Instead of the Aran turtleneck I have a Royal Navy pattern submariner's turtleneck sweater. It's knitted from Yorkshire wool and is very comfortable on cold days. I often pair it with a blue chore jacket. Thanks for the style tips as always, Brian.

This is a good presentation. I now have several sweaters that I normally use as an alternative to jackets. I am really fond of the Aran sweaters. I do wonder why you put this out in April though, as that is the time to transition away from sweaters and layering.

BRIAN! i neeeeeed your help-advice, please!!!! I´m going to a Annual Meeting and my question is: ¿Can i wear brown shoes with a black (to charcoal) suit? The issue I have is the following: 1) my annual event is in singapore and I will be traveling for tourism around the region, its a hot humid climate and hence my wardrobe for the annual meeting is very different to the one I will be using after; 2) that being said, i only have 1 black and 1 blue suit! and I need to save space in my luggage and Im trying to decide if I could only take 1 pair of shoes (thats why i was asking about brown shoes with a black suit); 3) Annual meetings are very harsh on the feet, I suffered last year walking in Washington, so I was thinking in buying some comfortable shoes but i do not have much options, however i was thingin in a pair of brown cole haan with a comfortable sole... what do you think! please help!

It feels like the sleeves are never correct and the body seems large. I’ve sent them a shirt for measurements, I’ve done remakes, and it never works out like I would like. Maybe it’s time to try the HSS Shop… also congratulations on your upcoming retirement from the Army.

The shawl collar is famous from Quantum Of Solace. Daniel Craig looks great in it. I found a version of it that despite being small fits quite baggy, I know you are also going ‘baggy’ in this video, but do you think a fitted one would look the part… or take away that almost casual element to it ? I love recreating the look from the film, but always feel like it’s a little frumpy

Have you ever reviewed their MTM shirts or suits? You should.
I'd be interested in you trying out Luxire, they have an option to send in a pair of trousers that fit you really well and they will create a pattern off of those trousers you send in. Their website is pretty low quality, but I think this is something I am going to try out once I finally get a pair of trousers that actually fit me well.

I found them because I've been trying to find MTM trousers made of moleskin, tweed, and corduroy, that aren't super expensive.

Turtlenecks and mocknecks only work on taller men. You need to have a longer neck and longer overall body to pull them off well. Also, I wouldn't wear a shawl cardigan with a button down shirt under it, as they compete and look too busy together. I'd always wear a t-shirt under it and keep it casual.

I notice that you roll the bottom of the sweater under to shorten the length. What is the benefit of doing that instead of buying a shorter sweater?
Good question. I didn't know that there were shorter sweaters. I've never seen that from a brand as an option. Personally, I do it because I have a shorter torso, so it looks more "right" on me that way. I also like that it can potentially guard against some of the bunching up that will sometimes happen. Basically, makes a cleaner look for me. Hope that helps!
@@hespokestyle Thanks so much! There are shorter sweaters, but extremely hard to find. I mainly buy vintage for that reason. Sweaters in ages past (especially in the 30s-50s) were designed to end right below the waistband, which in those days was higher on the body than today (at or above the natural waist). Thanks for your video and your informative reply.

Brian is great and the videos are nice and polished and easy to watch. But I have to say...his outfits have become a bit...bland? Fine? Nothing different from what you see in a J.Crew catalog or something. I miss the actual STYLE and creativity that Brian used to show.
I showcase my real style all the time. And these days I love simplicity--it's easy, effortless, and always looks good. If you find that bland, then that's your opinion. Style, for me, isn't about the "wow factor". If you're trying to make jaws drop with every single outfit, you're trying too hard.

Love your videos. Please lose the beard. You are too good looking to cover your face . I’ve always hated them because they are the opposite of clean cut and remind me of lazy . Just my opinion .
Long time follower of the channel. Im really concerned about you mostly doing videos that are essentially ads for yours sponsors. Even with full disclosure I feel it a bad way to do sponsors and that makes the content of the channel less worthwhile and takes a toll on credebility if overdone.

I will also say that I do not do sponsored "reviews". That's a line in the sand for us. If a brand wants a review, we don't work with them. Period.
