinnacle of their work. This album is phenomenal and, in my opinion, just as good if not better than "The Joshua Tree" which is another fantastic album. When "The Eagles" came out with "Hotel California" even they knew that they would never be able to produce anything near as good anymore. And so, I believe U2 either consciously or subconsciously set out to reinvent themselves and went in a direction that had them evolve to stay relevant. Understandable, but Bono, The Edge, Adam Clayton, and Larry Mullin no longer have that raw energy that had a bit of punk, a bit of new wave, some rock, some pop and even some blues infused into their sound. Again, understandable I just wish I could have my cake and eat it too when it comes to music from the great U2.
@@JohnJohnson-mo4bn You got me, I thought "Boy" came out in late 79 but it was actually 80 and the songs I remember are "I Will Follow" and "Electric Company" Forgive my aging mind.

U2 with BB King - "When Love comes to Town" ... is definitely one to check out.. also "Where the Streets have No Name" was a live video they tried to do a quiet video shoot o a rooftop.. and the word got it.. the video is a fun time
Definitely all I want is you!! Edge’s guitar, Bono voice, so different! Love their songs about the unrest in Ireland, and Bono’s love for humanity and his wife!!!❤️
@@K31011 absolutely disagree. The original of such a great song can never be irrelevant because of a cover or new version. The Mary J version is great but the original is better.
When U2 hit the US, and the world, their music was.... revolutionary. And it was amazingly new. They became the Beatles/Pink Floyd/Rolling Stones/etc for so many people. I remember my first U2 concert. There were nearly 100,000 people at the old JFK stadium in Philly. My brother and I went because none of our friends could make their minds about going, which we ran into when the concert was 1/2 through. The music and atmosphere was totally awesome and peaceful, calm, friendly, and you related to everyone else there because we were feeling/experiencing the same emotions. Yes, please...add some more U2!
This is one of their most emotionally beautiful songs. They also did a collaboration with singer Mary J. Blige for another rendition of it. It’s totally worth a listen- she just brings tons of soul and emotion to the performance.
You have to do them live. I would highly recommend All I Want is you/Where the streets have no name Live at Slane Castle 2001. When Bono starts keening for his father in the transition between songs whose funeral he attended earlier that day is chilling.
One of most well crafted songs I can remember. A masterpiece. You mentioned U2 having different styles, which is an understatement. For classic clean upbeat U2 try Pride (in the name of Love), New Year's Day, Bullet the Blue Sky (the entire Joshua Tree album is great); for more groovy try Mysterious Ways, Elevation, Party Girl (on the Under a Blood Red Sky - live at red Rocks) and God part II; For another ballad try With or Without You; Another GREAT live track from Under a Blood Red Sky is 11 o'clock Tick Tock - super underrated.
I wish you would react to a live performance of Buddy Rich , called , The Impossible Drum Solo. He was one of , if not the best drummer to have ever lived. He was known for his technique and speed. He was also a band leader. Phil Collins was influenced by Buddy Rich and followed his advice on drumming. This performance will leave you speechless. Make sure to watch the video of him playing , The Impossible Drum Solo. Well worth your time even if you don’t react to it. It has been said that he had a heart attack during this performance, but was able to get through it before being taken to the hospital. Incredible performance. Thanks guys!
I have been hoping for the duet, too! They react to bands and singers they were not familiar with so I wonder if Mary J Blige is too well known by one or the other of "the Squad?"
seen U2 live a ton of times but once - at Wembley Stadium - their performance of ONE was almost like a religious experience it was so transcendent in the call to love and live as one people... while 72,000 voices sang along with Bono... a beautiful, astonishing, emotional and heartfelt song which - as rock n roll legends as U2 unquestionably are - is so foundationally gospel in its writing and performance... ♥
I saw U2 in 1987 for their "Joshua Tree" tour. They had 2 opening acts for the concert with one being Los Lobos who had the hit "Labamba." Los Lobos was late to the show so the announcer says they found another band that will play a couple songs while we wait. Only thing is that they are a country band. The band takes the stage, and starts playing country music, and it's U2 in disguise. They played 2 or 3 songs and left the stage never saying a word who it really was. Los Lobos finally played their set, then U2 came out and rocked the stadium. Probably one of the coolest things I've ever seen at a concert.

