    I’m a engineer and worked with all the brands. When is about small (A4/Letter format) I can confirm HP is a reliable one but also expensive to use. There are a lot of things considering when buying such a device like how much the consumables costs? What is the cost per page? There are any “compatible” consumables? There are 2 main things you change a lot: toner and drum and also the rubber rollers are wearing out and they are not cheap to replace. Brother has simple reliable equipments I recommend. Canon is not a great what and is sharing parts with others has no tradition in xerography, you should avoid Xerox and Lexmark, very expensive to run and not so reliable the new ones, Kyocera is a leader in this market but more for more expensive ones.

    My canon lide scanner scans BW docs at 600dpi, to produce a 100kb-150kb pdf file.
    My HP 426 produces a 1MB file even at 200dpi.
    The HP has an ADF so it helps! Is there anything that I can do to the HP to get smaller sized PDFs at higher dpi? Playing around with the PDF quality settings in the scan popup hasn't been successful.

    I have a question. I purchased a used Samsung ML-1670 laser printer from the thrift store and it produces horizontal lines on the pages. Would a new toner fix this problem?

    I have used an HP Color LaserJet M255dw for years and all my full-color documents have a turquoise hue. A solid cream background will print in an ombre effect across the page from turquoise to mauve. This drives me crazy! I tried to upgrade to a newer version of the printer and the print result was worse (unusable). After a few hours with product support and no solution, I returned the printer. No matter what full-color image I print (I've checked the pixel colors. It's not my artwork) it prints in hazy rainbows. First of all, does anyone know what is going on? Is it the heating element? Second, is either the Brother or Canon good for professional, full-color pages? Are their cartridges cost-effective?

      It’s because the transfer belt and lasers aren’t reliable at all and there usually isn’t a toner tray you can dump. Just went through this and after troubleshooting for days and purchasing parts it was all a waste of time and money.
      They weren’t made to last or be repaired the laser and transfer below itself is garbage.

    Just threw away $1,000 worth of HP printers. Laserjet had streaming. Fully rebuilt it, including rollers, problem persisted. $700 down the drain. Another was an officejet that had a firmware that would not accept non-hp inks without hacking the firmware. Requires a USB cable and hacked drivers to do this. Forget HP. Scum bags.

    Will the M283 use aftermarket toner or are you stuck using HP toner? Also, I have an old HP 4700 Color LaserJet Printer that does everything I need. It prints letter and legal size paper from 20# to heavy card stock. It prints double sided and I use it for printing books with color photos. I am now having problems with it, as it has around 500k copies on it and I need to get another printer. Will the M283 give me the same results? I don't need all the fancies, just a good quality color laser printer. Tried to contact HP for some information and their sales team is useless. Your help is appreciated.

    • @BestPrinters
      @BestPrinters  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The M283 is a great option. It should hold up like your older HP LaserJet pretty much all of the LaserJet printers you can use aftermarket toner on. You'll save so much by going that route.

      @@BestPrinters Thank you for your quick reply. What are your thoughts on the M283 vs the HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP 4301fdw? I can't find any comparison charts as to quality, etc., but I did read some place that the 4301 blocks the use of non-HP toner.

    • @craigvelardi7420
      @craigvelardi7420 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Wow, I just found this on the HP website, pertaining to toner usage: "This printer is intended to work only with cartridges that have a new or reused HP chip, and it uses dynamic security measures to block cartridges using a non-HP chip. Periodic firmware updates will maintain the effectiveness of these measures and block cartridges that previously worked. A reused HP chip enables the use of reused, remanufactured, and refilled cartridges."

    Can you please explain me how is it possible HP to be better than Canon, while This HP that you mention uses the same exact printing engine with CANON? This engine is developed by Canon! If you search through the internet you will learn from professionals that use all these printers that HP drivers are a mess! You are just an HP advertiser mate nothing more! 😂

      I bought this exact Hp 283mdw, and its failed at 3 years. Little use (200 pages/month), and it has started making terrible noises. Warranty only 2 years and HP just told me sorry, have to replace it. No money off or replacement by then. Piece of crap.

    HP is a garbage product. Every printer I have ever owned with them doesn’t last and anytime I tried to repair it myself I’ve found that there are multiple components that need to be replaced simultaneously sending you down a parts rabbit hole. I’m finding it hard to believe HP made it at #1. This video wasn’t very helpful. You should know these products well before advising people.
