Thanks for watching guys and happy that many of you like the analog mode so much! For the analog mode you need: - SmartRace app (one-off approx. €10) - SmartRace Connect Server add-on (approx. €4 one-off) You do not need a subscription to use the analog mode!
Hello! I will try to use it for a single car counter and Pit-stop function...for Carrera Hybrid. Running without track on a free track (around. the carpet :-)). Therefore I would love to have a slightly bigger detection zone. Would make it easier to make sure to run with the RC (Carrera Hybrid) Car through the zone. Sounds maybe a bit boring, but counting laps, time + a possible pit-stop makes it quite interesting. I did not test yet, but I expect that I can save as well the data. Hence, I can use several cars (one after the other) and several drivers (again one after the other). Saving the results will then give me a tool which does much more than the Carrera App does.
@@meersonne83 Ah, very interesting! 🙂 You can just resize the detection zone (hot spot) to your liking by dragging the handles on the side and the bottom of the rectangle. I'd love to get a feedback about how this works with Carrera Hybrid - just mail me to info@smartrace.de if you find the time 🙂Cheers, Marc
@@SmartRace Probably no surprise for you, but it worked perfectly! Positioned the phone in a rather narrow passage and thanks to your feedback I adjusted the hotspot in order to cover the whole passage. Now I am able to have a look on the data, lap by lap, driver by driver, car by car and I can save the data. Just perfect. Quite some more time needed, still did not test the pit-stop function which will bring some more race feeling. But already the sound of Smartrace + Carrera App leads to quite a racy environment. Good fun! Happy to be able to use my favorite app with Carrera Hybrid: Smartrace! THX again for your quick help 🙂
I am in the process of designing a FPV drone course for my backyard, and I am integrating Smartrace in analog mode to create a flight finish line with the phone monitor across from a black cardboard background. I will be using DJi Neo drones, which can bounce and are near indestructable. have everything now (hoops and mic stands to hold them) and a lot of decorative lights. Great new use of Smartrace with a lot of potential. I am planning on using the same setup for a RC car course. Can't wait to add drones and RC cars to the database. Wish me luck! I will keep you updated. - Mario Hemsley
I love this app! I use the app in Analog mode and have experienced a lot of false detections. The sensitivity feature you demonstrated is exactly what I needed to improve the experience. Thanks for the great work!.
Can you set both detection boxes to count as the same car? Or is it possible to use a second phone for the pit lane? The reason I ask is that I have a dedicated pitlane for pitstops. Thanks!
I have SmartRace up and running on my 1/64th 3-lane 3x6' Viper Scale Racing track. I somehow thought I had to purchase the subscription to get analog mode working, but ok, I already paid so I'll do that for year 1, IDK how I missed that i just needed the $11 and $4 add on, didn't see that option in the app when I was getting it all setup. (yet I see it here in your pinned comment) I want to free up my main iPhone that's currently being used for the sensor, connecting to an iPad Mini I am using for the server and race control etc. I really want just a cheap phone with enough power to be the sensor and send the data to the server, with magsafe QI charging so I can lock it onto the charger stand, have it anchored nicely and angle it etc. What is the cheapest used phone I can get away with for this? hoping for something in the $50 range if possible.
I can't really give you a very qualified opinion on which device you should get. What I can tell you is that I use a Samsung Galaxy S8 with no problems with up to 6 lanes. I don't think you can get it for $50 yet, but maybe not too far off. But I'm sure there are many cheaper devices which will also work without any problem. I just can't point you to a specific one. I'm sorry. 😞
hello! I am excited about this analog mode for use on an 1/64th scale 3 lane routed VIPER SCALE RACING track I have. it's a small track, 3'x6' with only 3 lanes, HO spacing. I run cars from Aurora TJETS, AFX, G+, SuperG+ Mega G, Mega G+ Viper, DASH, AW, etc. my question is, I have only an iPhone 14 pro max and a Steam Deck that I could use for this at this time. Can I run the SmartRace server on the Steam Deck and the SmartRace connect on the iPhone?
SmartRace Connect on the iPhone will of course work, but I don't think the Steam Deck will. Does it run Android? I'm not too familiar with this device. 😞
@@SmartRace ok. I was not sure if it was limited to only Android and iPhone. I will see if I can find a cheap used iPad for the server side. Thank you.
Bought the app but cant get the qr code. It seems to ask for a subscription purchase to start a server. I don't see an option for analog mode to be switched either. Thanks for any help
Please check out the manual which gives you a step by step guide to the analog mode: www.smartrace.de/en/the-smartrace-manual/preparations-for-analog-mode/ - if something doesn't work, please mail me to info@smartrace.de
@@SmartRace Super danke :) die Bahn sieht wirklich klasse aus! Schön clean und trotzdem mit realen vorbildern ausgestattet. Das alte 24h NBR design der Pitlane gefällt mir auch!
Thank you, ok I have an issue after using analog mode. Now smart race only recognizes only one lane, funny it was the same lane I was running analog. How do I get smart race to lap count on both lanes on digital? As I mentioned only reads laps on one lane. Thanks
@SmartRace I figured it out, was not the app. Thank-you for always replying. The issue was the sensor in the track, it actually came away from the track. Scotch tape was only tape holding in place. Keep up great support
Sadly it will not work with my older Ipad and Iphone 7 bought around the same time. I assume the ipad does not have bluetooth 4. And my Dell laptop is windows 10. My android phone will not pair with the iphone either even though they detect each other.
You won't need bluetooth for the analog mode, only wifi. And your Android device should also pair with your iOS device (and vice versa). Please contact me anytime at info@smartrace.de and I'll try to assist you with everything. Marc
I love the smart racer app, but I am moving away from carerra digital because I just can’t have as much fun with digital. My question is is there a way to use a single iPad without a smart racer connect on another device? This is just to complicated for the kids to use. If I can have one iPad pointing it’s camera to the track it would be much easier.

Brilliant implementation. I was wondering what to do for analogue cars on Carrera and this has answered all my questions. Keep up the great work.
Love this feature! Thanks again!!
Great program. Well worth the price.
Thank you very much!
Saw there were a few versions of Smartrace - which would you recommend for a 4 lane AFX H O layout.
