- Funny, but also poignant and deeply serious. A great performer, but also an award-winning writer. Victoria Wood sadly died today at the age of 62. Stephen Smith took a look at her life and career.

For me, Victoria Wood With All The Trimmings, her Christmas Special of 2000 was probably the peak of her work. I remember watching it with my family back on Christmas Day we loved every minute of it. Along with Dinnerladies and Acorn Antiques - pure comedy gems.
An absolute comedy genius. Beautiful, funny, A real treasure. Loved her then, love her now. Rest in Peace
Watching her shows from the 80's . I thought they would be really dated but they aren't at all. Timeless comedy
"Beat me on the bottom with a women's weekly" has to be the best line ever sung. It gets me every single time.
Me too😂
She was a comedy genius. I loved her shows. Loved her.
RIP Victoria Wood. So many laughs that will be greatly missed.
I think of her a lot. Classic observation. Can't believe that she has gone. R.I.P. Blessings to her family.xx
It's Christmas and she is not here.. The time of year I miss her the most.
For me, Victoria Wood With All The Trimmings, her Christmas Special of 2000 was probably the peak of her work. I remember watching it with my family back on Christmas Day we loved every minute of it. Along with Dinnerladies and Acorn Antiques - pure comedy gems right?
This world has lost a beautiful talent. My condolences to her wonderful family.
One of a kind. With Julie they made comedy magic. We often use the phrase National Treasure loosely but Victoria Wood fully merits this accolade💓💓
Acorn Antiques, comedy gold. Victoria Wood, comedy platinum.
Proud to have been in the same class as you Vicki, will always remember the consulate cigarettes jokes. ❤️

RIP. I HOPE SHE HAS A LONG LEGACY
Rest in peace love. Being an urbane sophisticated chap myself, never did quite appreciate the Northern mill town humour- still, "mustn't grumble". Now in heaven with the likes Mother Teresa and Beryl Reid.
Miss her 😢

Never liked her growing up, now I'm a middle aged woman I find her hysterical. Fab

“Beat me on the bottom with a with a woman’s weekly “ LOL such an unforgettable line! 😅
I wonder if she singularly inspired the bowl haircuts so popular with teenagers in the 90's?

I'm not really sure but I think that Morrisey wrote a song about her called: you are the one for me fatty
NO Joanna got it because she is a true angel and cares for everything and everyone .
She should not even try to compare herself to Joanna Lumley . I liked Victoria W. but Lumley is a Unicorn, she is at a whole other level .
Morgan Olfursson fucking prick
Could you not have shown that funny joke she did once?
+Crouchy232323 u tryin to b funny?
Crouchy clearly has zero sense of humour & appreciation of genuine comedic writing. Sad, really.
