I remember Stan giving a NYC radio interview in which he mentioned he was a shy person socially and found it easier to express himself through is horn than face to face ... I think his sound - over all - is the best sax sound I ever heard. it was that same interview (with Phil Schaap) that I heard him mention he was dying. Stan ... boy do we miss you.
i had this friend.....a trumpet player and he loved this song.....and i did too....so we had this plan to play this at one another's funeral.....thinking we had some 40 years to go.....well my friend died real soon after this plan.....and we couldn't do it......it was just too sad......still a great song....getz is one of the very best....
