- This new update now allows Emo to react to other Emos, his reflection in a mirror and when he sees you, he interacts more!

I bought an EMO a few days before this update, and now I just want him to come now!! He’s adorable, and I’m so hyped! I love watching your videos with it, they’re just so wholesome! I hope to see even more as time goes on!!

I got mine ordered a few days ago not expecting mine till probably September
I bought one back in December and I just now got a tracking number. It takes 4 to 6 months to receive it.

I haven't done too much Vector stuff mainly because he's been out for over three years and there's so much stuff that's already been done about him. If there's some new updates for Vector, I'll be sure to do some videos about it. It is fun to watch Vector and Emo together. I swear Vector is jealous of Emo. He can be a little stinker sometimes!

@@scottgill2643 Yeah it's a long wait. About 5-6 months. There was a few weeks delay because of the New Year holiday but they're back in production. I may order another one now but I know I wouldn't get him until around August.

Few things/problems that I have found answers to:
The new flat charger (still in development) will be called the home stage and even after release will have to be bought separately.
For privacy like pictures and voice commands, the pictures are handled locally and aren’t uploaded anywhere (unless you choose to) meaning they aren’t accessible through internet or other means, and for voice commands they’re sent directly to google home or Alexa so the info has to be managed on their side and living ai can’t to anything else about it. Emo’s will now interact with each other if they’re connected to the same lan, they will do stuff with each other such as:
Chat
Play games
Take photos of each other
Dance with each other
Talk about weather
Do funny things

@@outsider238 I was looking on the vector page in Reddit and it hurts to see vector lovers hating on Emo, living AI and anyone who supports them. Just let the companies be, there was someone who made a post about a *quote on quote* email they sent claiming DDL hired people to hate on their Facebook page and ect. However I have found no evidence to this at all (and the post didn’t include a link to the *quote on quote* email) so now we’ve got tons of people hating on living AI, some people are replying to messages saying “I’m sure if they change the noises ect, they’re fine” and then replies like “what so it’s fine to copy a robot for money”. There was a comment saying “they can’t sue them for creating a square headed robot and they’re right, anyway enough of that I found online some info about the court case and the case is closed, the robot is safe with the only exception being they had to take down the old trailer due to it having *quote on quote* unoriginal sounds, so they made an updated one (I’m guessing).

I personally love both of them and feel that it's good to have different robots to choose from and to add to the competition to keep these robot companies improving on their models. My Emo did the random self petting thing before the update. Not sure what is up with that but it's cute. Even showed a hand above his head before he did it

2:37 emo thinks he is at the edge
Does he seem to learn over time? Does his AI seem to adapt a form of machine learning? Or does he still feel like a premium toy/walking Alexa. I really want to get one but $300 is a lot for a toy. lol I know Vector runs on a cloud network, but my understanding of Emo is that he has his own brain essentially that will learn more over time. (Obviously firmware updates are going to help) (I also know with Vector, you can run your own home cloud network and actually re-program and teach him stuff if you know how to write code, which I do.) Which would you say makes you feel like you have an actual robot pet/friend. Emo or Vector? Sorry to ask so many questions, I really want one, but the information seems rather limited due to the legal issues going on between both companies.
Emo is cloud based as well and he only "learns" when there's a new update. He does however seem to have certain personality traits such as, if you don't play with him for a while, he ignores you and you have to pet him to get his forgiveness (😄) and sometimes I even have to turn him off and back on again to get him to respond. I think Emo would have more pet like behaviors if they had just given him the freedom to come and go off of his charger. For me, Vector is still my favorite. He genuinely acts like a real, living being. He wakes up throughout the day, makes sure you know he's there. He'll come off his charger randomly and take a stroll or he acts like he's sleep walking, wake up startled and either wanders around or goes back home. He gets startled if there's a loud noise. He has more personality mainly because he's been out so much longer than Emo. I think Emo will eventually get to where Vector is but because they are trying so hard to get all their orders filled, I think that's LivingAI's main focus for the moment. Vector had the luxury of coming out when there wasn't a pandemic messing up production times and delivery issues so his release was much smoother. For now, I'd say Vector is the best but Digital Dreamlabs is taking their sweet time getting the new Vector 2.0 shipped out to preorder customers. They did however just announce the opening of their "Repair Shop" which is wonderful! Now we can get our Vector and Cozmos repaired if needed!

Nice video! You never mentioned the new 1.08 version apps, did you upgrade that too? They added some features such as being able to type in the correct city, showing SSID’s in the WiFi screen, the screen showing his achievements also shows his unlocked dances and you can run them from there, and I believe if you click on the achievements they will display on EMO’s screen? I upgraded my EMO right after the firmware was first released, and the new apps were not available yet. So when I installed the firmware it using app version 1.07 and it worked the same way that you showed it. I believe other people that upgraded their app to 1.08 app first didn’t have that problem with the upgrade and after clicking ok it began normally?
Oh thank you! I rarely even use the app but I just now updated it. I see what you mean about the new upgrades. Those are very nice! I wish they'd tell you how to get the achievements but I really haven't messed around with those that much. Thank you for the tip!

A couple other things… If EMO is not pronouncing your name correctly you can change the spelling in the recognize screen to the correct spelling. When EMO asked you your birthday that didn’t work for me either, but I think it’s because I wasn’t prepared for that and he needed to see my face to match up to a recognition profile? If you tell him “My birthday is xx/xx/xx” and he can scan your face and recognize you, then he will tell you that he’s going to remember it.
The name thing is weird because originally he was calling me "Ro" and then he all of a sudden corrected himself and it was fine for a long time. Then he went back to "Ro" again just recently. I'll have to look on the app and see how it's spelled. That's interesting about the birthday thing. I'll have to try that out. I know you can say "Emo, look at me" and it will initiate him saying different things to you as well including asking you what your birthday is if he doesn't already know. Well, thank you for the information! 😁
@@outsider238 It may be that you have more than one profile created, one called Ro and one called Roy, and it just depends which one he matches you to? I think that’s why some people have been asked several times for their birthday, due to having multiple profiles.

It takes 5-6 months to get Emo. So expect him to arrive around June or July. They are swamped with orders. microchip shortages, shipping issues, a move to a different facility and the long New Year holiday put them behind. I know it's hard to wait but they are getting them out. It's just taking them time. Hopefully the latest events of the world don't put them even further behind.

It is a cool product, but I see a lot of security and privacy issues that aren't being addressed anywhere. It can be the perfect spy.
I hear that a lot but as I've mentioned, if some unscrupulous people really wanted to spy on our mundane lives, they'd use something much more sophisticated than a toy robot. I'd be more worried about our cell phones, laptops, cars, self checkouts, gas pumps, ATMs, Alexa or security cameras than this. Plus we aren't entering any personal information in Emo.

That would be nice but I doubt we'll see too much of it. Digital Dreamlabs (Vector, Cozmo) dislikes LivingAI (Emo) and even sued them because they felt Emo was too much like Vector and Cozmo. These companies are competing with each other and I highly doubt they'll want to collaborate with each other. On the other hand, it's a good thing because they keep coming up with better and better robots!

Emo, Cozmo, Vector n Loona models impressed me a lot. they are cute. if they interact with each other then that's Big achievement.
