Is there going to be enough leg room after you shorten the floor? Also, I think it would be easier to section and widen the Triumph body than to narrow the chassis.
It will be a tad tighter than the factory tr3 floor because the transmission tunnel on the Mercedes is so large and very much a structural item. But not unusable. Of course we left the body of the tr3 stock for many reasons chiefly being we think it’s a timeless shape and want to leave it untouched. But also that adding or taking away exterior metal from it would disturb the 64 years or patina and natural color fading the body has. We don’t intend to body work or paint the car. Rather leave it looking as though it is a 64 car rusting away meanwhile a modern Mercedes lives under its skin.

Simply can not comprehend why you did not extend the TR body at the doors.
Would take a day max
60 years of patina. Classic and iconic design. Lengthening is silly. Combine that with the hit in the side.
