I’m amazed anyone can do these things, so many tiny wires and tricky fittings! I don’t actually make models myself, but I know a lot about various colour lighting effects, and I’m a big Trek and sci-fi fan, so there’s a lot of crossover interest for me. I do enjoy watching these videos so much, Boyd, so thanks for sharing. Btw, and this is probably something ya’ll already know, the easiest way to add a sound-to-light effect on anything with a speaker is just to add an LED or two across the speaker connections. I discovered this as a child cuz I wanted my talking Dalek to have interactive ‘dome lights’, the speaker was right under the head in the neck, and it just sorta worked out. Putting two in opposing directions is very interesting, btw, as is using RGB ones.
Fantastic work as always! I've run out of room for these big kits so I'll have to pass on building one of these so I'll live vicariously through your build! 😁
Hi Boyd I was just wstching this video . I have never used it yet but there is a electrical spray tape that might be easier to use than the tape itself on the Torpedoe launcher. It is also used for light blocking by many modelers and at the same time gets into all those nooks and crannies to prevent short Circuits in the future. Might be easier than the tape to apply too.
The bulb, (onion shape on the front of the ship) did have lined recces shapes for the mid deck window area. I think the Photo Etch for that area would make it more accurate. I imagine though that it would be extremely difficult to cut out and prepare though. The model looks excellent. Great Job as always Boyd.
The tenacontrols wiring diagram throws me for a loop! The schematics aren't as clear to me as I would like! So I will watch your videos to help me out!!
Looks amazing. I am using the Tenacontrols Option C lighting kit for mine too.I am using Two kits per build which switches from one to the other. Each programed differently. Mine should be hear anytime soon. Can't
Boyd, when attaching the neck to the body, do you only use model glue or something else for more support? Also, do you use epoxy for support? Thx, Paul
quick question, having attached the neck to the rear half, the top half cant be fixed down as the neck is designed to go both top and bottom parts according to instructions. I want to follow you, so my question is did you cut the underneath of the top part in that area to slot down ontop?
The model is looking really good so far , great work with the integrate paint scheme. Question , instead of electrical tape could you use heat srink tubing instead, or liquid electrical tape?
I think heat shrink tubing would probably squeeze the wires together too much and might short them out but for sure liquid tape or even painting black over it would be an option.
Hi Boyd, Great job as always! How do you like the Duplicolor Spray Matte Clear. How would you describe the sheen? Is it the same or similar sheen as the Duplicolor Matte clear (BSP300) you were using from the quart can? Thanks!
amazing job, !! I have a question , you made me want to try magnet wire but when i'm soldering, the solder wire doesnt stick on the wire, do i have to do something particular, ? thanks, and sorry if my english is not perfect.

Thank you for showing how you wired up the photon part Boyd. Every small bit of information helps.
Liquid tape works really well. I get mine at Walmart or a hardware store nearby.
Boyd, I don't have the time and space to myself, but i
t is always a joy to view some of your handy work.

Amazing work of art.

This torpedo is a similar process to doing the Big Easy TOS bussards... looks good buddy!
It's a pretty slick setup and I really like the way it looks.
JERRY , JERRY, JERRY, @ HDA MODELWORX SIMPLY THE BEST !!!!!!!! :)

If the wiring drawing doesn't make sense to you, the written description of connecting everything in the instructions should be more clear for you.
Awesome. Thanks for sharing your know how!

Looks really good!
Love the progress! Have you considered adding the 1/350 Fantastic Plastic Botany Bay to your collection? IIRC it's about 75 bucks.
I have one of those and will get around to building one day.

It's great, the sheen is a straight semi gloss exactly as it is from the 1 QT can.

Use a lighter to burn off the enamel coating of the magnet wire before you solder it.
@@TrekWorks thanks
