- Andrea and Connor knew where to go when they wanted to give their daughter a fun day out. The girl couldn’t even speak full sentences yet, but she knew how to ask to see her favorite animals. She loved the zoo close to their home. It was a great zoo that had many enrichment programs for the animals and gave them as much space as they could. There was one type of animal she begged to see right away. Tigers. But visiting her favorite animal was going to go much differently this day. The tiger keeps bowing when he sees the girl, then they discover the sad reason.

When my friend got a horse, the mare had been left with a bridle on ALLL THE TIME, and wouldn’t allow anyone to touch anywhere near her mouth. After about 3 months, she let my friend pet her muzzle. No one else could. I brought my kids to visit…we went to see the horse, and my friend had given us some carrots but warned that we might not be able to hand feed her. I was talking to my friend when she looked at my son who was not only feeding the horse by hand, but was petting her muzzle and her chin.
The first time he’d had any contact and not one other person besides my friend had ever been able to touch the horse’s muzzle.

I had a cat call baby that always used to give me head butts, sadly she passed away just over a year ago. She was a feral about four weeks when found and 18 when she passed.

I used to do the publicity for Chicago's Lincoln Park Zoo and got to go behind the scenes all the time. My favorite part was being allowed in with all the babies in the zoo nursery. That's one lucky and special little girl and her tiger. 💖💖

Poor Koshi. That's so sad. This is a beautiful story. Tigers are seriously misunderstood. They are extremely intelligent. All cats no matter how big or small act the same. If you have ever had a head bump from your house cat that is what Koshi was doing. It's a very deep experience for anyone with empathy towards animals. I was fortunate to have a similar experience. Poor Koshi. To declaw a cat is horrible let alone a wildcat! now he can’t scratch stuff no more, cats love to scratch stuff and I’m assuming wildcats do too.
Not only do they like scratching it serves purposes. Obviously it keeps claws sharp and removes the old top layer which is normal and needed. It also, is thought, to be a sort of chiropractic adjustment.

I agree.. I told my hubby no f'ing way would I ever declaw a cat.. id divorce him if he ever even thought of doing so.. he'd already done so to two cats before I mtr him .. Grrrrrrrr You don't want your furniture scratch.. then get a f'ing gold fish....
Y'all sound so stupid. If my cat was scratching up my furniture all the time I would declaw it too.
The reason declawing is actually harmful to cats is it doesn't only remove the claw itself (think of it as your finger nail) but the actually remove the entire last bone of the paw the claw grows out of. Now sticking with the fingernail analogy, imagine trying to use your hands with the last little nubs missing! And how painful it must be to learn to walk on the nubs

I had the same experience as the little girl as a adult at the Denver Zoo. A tiger came up to the glass and put his paws up on the glass and put my hands on his paws on the glass and we roared at each other. I love tigers and I will never forget that experience.🐅🐅
