The one thing about Carnival a like more is the you can see more of the ocean. Then on Royal. To see the ocean on Royal. You have to go up top or to your cabin. Almost every deck on a Carnival ship you look out and the ocean. They are both great ships. But for my budget I cruise Carnival more. They all go to the same ports. So for me Carnival is more economical. Plus I love the party atmosphere. 😊
The Mardi Gras is a cool ship but the service is sub par compared to any other cruise ship I have been on. The other issue with XL class is all of the venues are small and do not have enough seating. This issue impacted Grand Central, Piano Bar and Comedy club. I did like some of the dining options onboard that were included in order to spread people out, thought that was very smart. Buffet was terrible, especially at breakfast time. Personally, I would not go on another Carnival Cruise unless they had a unique itinerary. Royal, Holland and Celebrity all have way better service and Oasis class is just the pinnacle class of ships at sea, at least until Icon launches.
I've wanted to cruise Royal Caribbean Oasis Class for quite a while; however, I can't afford it. We've opted for Carnival Excel Class because we feel that we will still get a great cruise experience for less. I spoke with someone who kind of stuck her nose up when I told her I was cruising Carnival later this year. She said she doesn't do Carnival, but instead does "grown and sexy" with Royal. I was like, well go right on ahead, then.😂😂
We always thought that too, but we were able to be flexible in our sail time and we have a 7 night 8 day on Harmony that was actually cheaper than our Vista sailing on Carnival! If you work with a travel agent they can get you the best prices with on board credit and extra perks and upgrades too. We are at 2,900 on Harmony for a balcony with their kids sail free in Sept. we were at 3,700 on Vista and that’s not even Excel Class
Having sailed both I will say that Excel class has a lot going for it and represents a lot of positive changes in the cruise experience. As far as complimentary dining options, Excel has Oasis beat any day of the week. The only full service, complementary establishment on Oasis continues to be the MDR which is a little absurd IMHO. Oasis on the other hand does have the "wow" factor that nobody can match and experiences at sea that are unique to this class of vessel. Bottom line, a person needs to experience both.
Carnival was stuck on small older ships so we left them 6 years ago. Now revisiting on Celebration 🎉 in a few days coming from Royal. Hope for something new in carnival
I haven't been on either ship but have sailed on both cruise lines. The largest Carnival cruise ship I've sailed on was Conquest class ships Liberty, Valor and Freedom. Largest Royal Caribbean ship would be the Mariner of the Seas. There is a different experience between these 2 cruise lines which seems to bear out in this video about the differences between the largest cruise ships. Having done multiple cruises on both cruise lines Carnival has the edge with the Fun and the food included in the cruise fare. Royal Caribbean extra cost fine dining is better.
Although Royal's Solarium Bistro is located in the solarium, kids ARE allowed to eat in the venue. Kids aren't allowed to hang out in the solarium, but they can most certainly eat in the Bistro 😊
With oasis I really dislike the mall feeling you get on board, I like feeling like I'm on an actual cruise. Why would I ever get a balcony room facing a mall like boardwalk and other rooms rather than the ocean. This is a big reason I'd prefer Carnivals Excel ships over Oasis.
I go on a cruise to see the WATER. If I want to see a balcony and court yard I can book a room at Embassy Suits or The Luxor in Las Vegas. Wow, I book a cruise balcony and pay extra for it so I can see someone's balcony across from me and a courtyard down below? Wow, like living in New York City with sky high taxes, high prices, overcrowding and NO ocean view - without the high crime I guess? And the side theatre in Carnaval sucks. Noise, people walking in front of you, floors, decks, and supports all blocking your view, etc. Both these class ships are beautiful but I'll take the smaller ships any day over these two monstrosities. Avoid the courtyard and those balconies in RCL and avoid the side theatre in CCL and these ships are great if you do not mind long lines.
If you have babies or toddlers, oasis class ships beat carnival. We were Carnival loyal for a while but their lack of splash facilities for babies, we decided to switch to Royal and we haven’t gone back. Entertainment and food are all better and we love the boardwalk
Hey Tony 👋. I'm bald but I'm bald by choice. I love waking up in the morning and not having to put in any hair products to keep my hair looking good, it's just get up and go 😅. I do get why some men wear hats because their hair means a lot to them. However I was raised to not wear anything on your head at the dinner table. It's just an etiquette thing. I personally don't care either way though. Enjoy ❤
Carnival has a lot more food choices and the Carnival Kitchen is the best cooking experience on board. Royal has increased their prices at CocoCay and specialty restaurants to ridiculous levels.

I love all the drunken brawls.
No, they don't go to the same ports. They both have their own private islands.
Carnival=Nissan Altima of The Seas. Kidding. 😊
Went on my first cruise last month on the Oasis of the seas and loved it. I’m looking at a sailing on the Mari Gras for next year
Oasis class ships are the best. The entertainment is unmatched in quality and uniqueness.
Oasis, all day!
I love the new Carnival ships!! Been on the Mardi Gras. Going on Celebration soon and Jubilee next Spring.
I like both of them , and have traveled on both ships 🚢 class, they both offer cruisers alot for the money!
I love carnival’s excel class… so far have been on Mardi and celebration, booked on jubilee, wonder of the seas

OASIS CLASS FOR ME

The only thing I didn't like on Mardi Gras was the shows in the middle of the ship don't have enough seating.
About how much earlier would you say we need to be there before the show for seating? I'm about to go in early may

I really liked this video.
Oasis…easily!
Loyal to Royal: Love Royal
I’ve cruised both too I like Carnival better

Oasis class is much better in my opinion. Carnival is trying, but they still miss the mark.

Carnival sucks. Royal is way above anythng carni-crap has to offer.
Carnival food is much better quality than Royal Caribbean.
@@pinkorganichorse Not from my experience.