Very intricate in his minimalism though
@@KozmikZootz Edge himself has said that if you take away all his effects, he's doing something very simple. He's just making all the right choices for a song, and yeah, it's simple. He just makes it sound like so much more. He talks about this in the documentary, It Might Get Loud.
“You ask me to enter, but then you make me crawl, and I can’t be holding on to what you got when all you got is hurt”
Absolutely perfect writing.
Bono, The Edge, Larry and Adam!! U2

Love the whole Rob Squad Family you guys have built and continue to build and grow. 🔥🤙

They did a version of this song with Mary J Blige, and I completely love it. She sings with so much emotion, it really makes me feel the song even more.
That version was awful. Her caterwauling completely murdered the subtle beauties and heartbreak lurking within the song and its lyrics. Terrible.
You must watch u2s live from slane castle version...marry j was decent but..
(It's 4min 43seconds)
U2's live version at Slane Castle is an incredibly close second, but nothing beats the original version on Achtung Baby!.
Most definitely..and I like it better..
Well, kind of. It's about a gay son alienated from his father telling the father that he has AIDS.
@@Windupchronic it’s actually about the German reunification according to Bono.
@@avaairvine Then he's changed what it's about, because my info came from an interview he gave back when the album came out.
@@Windupchronic U2 are a Christian band so I doubt this is true
I found this quote and it is about splitting up. “The song is a bit twisted,” Bono explained in Neil McCormick’s U2 By U2, “which is why I could never figure out why people want it at their weddings. I have certainly met a hundred people who’ve had it at their weddings. I tell them, ‘Are you mad? It’s about splitting up!’” I never really listened to the lyrics just enjoyed the vibe.
My all-time favorite song by U2. One of my all-time favorite songs overall.
My favourite rock band, I’m glad to see you playing their music!
Mine too!
Running to stand still - thats the one
Absolutely amazing band !! Legendary !
So…. U2
Great band.
Much love!
Yes! Please do more U2 -- maybe something from each of their albums? They have grown through the 80s, 90s, 2000s and beyond!
This is one of my favorite U2 songs. Bono is such a treasure. Such a good person.
Maybe they should just do “Rattle and Hum” on the movie channel. Two birds.
"When Love Comes to Town" with B.B. King is 🔥 I also love the U2 and Bruce Springsteen's live version of "I still Haven't Found What I Am Looking For." Two really amazing singers at their best.
When Love Comes To Town is such an underrated gem. Both Edge's and BB's guitar work is sublime.
U2 is amazing and this song is so incredible! Bono has a voice that cannot be beat. The emotion in his voice and the lyrics are unmatched.
Their performance of Bad at Live Aid is probably the greatest live performance ever.
Definitely one of them. I was transfixed watching it on MTV in my friend's living room.
That performance took them from a successful band to worldwide superstars.
Don't be ridiculous
Queen
One of the best songs ever. Please review. “New Years Day”, “With or Without You” and “Mysterious Ways”. Thanks for your reviews and discovering so much great music.
"Pride (In the Name of Love)", *With Or Without You" and "All I Want Is You" are all slower songs by U2 that showcase Bono's voice. All three are songs that are so good, you get chills from listening.
The song is heavily based on the band members going through a tough time together and thinking about breaking up. This song came out of that difficult time and you can feel the pain in the words. In my opinion, one of the best songs...ever! ❤️🎸
Keep smiling 🤘 🙂
Guys, you have GOT TO check out their song All I Want Is You from Rattle & Hum, it's not only the best thing they've ever done but it really is their DEFINITIVE ballad, it is a thing of heatbreaking beauty and it's just MAGNIFICENT.
One of my very favorite U2 songs! If y’all haven’t done it, do “Where the Streets Have No Name “ or “I Still Haven’t Found what I’m Looking For.”
"Pride (In The Name Of Love)" is a GREAT song. Very emotional as well.
Jay/Amber, you'll love their "Pride (In The Name Of Love)", "Two Hearts Beat As One" and "Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For"!!!
Two Hearts Beat As One and I Will Follow were back in the day U2! I also like Bullet The Blue Sky!
"Running to Stand Still" is one of their underrated gems
Their most beautiful and spiritual song ever! U2 has an amazing library of music. Your next should be Red Hill Mining Town.
So happy you came back to more U2! My favorite is "Two Hearts Beat As One."
