By the way, Red Bull has the replay on its web site. The nice thing about the replay is that it has the little timeline below the screen with dots indicating where each rider's run starts in the video, for both Run 1 and 2. Easy to find riders you're interested in without having to scroll all over the place. Just passing that along. EDIT: Or you can look for @Tetsuro Wada 's comment, where he has put together all the time-stamps for the YT video. Thank you, Tetsuro Wada!
ABSOLUTELY F'IN AWESOME! OMG WAS THAT A RUSH! The best slopestyle ever! So many moments, but the best for me was the most un-noticed. DH going up for practice on the chair lift. Slopestyle launches up to nearly the same height spinning and DH are screaming "YEAH GO BUDDY!" That sums up this sport! I wish the rest of the world was like Mountain Biking!

In his final run there were 2 sightly off landings .. if he'd nailed those it would have been tight I think. But who cares... He perfectly executed a rampage jump on a short travel hard tail! Best joyride moment ever!!!

He's become dull to watch, though. He was Martin Söderström's protégé, and at times, it seems like he's taken Söderströmism to its logical conclusion. I am so ready to see him beaten fairly in competition.

I'm older than most but I really like watching the bike stuff, it has evolved so much since the 80's I wonder what it's gonna be like in the coming decades, I'm not sure where else it can go from here, but I'm sure there are young people right now dreaming up something cool 😊
Poor Nicholi. He always brings such positivity to other riders and goes out and gives it his all. Always sucks to see him go down. I know he got 3rd at silverstar which is great, but hopefully he can find his groove again and stop beating the hell out of himself every event.
Emil run was good with a lot of opposite tricks but I feel like Lemoine should have deserved the dub with his cash roll and the way he gaped that last jump was just sick
Personally I agree about Lemoine. But I wonder what the judges would have done, if he also tricked the big gap. Even just something like a barspin or no-hander. I think it was crazy enough to give him the win as is, judges will be judges and focus on tricks & technicality though.
@@24MPZ when I saw him going for it on the 2nd run I was really hoping he was gonna go for a simpler trick like one of those. But you're right the shock factor of gapping it like that doesn't mean the overall points held up. Still so unforgettable tho was really rooting for him after that first run

Dawid Godziek can, he can get as technical as Emil but also and unlike Emil he can do all the big flips and rotations that Rogatkin is doing. But without the variations Rogatkin isn't going to podium with these judges. Dawid just needs to finally put it all together at a Crankworx event like he did at RedBull Roof Ride.
does any of the other riders realize emil has a rear shock and i rode both tickets with and without and it helps big time when landing and not getting tossed on the landing on huge rotations. other riders need to run fully slopestyle bikes, i think it will help all around. that trek ticket is the king.
Compared to other athletes, I feel that those prize checks are kind of low. For the amount of people that event brings in and the amount of people watching at home $25k for 1st doesn't seem enough even though Emil is racking up those checks.
Just look at the sponsors of the top riders. Trek, red bull, fasthouse, ...??? For emil. They will be fine without that checks. Only if u compare it to smth like football, there will be a huge difference. But thats for nearly every sport.

Sorry, I really don't understand the scoring criteria. Didn't they say the judges have a list of tricks and their degrees of difficulty? Maybe they had nothing to guide them for how to score Lemoine's gap jump, or it didn't have the same degree of difficulty as other tricks done to finish runs? No idea. Definitely the single most memorable sequence of the whole event. Hopefully in the long run he'll get sponsors throwing cash at him as a result. Still, I'd guess he would prefer the win in the short run.
It was insane and the best part of the whole event. I think the judges are just more concerned with traditional slopestyle tricks and variations. Lemoine went full Rampage and it was awesome, but technically it was still just a straight air. I would have giving him the win though if it was up to me.
More barspins = more wins basically. Forget the variation in tricks of Bringer or Tomas, just volume of small tricks. U dont even need to do a backflip
Lemoine reminds me of a guy I used to ice climb with. That same cool demeanor and over the top confidence. It's actually a little creepy to be around people that confident. I guess that's what makes them Champions though.
EMIL wins without going upside down ONCE. The front flip triple barspin was the trick or the day... If Emil starts going upside down and adding technical stuff he'll be the Tom Brady of MTB.
Jakub Vencl - great run. I feel sorry for Nicholi Rogatkin I really love his style, he is pushing the sport so much forward. Same for Tom Isted & Lemoine - the big air he did was/is legendary. But what Emil J. does is do technical that judges doesn't have any other chances than giving him gold. It is like in snowboarding when youn need to rotate 1260 and more but I'll would appreciate more dynamcailly executed rodeo 540 ect.
thats true but its usually a harder and more impressive trick which is why it wins. Trick combos or grab combos are hard to hit and a 1080 or 1260 is already so fast you can only really do 1 grab
The sphere was directly based off realm as Semenuk's contribution to the course design, with the idea of mixing up the course rather than having straight trick jumps.
30:48 comentator said table. Pretty sure that's a downside invert. Sometimes called a waffle. Amazing feeling trick and extremely hard to click and make look good compared to the regular one.

The judges put all that into consideration. Emil is in a league of his own. Lemoine and Bringer were close though.

Lemoines jumping that last feature was MENTAL! I absolutely love this event and I am so impressed by all the riders.
