    If you ever reupholster a car seat, that steamer comes in handy for that.
    Good video. Thanx for sharing with everyone the process.

    Thank You So Much! You did Exactly what I want to do. I've watched a ton of video but no one started with a cattleman's crown and completely changed it to an unrelated shape. I've even been told that once a hat has been shaped, you can't really change the shape. I am so excited to redo my hat! I really hate the tired old cattleman and want something close to a Gus. You have given me the confidence and instruction to make the change 🙂

      You can do a Gus too, I have a gray one that I did. Thanks for watching!

    That was quite the interesting process. I've seen hats made from the raw cone but I don't recall ever watching anyone completely reshape their own. Thanks for sharing that.

      Some day, I'd like to make one from a pile of raw wool! Thank you for watching!

      It's not very hard to do at all. I put an Amazon link for the steamer in the description. Thanks for watching!

    Nice job. Great movie and character. But have to say when I first glanced at the clip I thought you were making the pimp character hat on Deniros movie taxi driver.

      Lol! I like the fuzzy "pimp" hats! Thanks for watching!

      Mine isn't perfect either, sometimes it just takes more time and gentle tweaking.

    Wallpaper steamer, more steam and water reservoir holds more. Just remove the pan head and duct tape the end of the hose. Play around with the opening to get the flow right.

    • @SmallCaliberArmsReview
      @SmallCaliberArmsReview  ปีที่แล้ว

      I agree, I just don't have a wallpaper steamer. They do make small hat steamers but I just don't do enough hats to justify getting one. Thanks for watching!

    How wide do you like the brims on your hats ? 3.5 or 4 inch? I'm thinking about getting my brims cut down from 4 because they look way too big for my face shape 🤣

    • @SmallCaliberArmsReview
      @SmallCaliberArmsReview  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Most of the time I wear a ball cap but, it all depends on the look I'm after. I think I tend to like the wider brims though.

    I’ve been doing this for a while because I won’t pay $500+ for a custom movie hat, I did my own roy rogers double crease, John Waynd cavalry hat, John Wayne Searchers hat, Johnny Ringo, I have a hat problem...

    • @SmallCaliberArmsReview
      @SmallCaliberArmsReview  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Lol, me too! When I see those movie hat prices, it just drives me crazy. Sometimes they don't even look like the ones from the film. Thanks for watching!

    Do you think you might make Marty McFly's hat from Back to the Future III in the future?

    • @SmallCaliberArmsReview
      @SmallCaliberArmsReview  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That is a pretty cool hat. Looks like a brown suede, I have made a couple leather hats in the past. You never know, I just might! Thanks for watching!

    • @SmallCaliberArmsReview
      @SmallCaliberArmsReview  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I take that back, I believe it is a regular wool hat. I'd just have to find one in that color and big enough to fit my big head.

    • @Stuingtion
      @Stuingtion 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@SmallCaliberArmsReview I'm sure you'll be able to find one. If you can find the hats for all the other hats you made then that one shouldn't be hard to find.

    Can you make the Ben Wade hat?

    • @SmallCaliberArmsReview
      @SmallCaliberArmsReview  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      That one is a little tricky, mostly because I have a big head, but I do have the hatband, some seed beads and some turquois chips. (I planed on making it someday) Thanks for watching!

    Very interesting looks like you have great future retirement Business? You could even use your TH-cam handle name 🤑I don’t really wear hats but if I did I would wear one of these cool ones the preacher one looks pretty bad ass.🇺🇸🍻🤜🏻

    • @SmallCaliberArmsReview
      @SmallCaliberArmsReview  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I still have a few years before retirement but I think I'll have lots of stuff to keep me busy! I always wear a hat, usually a baseball cap or a hardhat but I enjoy wearing the Cowboy hats the most. People sometimes look at you like you're from another planet when you wear them though. Thanks for watching!

    Steaming a leather hat band is going to shrink and ruin the band

    • @SmallCaliberArmsReview
      @SmallCaliberArmsReview  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I'm not real sure it was real leather. It'd didn't shrink on me anyway. Thanks for watching!
