Exhaust Clamps

This video is for those who are looking to fix their leaky exhaust or to install a new exhaust system on their vehicles but needed more information about the band clamps or band couplers to hold the exhaust pipes together. This video is NOT about the old U-bolt clamps found on older vehicles.

Best explanation I've found so far. I'm replacing my intermediate pipe, muffler, and tailpipe. Ordered the Walker Mega Clamps as I do not want to use the saddle clamps ever again. Thanks for taking the time for putting this together.

Agree with not using the saddle clamps ! The bolts snap, and they don’t seal all he way round and cause me a lot of hassle !! Regards, Kev

Norma who makes Torca clamps are excellent. Provides solid modular connection that can be taken apart anytime and also limiting welds in the system which will limit rust

You are spot on! And furthermore, consumers need to be mindful that stores like autozone have now changed their inventory of clamps to the useless, weak, foreign garbage. The term "heavy duty" is a scam. Sure it costs less, but it's USELESS. Great video. Thanks for sharing.

Great video my man, thanks for the helpful and accurate information. I have some of the Evil Energy lap band clamps and the lack of quality is obvious like you mentioned. I was curious to see how the Walker clamp you show compared, specifically the I-beam, and then saw they use a completely different design. Lap band clamps that use a solid I-beam like the Evil Energy won't seal right because the I-beam should also reflect the change in diameter. I will be returning them and likely go to narrow band clamps or a lap band from Walker.
Also huge thanks because you helped me decide to cut notches for the joints I plan to use the clamps on.

To bad they don't sell these at my local Autozone or Advance auto and have to order online only which may take days to fix my car, they only sell the crappy and cheap horseshoe clamp which is not explained in this video. Thanks for explaining these clamp types which i would rather use, as it it easier to get the pipes apart with these in the future when your muffler wears out.

Imagine a solid slice of pipe with a cut through it but the other ends are fixed in place so you slip it over one side,.....
Can you simply remove the bolts and then open the gap on the clamp enough to get over the outside diameter of the pipe?
Or will I need to loosen these pipes up to get it to slip on?
