Fun facts - we don't have "Train Stations" in Great Britain, We have Railway Stations, The mountain just visible at 2:11 of your video diary is Ben Nevis, the highest peak in the United Kingdom, but not unduly difficult to get to the top of if you're reasonably fit. I'm guessing that English English is not your first language as in this country the public walkway through the carriages of a passenger train is known as the corridor. It would have been good if you'd gone to the front of the train and shown your viewers the locomotive which was about to haul it to Edinburgh. Although the Caledonian Sleeper's Mark 5 carriages are very new, built by CAF in Spain between 2015-19, the Class 73 engines are actually sixty years old and - being ElectroDiesels - were originally the only ones of their kind in the world. I live on the South Coast of England where the Class 73's were intended to operate from a 750 Volts DC Third Rail power supply. It still seems strange to see these versatile and powerful little machines working passenger trains in the West Highlands of Scotland. I hope that you weren't woken up by the shunting movements at Edinburgh, where the three separate portions of the Highlander Sleeper (Aberdeen, Inverness and Fort William) are joined together to make a single, 16-carriage train! I visited Fort Villiam in August 1995 when British Rail was running the Anglo-Scottish Sleeper trains in conjunction with Motor Rail. The old Mark 3 Sleeper carriages had more storage space for luggage in the cabins because there was a lid over the washbasin which could be raised or lowered as required, and the ladder needed to access the upper bunk could also be moved. I'm glad that you enjoyed your Sleeper journey. Thank you for recording it in such detail in your entertaining video report.

@@hazelanderson1479 - "Bathroom" instead of "Lavatory" is another of my pet hates. A "bathroom" should contain - guess what? - a bath! If it contains a toilet and shower then it's a "wet room" and should be referred to as such. I don't give up easily and will always challenge the use of "Train Station" instead of "Railway Station" whenever I come across it.
@@DaveSuperThomas I understand your dislike of “bathroom.” The term “Rest Room” sets my teeth on edge, as that seems to be the last thing you do in there, and “Comfort station” sends the blood pressure soaring.
@@hazelanderson1479 King Canute would have recognised the feeling. Bathrooms need not have a bath, as the word is used euphemistically in place of whatever went before. Words for such facilities have to be replaced as each in turn becomes unacceptable.
Big change could come as soon as June. That's when Scottish govt says it will take over the franchise from Serco unless the latter proposes a better plan. Serco says it's lost a huge amount of money operating Cal Sleeper over the past seven years.
@@Travelwow7 It's not definite provided Serco can provide better performance but let's hope it turns out alright. Check The Scotsman online for the news posted a few days ago.

God bless you, sir, for the comment about railway stations. I dislike the Americanisms that blight the English language.

Luxury might be an overstatement, but if you can sleep on a moving train it's a worthwhile experience.
The dining car adds luxury to the travel . Otherwise, it’s a sleeper train.
The "luxury" comes in the form of en suite toilet and shower (for the costliest accommodation) something not seen before in the UK.
I'm doing the sleeper service to fort William in march next year and I've booked a club room for both ways
👍
