    The hilux and ranger strive to have as good a 4wd system as mitsi. I don’t know why people would think Mitsi is the one to catch them… how many Dakar rallies have they won..
    Also, the lane centring and lane departure systems are far too intrusive. I’m glad to see they haven’t implemented it in this.

      Hi-Lux have won 6 rally but for the Ranger nil cause they are just about to join next year, Ford was betting on their Bronco but failed to achieve its official time. The Mitsubishi however, have won heaps which is very impressive but to be honest, that front grill looks hideous.

    • @anthonyramdin1037
      @anthonyramdin1037 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +20

      Why is it scary? Sequential twin turbo setups have been around for a very long time.. Plus Mitsubishi has almost zero turbo problems. Mitsubishi heavy duty industries actually makes turbos so Mitsubishi motors know their stuff.

    • @Rockbottomsurf
      @Rockbottomsurf 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@anthonyramdin1037 let’s hope you’re right. I’ve always found turbos no matter how frequent I do oil changes to be a weak link. The heat, soot and wear occurs much faster than the rest of the motor. Having two just gives me reliability concerns.

    • @ardyaprilianta9732
      @ardyaprilianta9732 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +8

      Yes Mitsubishi makes generally reliable engines. However, Renault not so much. How much of Renault's hand involved in developing this ute is interesting to know. It's part of their alliance with Renault and nissan.

      @@Rockbottomsurfwell I mean considering the conditions a turbo works under, surely it will never last as long as the motor. That is a given for a turbocharger. But like I said Mitsubishi turbos are brilliant. My 2006 Triton still runs the original IHI turbo after almost 18 years and 172,000 km. Ofc turbo wear depends on driving styles, quality of oil, operating conditions and maintenance such as cleaning, maintaining gaskets, air filters etc.

      @@domlipski5226 We all have our preferences, I personally like the more square, tough look. This design style has become quite popular outside of the U.S as of recently. The new Ranger (best selling mid-size truck here in N.Z) and Amarok have also followed this trend, and I suspect a few more will too. The upcoming next-generation Navara will share the same flatform with this new Triton, which by default will give it this boxy shape (similarly with the new Ranger and Amarok duo). The next-generation Hilux is also said to be built on the same platform as it's American twin, the Tacoma and it's bigger sibling, the Tundra (which obviously are boxy designs).

And this is why most cars are stuffed up in design, to impress the motoring writers, take the ford territory, it got an irs, control blade rear that wears out in less than 100,00km due to 16 rubber bushes, when it should have had a coil solid rear axle, that never wears out. What buyer ever complained about the ride of a falcon wagon? No one. Only the press who want bmw performance not the mum and dads.

    The car makers are on a 'Turbo race'.They keep adding turbos,and sometimes using a smaller engine.In 5 years it will be 120cc with 11 turbos?!?How fkn smart is that??

    Wow, it doesn't have a stupid lane centring feature, which I would disable anyway.
    I'm the type of guy who will find the beeper and cut the wires or de-solder it.
    Then, I would wire the seatbelt wires together.
    I drive a 1996 Triton, carby, mechanical fuel pump. It's the most reliable car I've ever owned.

    Apologies if I missed it, But I don't recall hearing about the RPM range for KW and Torque which I've never heard mentioned when watching prior videos. Can you please ensure to discuss this important piece of information in the future? Thanks for the content. Cheers

    Is this a Mitsi or a Nissan/ Renault with a Mitsi badge? New engine? Unproven, Lots of redundant steel. Less efficient due to extra weight and of unproven relibility . Plus significantly more expensive.
    The best thing about this is that hopefully the runout models will be heavily discounted.
    More electronic gizmoseans more trouble down the line.
    I have a good laptop at home- the big screen is superfluous bling.
    Lane departure anscence is a positive geature in my view!

    I want this bakkie for company fleet. I have watched reviews on this bakkie.. i haven't found confirmation, when the rear diff is engaged do the front wheels disengage and lose traction ? or do they continue to behave like limited slip diff ?

    I hear many Americans refer to engine speed as RPMs? Is this a correct engineering term? A single minute is the unit of time engine crankshaft rotations are counted/measured, only one, not two or three, just one. Saying RPM is the correct terminology, the Aussie way. Apart from a slip of the tongue that was a good review. Cheers

    man, so many of these new style of reviewers focus on the trivial, make big deal about pointless stuff rather than the attributes of trhe product they are reveiwing . takes to 13 mins into the video to see any real driving info. is it just lack of skill or understanding or is it that the size of the badge ranks a mention but vital specs and how they chnaged make a real diff is glossed over just doersnt matter when ur mates cant see them as u pull into the driveway
    literally walking around the vehicle and pointing out the obvious and stoking the headlight and telling us blow by blow as u activate the controls doesnt help. some real nuance and discerning informatoin thats not hype , some critical comparison and high light of real poz n negs that are genuine rather than bluster and marketing
    even the videography is average and generic . poor effort, not happy try harder to have something useful to add of dont post anything and waste peoples time , cheers

    Softer springs aren't better. It means more sagging and poorer handling at high loads, but more comfort and less bouncing at light loads. Hilux tuning compromises different things, but isn't better or worse.
