Just saw the "G" version of the angle grinder in-store. It has a different guard type - the protective cover is a removable piece of plastic, clipping on the guard. It allows fitting a wire brush.
Having more than one grinder is awesome..I have 3 set ups..1 with cutting wheel, 1 with grinding wheel and 1 with wire wheel..makes things move so much faster...still watching
I like the 9ft cord, extra brushes and the lock on the trigger...don't like that you cant remove the guard 🤷♂️..good show Benedict!..and remember..lefty loosey!..lol
Great value, can't really complain about anything. I do hate those cumbersome guards though - my oldest angle grinder has a guard that is open faced rather than having that big sticking out section that also prevents fitting the wire wheel. I've recently got an Erbauer grinder it has a removable guard and also it's in 2 parts so you can use it open faced or covered. All that said, I bought it to use exclusively with sanding disks so I won't have the guard on at all. I quite fancy one of those carving disks that are like a chainsaw - it would be great for carving (obviously) but they do look a bit scary and like they will spell out imminent death so I'm not entirely sure if I'll ever get one!!!!
Yes there's nothing quite like an infinite death wheel on the grinder! I may well "modify" the guard on the old one. The new one is under warranty for a while.
Nice video, Benedict :) The PWS 125 F5 manual - www.lidl-service.com/static/4731000615/314188_EN.pdf - shows 3 screws with the blade guard fixture. I don't know it it helps with guard removal, I own an older model :)
Many thanks! Yes they are great grinders but I will only cut the front off the old out of warrenty one. Many thanks for watching, please like, share and if you like the video subscribe!
It's 3mm steel. You couldn't cut it quicker with a hacksaw. However it is no where near as good a cutting disk as a DeWalt. I will do a short video comparison of the two soon. Thanks for watching, please like, share and if you like the channel, subscribe.

Good to know. Many thanks.

Fortunately my smaller angle grinder does have a removable guard.
Thanks for watching!

Many thanks Nate. Yes I remembered when I tried that you can't remove the guard. It's a pain. That said I will modify the old one!

@@BensWorkshop Good plan - just opening out the front face so you can fit the wire wheel is hardly going to make it into a killing machine.
@@GrumpyTim Yes, that is my plan! I just need to think about the neatest way to do it.
@@BensWorkshop Yeah, it's a tricky cut - you don't want to do a Jeremy Clarkson on it!!!!!
Good tools friend. Thanks for sharing
Many thanks, I am very grateful Alvaro.

Yes, I can see how to remove it, but clearly they don't want you to. I might well modify my older one.
Thanks for watching!
Great video, nice grinders but I would cut the front face off of them stupid guards, they are such a hindrance

That's a crap cutting disk I could of cut it quicker with a hack saw.
