So true. We were homeless for nearly a year and couldnt find help from any church, charity and etc. Finally, a stranger allowed us to pay nominal rent to live in his office. Not every homeless person is a drug addict or criminal, folks. I hope this smart lady finds her way out soon.

I was in an abusive household when I was younger and was kicked out with nowhere to go. I still don’t even know how I managed to eat something every few days or day. Shelters were scarce and filthy and dangerous. Programs wanted me to admit I was a drug addict when I was sober and homeless. I do remember the worst part was not showering whenever I wanted. Had to find showers at parks with a swim lake, gyms, or sometimes a bowl with an outdoor faucet. I went from being a normal young student, to invisible. People assumed I had gotten myself there due to bad choices. Figured I deserved it. It was crazy. I’m grateful for the young man I met who actually cared for me like a human and not some homeless girl to take advantage of. Got me in an apartment and let me heal. I got counseling and joined a church. Finally married that young man and he takes care of our daughter and I. He turned out to be the sweetest most patient and caring man I’ve ever met. Great job. Great heart. I know not everyone is that lucky, but I totally can relate to this lady’s story. I’ll be praying for you Monica! And everyone else who is homeless. God bless yall

Woke up one morning to cops and paramedics outside because a naked homeless crackhead broke into my neighbor's car and did God knows what in it all night and it took the medics hours to wake the guy up and get him out of the car. Hard to have compassion for a bunch of lawless drug addicts - which is what the majority of Seattle's homeless are. Numerous homeless wellness checks, censuses, and audits all over western WA have reported this over the past 5 years.
I have compassion and empathy to spare, but not for those that continue to burn their own lives down, and try to take the rest of us with them. Facts: they don't deserve it!
Caveat: I'll reserve my compassion and empathy for those who are homeless for reasons other than crime or drug addiction. But the addicted criminals in the homeless camps? Nope.

@@truther001 Dang, that's really weird... I live in a middle-class neighborhood and we have the same problems. Is it universal? However, we really should care for our elderly... but, only if they have a home. Ya'know?

Personally, I don’t begrudge them having some comfort with this pool. But legally, it could be a problem. It needs maintenance to stay clean and supervision to protect against injuries or accidents, especially if children have access.

I was homeless because the police swatted my home whilst I was working. I witnessed one of their officers molesting a 13 year old boy. The action of what they did to me destroyed me. Keep making efforts for a better future and never stop trying new things.

God bless you Monica.🙏I am 60 & was recently homeless for eighteen months, disabled with heart problems. You speak wise words about homeless people being pushed to the side by society. I felt thrown out like trash by my own country, pushed aside as if I don’t exist. And about homeless people not having much to look forward to. May God shower abundant blessings on you and every person in that homeless encampment where you are and every single person experiencing homelessness at this moment. 🙏🛐❤️ We are all God’s children, equally, united as humans. And we are in this life together, to love one another, help others and light the path for everyone we meet. Monica, I see your light. Keep shining.

What do you mean? I’ll be honest city council is stealing all the money instead of helping the homeless off the street. Like they could literally build them small homes and have them stay in there but have to find a job and with time they can move out to their own place. California is doing that in some parts and it’s working. But it’s such a small camp that they can only get a few people back on their feet

We are so quick to judge until we're faced with the same reality that this woman is going thru. Homelessness can happen to anyone of us at anytime. Life is uncertain, be thankful for who and what you have in your life. Be a blessing to someone today, tomorrow and forever....you could be that blessing they were praying for.

Instead of spending energy getting an inflatable pool in a homeless encampment on someone else’s land and ruining property values of taxpayers, these people need to stop playing the victim card and put that energy into helping themselves get into a shelter or housing and get a job. I’ve been homeless and I never did this kind of ridiculous stuff. I was too busy surviving and getting my life together to get back into society. For the people who are crying how unfair it is- I doubt they’re doing anything to be of service to these people and they haven’t been homeless.

I can understand her point of view, but it’s really easy for us to say this kinda situation isn’t a big deal; people living close by that are effected by the crime rate have a right to feel differently. Honestly, most cities need more money going toward the homeless if this is ever gonna get fixed.

I was homeless for a year. I lived in motels until I didn't have the money for anymore 3 months. I then lived in my Suburban for 9 months till I could find an apartment that took the housing plan I was on. I am disabled and can't work. I have never done drugs. I also had my 17 year old cat with me. I didn't move in the say to a park then when to a park and ride at night. I was very respectful and asked no one for anything. So it can happen to anyone. I lost my family home that my mother left me due to back property taxes I couldn't afford on my income plus it was in desperate need of repairs that I couldn't afford. It can happen to anyone. Not all homeless people are on drugs!

No one should judge homeless people and stop making assumptions, just because they're homeless doesn't mean they're on drugs or alcoholic. No one knows what brought then to this place in their life. If everyone helped a little it could make a huge difference.
