Enjoyed that. I am going to try slow-pitch jigging next time I am out. It would have been good to talk through the techniques you each were using. Don't let this be the last lure-off!

Without a chart plotter then a good old fashion compass would get you back.

Good upload Guys , what I’ve noticed is soft plastics fish best in low water temperatures, but if the fish are in small mark that’s deep slow jigs will work very well, another method I use in 20ft and less is micro jigs /Toby’s around 25 to 40g you will get alot of fish with this from spring onwards, also try Bucktail jigs and fit a soft plastic grub to the hook , heavy head for deep water, very light head for shallow, tipped with strips of Squid work very well for Bass, white is very good colour for bucktail jigs for bass, Tenya jig heads with dead prawn also work for Bass in deep water.Another great method for bass boat fishing is trolling soft plastics if there deep ,and when there high in water troll shallow divers 2 to 3mph for Bass I find ,look forward to your next uploads tightlines 😎🐟

Thank you Darren! I will give this a go, I have a UL setup which I’m going to try for bream on micro metals on Friday if the weather allows 🤞

@@SouthysFishing forsure micro metals you will pick up good mackerel as well, UL gear is great sport when big fish takes your lure,I don’t Lure fish for bream much but the main types of lures I get alot of bream on is small crank baits ,rapalla, or salmo, and the small savage gear gravity minnows are top bream lures ,Best of luck with Breams tightlines mate 😎🐟

Very cool video. I bet slow pitch would have a greater advantage in deeper water where you need heavy soft baits to get down. I've got a couple of 275 g Savage Gear v2 sandeels and the weight takes a lot of the natural motion out of them compared to lighter soft baits. I am by no means a SPJ expert but maybe your catch rate could benefit from changing up the motion of the jig a bit. This guy explains some of the different slow jigging techniques (watch from 5 min into the video) th-cam.com/video/xchA7sobfME/w-d-xo.html

Hello, thank you for watching. Yes after this video it made me think a lot and you are right they would have defo out fished the soft plastics if we were fishing a wreck or something in a lot deeper water.
If I had more time it would have been good to try out 3 different marks in different depths to see which ones work the best so maybe I’ll
Do this next time instead of fish the same mark.
I’ll give the video a watch 👌 give my latest video a watch, if your into lure fishing 🙏

I tried SPJ for the first time, on some wrecks in 70-120 m water, a couple of weeks ago. Slow day and pirks seemed to work just as well that day, which was a little disappointing, but at least it was more fun fishing with 200 g jigs and a light rod instead of 500 g pirks and 20-30 lb rods 🙂
Honestly I changed back to soft plastics quite quickly when I felt like I was being outfished... but I have just invested in a expensive SPJ rod and reel setup, so now I have to justify the investment by actually catching some fish with it 😅
Just watched the lure fishing video. Good fun. Keep them coming 👌

@@KristianGrSl thanks! Yeah I also invested in a decent setup and I have the same mindset hahaha