I love U2. If you haven't already, "Sunday Bloody Sunday " is a great song.
They already did it....the Red Rocks version
"Did you come here for forgiveness, did you come to raise the dead. Did you come to play Jesus... to the lepers in your head."
Such a great lyric.
If I recall, the song is derived from a meeting Bono had with a man dying of AIDS when it was in its early years who challenged the way people thought about / pitied / excluded HIV+ people. In that context, the lyrics take on a whole new dimension eg
“You act like you never had love, and you want me to go without”
And especially
“You say love is a temple, love a higher law.
You ask me to enter, but then you make me crawl
Well, I can’t be holding on to what you’ve got
When all you’ve got is hurt”
Heartbreaking, attitude-changing, life-shaping words for us at that time.
So right!
Bono the lyricist is SO often SO good. I think, though, he wrote some really awful-sounding poem during covid for some occasion. I cringed so hard reading it, lol!
I told you guys!! Thank you so much. My favorite band by far.❤
U2 is one of the most unfairly hated on bands. They're a GREAT band! Legendary, even. People hate U2 because they hear other people saying they hate U2. And those OTHER people who they're following.. hate U2 for that same reason. It's become hip to hate U2.
It's part of the international right wing conspiracy to discredit liberal or politically active bands
It’s jealously! They have had so much success, others have to hate.
U2 "Bad" from Live Aid. They were already a big band but this performance launched them to superstardom status!
Magic to hear this outdoors in a stadium on a warm evening
This has always been one of my favorite songs. I’d put it in the top 5 most beautiful rock songs of all time. Thank you for bringing this one to us!
80s U2 is classic, but 90s U2 has some of my favorite songs.
I'm not a big U2 fan but Achtung Baby is one of my all-time favorite albums. It's fantastic from start to finish.
Oh I love the usual U2 sound, with The Edge creating that wonderful guitar delay sound using dotted 8ths . But I also love their ballads, like this masterpiece.
Thank you so much for listening to U2. They are fantastic and you are correct: it is about humanity....."we've got to carry each other".
I love that they totally got the song. The band was actually unimpressed that people played it as a wedding song. They felt people totally missed the point of the song. Excellent that you guys got it!
This is a fabulous song. Deep.
This is a great ballad from U2. My suggestion for the next U2 song is "Desire." That's my favorite song of theirs.
I still remember the first time I heard that on the radio before the album was released. I still think of that moment every time I hear it
@@mdanam The first time I heard "Desire" was on my alarm clock radio when it woke me up.
King), "Where the Streets Have No Name", "With or Without You", "I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For", "New Year's Day", "Bullet the Blue Sky", "Seconds", "Ordinary Love", "Bad", "I Will Follow", "Please", "Mysterious Ways", "The Unforgettable Fire", "Breathe", "Until the End of the World", "Desire", "When Love Comes to Town" (with BB King), "Drowning Man", "Sweetest Thing" & "Van Diemen's Land"'... just to name a few (there are so many to choose from).
and speaking of raspy voices - when are y'all gonna do some Dr. John?
"It's A Beautiful Day" is one of my favorite U2 songs, great to put on your workout playlist. Sending healing vibes to your hand!
Good taste ! Grammy wins for Song of the Year, Record of the Year & Best Rock Performance ......(2000).
"I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For" still speaks just as meaningfully to me as strongly as it did in 1987. That's powerful stuff!
This song saved the band from disbanding. One is a out the struggles the band was going though at time, but I think it's also a universal message. My favorite album from U2 is The Joshua Tree, all the songs on that album are great.
My favorite band since 1985. If you want to hear a great U2 song, you have to hear "Miracle Drug". It will leave you breathless.
Honestly, this entire album would be a great ‘full album’ to listen to. Not a clunker in the bunch. Great vid as usual! 😎👍🏼
Agreed! Amazing album. Not a bad song on it.
@@mamatay7 Excellent point
Love U2!! Started listening to them since 1980, with Gloria and the start of MTV!! Pride, the unforgettable fire, I will follow!
Not a massive fan of U2 overall, but they have done some decent stuff over the years. "Bullet The Blue Sky" is definitely one to hear. Fantastic song.
"Decent." LOL One of the biggest bands of all time... some decent stuff...

