i get so happy when i see something like a lighter or locket or something being restored. Even though the person it belonged to is gone, the little piece of metal that they carried in their pocket is being restored and cared for. 10/10 job.
Nice to see a piece with honest to goodness rust, pitting and defects that actually needs work to restore. This is patience, skill and talent. Too many other restoration channels have pieces that they've caked in mud and they say, Oh, look how rusty it is! Awesome to see a real restoration!
Bonjour, merci beaucoup pour cette vidéo, c'est de l'excellent travail, vous m'avez rappelé avec cette vidéo des moments agrébles avec mon grand père, qui possédait un briquet dans ce style
Restoring a 100 year old lighter? The first thing you’re going to need is an old piece of acacia wood, obviously. Amazing restoration. 10/10 I miss the quality of how things were made before “planned obsolescence.”
Why is everything always "100 years underground" in these videos? You can literally say, "it's really old and I picked it up at a flea market" and no one is going to care any less.
It depends what type of soil it's in. I have metal detected coins in different soil types and it affects metals differently. Also what metals are composed of affects their rate of decay.
It looks great and you did an amazing job restoring it as well!!! I'm glad you didn't stain the out side of the beautiful wood!! Does it always grow that way to one side?? I enjoyed your video so I gave it a Thumbs Up
I was watching your video and realized a similar lighter I own is missing the twist on cap used to protect the wick from the elements. Do you have the lighter still? I would love to know the dimensions to find a replacement or make my own.
Rating this a 9 in terms of your channel only because of the other work you have done in the past and I dont understand the purpose of the wood. In general it's a 10 though!
@@capers72424 the lighter restoration was amazing. The display? A sawed-off branch, sanded and finsihed with clear linseed oil...? It's probably the ONLY thing that Rexstorer has ever done where I can honestly say "I could have done that...!"
i'm not feeling qualified to rate your work here . . . . i am wondering to myself just how terrible it would be to edit the design with a chain or wire that keeps the wick cap tethered to the lighter. personally i'd approve a design edit. Like 👍

Wow, that turned out better than I ever thought it would be. Very nice job sir. 10/10.
I absolutely love your channel and your restorations. Thanks ✌️
Thanks for watching! 😊
You have endless patience my friend. Great job
Thanks 👍
10/10 It’s like new. What a beautiful object and I love the display you made to hold it.
Hi mister beautiful restoration beautifully restored good job well done
Beautiful restoration with wonderful talent and skill used. Rating: 10+ ❤
beautifull lighter! great restoration!!
Very nice restoration. It was in surprisingly good condition for having been underground for over 100 years.
I can't be the only one that was wondering what that piece of wood was for the entire time.
Nope…..I was confused too
I rate it an 100, great work!
Fantastic effort 10 out of 10. 👏👏😃👋🇭🇲👏👏

Well done and easily a 10.
Good job mister beautifully restored well done
I could never touch this musty, rusty, crusty, and dusty thing (I subbed)
10.
You are so clever, and the lighter is really beautiful.
Brass is a good thing to find because it does not rust so a guy can do what you just did, and restore it back to original
Nicely done
10. Superb workmanship!
Добрий результат, реставрація справа відповідальна, ви впорались на відмінно, 10 однозначно!
Дякую!
10 very nice restoration 😊👍🏻
10 / 10 equals 1 so I give it 10 x 10 which is 100! Really looks nice I think!
Beautiful restoration! 10 😎
Amazing job. That lighter is a work of art. You're an artist, sir! Cheers!😁🔧🛠️

these things were found underground by a metal detector
@night_city_7 Something that was underground for 100 years wouldn't be in that good of shape.
@@elektrikill1218 looking at the material, it can be seen that the scraper on the lighter is rusted

Good work 10 of 10.
10/ 10. Piękna zapalniczka, wygląda jak złota. Jednak zamiast drewnianego pojemnika zrobiłabym jakiś skórzany pokrowiec.
A solid 10 great job
where you do find these to clean

I was so worried you weren't going to light it at the end 😅

10 for sure!

Nice job, and nice presentation as well! Where do you find such artifacts, France, Germany, Belgium?
Thanks! Ukraine)
Very nice!
10…. Good stuff!
This is beautiful! Do you sell any of the items you restore?
10/10 😊
First view ❤❤❤
Was that like a display ashtray?
10 of 10, doubtlessly. Respect from Ukraine. Just one question - why did you make so massive case for such a tiny thing?)
10/100 👍

You have never worked with acacia then? It is a truly wonderful wood to work with.
@@docdavefr Yes it is but that doesn't explain it's purpose.
Well... would say, it's a "Display Case" for the lighter... 😊
It is a display… similar to framing art for your wall. It does a stunning job of setting off the lighter. Gorgeous!
Where do you find most of these items?

@@SATXbassplayer not necessary, but neither was the restoration. The display is gorgeous, as is the lighter.

@ so you aren’t OK with him doing something simple and beautiful? The lighter was ornate enough that it called for a simple display.
@ just like I wouldn’t be ok watching a musician who played something pedestrian that I could easily play myself.
