I have this and the Chrome Gutter as well and if for some reason Gigapower does not release their Grimlock, this oversize MP08x Grimlock would be more than enough as, in my opinion, scales perfectly with Gutter!
The MP-8X colours are lovely, but I prefer the cartoon version, which I'm sure will follow.. And the size is perfect! Thrilled to see the build quality puts the original to shame. Now if these chaps transfer the MP-8X silver paint to the regular MP-8 cartoon coloured version then I will throw money at them faster than HasTak can say 'missed opportunity'

+Benscollectables actually figured it out came slightly mistransformed in the box. There is a peg in the chest which pushes it into place when pegged in properly in robot form.. kinda cool transformation/action feature

Mine was delivered just 1 hour ago, this figure is freakin awesome. The only problem I have is that the sword peg is to small for his hand, he'll hold if you don't move him. I think this is the ultimate masterpiece Grimlock. I just want to know how they got away with the symbols? And how long it will be available because of the symbols?

I feel like that takara should make an new mold for MP Grimlock because of reasons plus it seems like that any molds made before mp-10 in the masterpiece line are getting remolded into improved verisons or plain out getting an new mold plus Masterpiece megatron DEFINITELY needs an new mold

I love my KO mo10 but he has wobbly bits. How would you compare this KO ? Is he solid? If he feels as safe to transform as his mp counter part then I'll get him

I'm so excited, I've been saying for years they should have scaled Grimsy up a decent bit, and this is exactly what I had in mind. I also love the colors so much more on this one, the silver and animation blue/black looks nice.
Dont shame me for saying this,but Hasbro and takara gotta step there game up! I cant belive this KO looks and seems better build than the original so good that I want to buy this. I always wanted a large scale grimlock MP and this is it! And if it had the cartoon/toy G1 colors it would blend in with the fantoys as if its part of the line too. lol Man...i may get this sometime it looks very very very good. lol Thanks for the review Ben.

I'd like one done in original colors but painting the legs and fist is pretty easy for on IF this is the only version they are doing. My problem is like someone said earlier. This WAS a great mold but is getting a bit dated in Robot form. The new G creations Wrath looks badder in both modes. Ben can you compare both of those those two? I know there is a giant size difference but I'm interested in the aesthetics of how this larger but old mold compares to the Wrath.

His torso got stuck and had to pull hard and unfo. i broke the red part. Hate QC i ssues and stuff getting stuck sometimes. Not sure how it worked out for you.

*First; Where can i get that & how much?* Second; WOW!!! Ben I bought the ORIGINAL Hasbro Grimlock and it looks ten times better color deco & plastic quality then the one you had to compare. It goes to show just how CHEAP Hasbro is now. I'm starting to get agrivated at all the BS they are doing to us hard core fans that have followed them for years on end! I realize the times are different but they raised the prices about $1-$2 a year, + hollowed out ALL bots minus some legions & legends (but if you look at the new minicon battle packs the commander sized/Gen.legends are now hollow too)
I'm trying not to buy this and wait for the FT Grimlock. This version looks amazing! My Hasbro MP Grimlock is all loose i believe he came that way though.
The figure itself its a copyright infrigment by itself, but its well constructed and with a better size, shame they didnt relased this with normal colors.
I prefer the G1 colors and blue eyes but that's just me. Also I think he's a bit too big now he's a bit too big now. I always thought he was about the same size as Prime.
+thunderstudent The Dinobots are taller than Prime. I think Swoop is the smaller and slimmer one that is closer to Prime's height. But Grimlock should be about as tall as Ultra Magnus.

I can’t transform mine at all. I will keep trying but I believe his torso has been painted to its base.

I just notice some small paint apps more on the KO and a little more detail like the bolts...a really really really good KO. lol

update: fixed it wi th g orilal glue, holding on, but I'm not touching big grim for awhile until I get precision superglue or a plastic welder.