Yeah if you want a heavier, edgier Edge, lol. Bullet The Blue Sky & Wire from the Unforgettable Fire are great!
As a lifelong fan, I love watching ppl discover U2 for the first time❤
U2 donated the proceeds from the single version of One to AIDS research. They recorded the song in Berlin and part of the inspiration was the unification of Germany, although the breakup of Edge's first marriage was also said to be an influence. It was not about Bono's own marriage; he and Ali Stewart celebrated their 40th anniversary this year.
"Bad" is one of U2s best. It is SO good! Bono's vocals will give you chills! That would be a great U2 reaction.
I drove two U2 tours. Man oh live, could they draw in really big crowds. But their music is truly gorgeous and well crafted.
Seeing U2 in Dublin is a bucket list item for me. They and INXS are my favorite bands of all time.
Their collaboration with Mary J. Blige on this song is 🔥
Yessssss...I said same , before I read comments!!3💕🙌

You should look at (if there's such on youtube) "Bad" (live) by U2. It really shows Bono's power and just how energetic their shows are. Oh-0 Look it up as a Live Aid performance. Awesome song. :)
That Live Aid performance was fantastic. There were a bunch of incredible performances that day.
U2 is a long and amazing rabbit hole. Bono's collaboration with the Celtic band Clannad and the hit once-in-a-lifetime is simply exquisite "
The Fly and Ultraviolet are my favourites of the album. Achtung Baby doesn't have a bad song in it
Name 1 Song by U2 from the 70's?

Cool song! Try “Amie” by Pure Prairie League!!🤘🔥
The beauty of this song is in the slow build up throughout. Perfection.
You have to do them live. I would highly recommend All I Want is you/Where the streets have no name Live at Slane Castle 2001. When Bono starts keening for his father in the transition between songs whose funeral he attended earlier that day is chilling.
"Pride (In The Name of Love)", "I Will Follow", "Bullet The Blue Sky" "Two Hearts Beat As One", must listen!
Not only is Bono full of talent, he is an incredible human being ❤
Bono only gives One Dollar to Africa and he pockets the other 99 dollars. He is not a nice person.
They do this song with Mary J Blige and I'm telling you it's unbelievable how good it is ! Mary takes it to a whole different level !
Even better is One with Mary J Blige. Btw, why haven't you done MJB?
I have been hoping for the duet, too! They react to bands and singers they were not familiar with so I wonder if Mary J Blige is too well known by one or the other of "the Squad?"
One of my favorite rock bands, and another great song, from their large music catalog.
seen U2 live a ton of times but once - at Wembley Stadium - their performance of ONE was almost like a religious experience it was so transcendent in the call to love and live as one people... while 72,000 voices sang along with Bono...
a beautiful, astonishing, emotional and heartfelt song which - as rock n roll legends as U2 unquestionably are - is so foundationally gospel in its writing and performance...
Glad you finally got back to U2,, Pride in the name of Love, Mysterious ways, and Bullet the blue sky live in Paris is a must see, such a Phenomenal band
The live from Paris version is great. But you kind of need to hear the Rattle and Hum version first.
