Hey Mike, I watched your different Ducktales NES live streams and noticed on the lower cave part of the Amazon level when you go left for the 1st secret you never go left again for the 2nd secret. You can keep going left past the 1st secret for a 2nd secret. I have love for Ducktales like you and wasn't sure if you knew about the further secret. Just go up and over to the left like the 1st secret.
My first game. Very memorable Christmas. Had this and Dr. Mario to entertain me the entire Christmas break and it was probably quite a while before I was given another game. I know every inch of this game, although, it wasn't till decades later I found out about the 0$ ending. Kinda blew my mind. Its also the game that taught me about a leap of faith. At 7 yrs old, that was an amazing discovery jumping on all those frog things to find extra treasure. Good memories with this one.

Also about the Difficulty levels. Each difficulty level also determines how much damage you can take. Easy and Normal it takes a few hits until you lose a unit of life and Difficult it takes only 1.

the first game i ever beat the end boss and completed. on easy you have double HP and bosses take 3 hits, 5 on difficult. the hardest parts of the game are that 1 horizontal moving platform on the moon, and jumping out of the mine carts on Transylvania. i know the feeling of dying there over and over like mike experienced.

You get whole $7M from 5 bosses + 2 Hidden Treasures. Clearing each stage 2 times with most secrets will get You another $3M.
Ducktales 2 has a co-op mod, one player gets Scrooge and one gets Darkwing Duck, you could play it with James. The mod is called DuckTales 2 - Two Players Hack
I'm going to try just pressing A next time I ride those minecarts. I usually skip it because it's so damn frustrating. Mike dying repeatedly was like watching myself play that part.
wish they had game genie for the nintendo switch (newer systems as well like ps5 coming soon). games are too hard and frustrating for casual gamers as adults whose reflexes have slowed down and don't have time to dedicate to serious gaming...
They should redo Rescue Rangers like they did Ducktales remastered. Both were outstanding nes games, I wonder why they havent?haven't? You can determine difficulty by number of hit points and absence of health items.

LUL I think You found some kind of bug. On Difficult enemies enemies takes 1,5 HP from Your health meter and during rat fight on the Moon You have lost only 2 HP in 2 hits (You should be down to 2 health), very strange... Or maybe it was in DuckTales 2 actually.
I wish they would make a Donald and Scrooge adventure tv show or game set in the retro 1950s setting of the comics. It is a pity that they remade Ducktales instead.

Ive always thought the Moon level music absolutely sucks, it aint got shit on the music in Journey to Silius, or Metroids Kraids lair, even Batman 1st stage music is better then the Moon stage music
