Bought the yellow one after waiting a year for the release. Immediately installed Paul Gage tires, removed rear magnet, lubed bushings and gears. I must say I'm a bit disappointed...the motor fit is loose and caused rear axle lash/movement, corrected with a bit of hot glue. I run all of my cars at 50% speed and brake setting which best suits my layout. The C8.R is SLOW compared to some of my older cars. The stock motor is anemic, and I've found that to be the case in the last 4 to 5 Carrera D132 cars I've purchased. I have heard motors in the newer cars are weaker than those in older cars. I'm seriously considering not buying any additional Carrera cars for that reason. I dont mind the tuning/tinkering with the cars, but I think Carrera could do better as far as motors are concerned. Just my 2 cents.

Hello Thomas I totally agree I had a couple of motor mesh instances with my Carrera cars, as a collector I find Carrera cars are not the best at fit but amazing in the body finish. For the racing we do at the “home setting” they are fine and when we all race Carrera at the club it is pretty even and makes for fun racing, but for pro racing I prefer slot-it, nsr and my new favourite right now is SCALEAUTO

@@conquestracingclub Great, I'm strictly a home racer and run 99% of the time alone in my garage (where my track is set up). I have a Carrera D132 layout and 15 cars. I live in the Tampa Bay area and I'm not sure if there are any local clubs or tracks. That being said, I dont think I'll make the transition to competition grade cars. Honestly, at this time I dont want to invest the time and money. If I could run analog cars on my layout without buying digital chips that would be a big incentive. Going Carrera digital is somewhat bittersweet because of that limitation. I know one of the Scalextric digital systems have a analog mode, Carrera should follow suit in my humble and probably biased opinion. Again, my 2 cents.

@@thomassanders2600 I have a special unit on my control that allows me to switch from analog to digital it is from tekslots check out my DDT track video where I demo it. Allows me to run digital and analog cars on Carrera digital track

@@conquestracingclub Yes, I'm aware of TekSlot. I just read that the guy making them is suspending production indefinitely due to lack of parts. Another reason the capability should be incorporated into the sets by the manufacturer in my humble opinion.

@@thomassanders2600 if Carrera integrated that I would be extremely happy as well the tel slots unit was very pricy
