I've got to say as a brickie for 30 years now here in England UK, that's cool.
You've got all the age and wear and tear in there.
Old aged bricks are unique and you've really caught that effect brilliantly.

I have been looking for something just like this. The best part of this stencil is the fact that its paintable if you want to change it. I can't image the work it would take if it were faux brick not to mention the dust it would collect in the curves and on the ledges. So much easy to clean when its still a flat surface but looks dimensional. I give it a thumbs up and your instructions were wonderful, and clear. I hope you still have some in stock.

Amazed how you are able to get such a cohesive end result using the same brush dipped in the multiple colors. I would think they would get mumbo jumbo/ruddy. And yet it works. I would want a separate paint brush in each muffin tin. Suppose that is why you are the pro with completed jobs and I am just a spectator too afraid to begin one? : ) Lesson learned, don't over think it JUST DO IT! Great job! Fabulous product!

Wow very nice can you do this over an old larger concrete wall?

    • @theorigingalwallstamp7046
      @theorigingalwallstamp7046  4 ปีที่แล้ว

It depends on how textured it is...I have Stamped on concrete, some are smooth, some are very prickly...if it is too textured, you can stamp and have the "template" of the brick, then go back in with a mini roller to fill in where the paint didn't transfer. I do have a video showing this process.
so it really depends on how textured the wall is and how much work you want to do.
I am happy to send any video you may need.

Hi! Could you please share the paint brands and colors (and even the brushes) that you used in this video? I am looking for this exact coloring for my home and I’ve never painted before. I can’t wait to purchase this stamp!!

Is there anyway to mix in some dry wall compound in the paint to make look more 3-d? This does look wonderful.

    Looks great!
I would also like to see a set of stamps that would be like larger field stones like on an old English cottage, the type of cottage that has the stucco and batten boards on the upper 3/5, and the stone on the lower 2/5 (avoiding the 1/2 and 1/2 or the 1/3 and 2/3s mistake that some do, or worse, with a 1/4 and 3/4 ratio or even more out of balance ratio)).
It would be really great to have three or four different stamps that had a set of varied-size and shaped stones in them, so they could be turned different ways and creatively fit together so it wouldn’t be too repetitive like the concrete stamps they use to make fake stone walls. The problem with them is that they are much too repetitive, they don’t remotely look real, and there’s no way to change it up.
So, it would be a cut above any other stamps out there that are sold to have a stamp set for painting a natural field stone look on larger projects like the side of a shed or outbuilding, or larger floor areas where a repetitive natural stone pattern is too obvious. They’d need to be clear, so people could see how it’s lining up, they could be used to keep the pattern more natural and random-looking... I buy a stamp set like that.
(Someone would do also do well to do this with garden paver molds; not everyone wants uniformity on their stepping stones in the garden, for example, uniformity is for bricks, but not for stones).
These would sell well, a set of stamps, with anywhere from 3-5 different groupings of natural stones, with maybe about 3-7 “stones” of varying sizes per stamp, for a total of at least 21 “stones” from the groupings and another 6-9 individuals to make a set of a good 30 stones that could be stamped in different configurations and any odd spots filled in with the individual stone stamps, one could really do up a more natural-looking stone wall. They could be sold as a kit, maybe the kit itself could be sold in parts or combinations, or all of them as the complete “best” kit, a better price for more stamps. And a set of more squared/rectangular ones and a set of more rounded edged ones would be good, too. I’ve looked around but I haven’t found anything like it for sale.
    .
The brick looks great and has its place, and for one of my projects I’ll consider these stamps, because they simply do not sell the brick in the color that I need. It’s very hard to get bricks in the right shade of grey or what they call “black”, which is the closest thing to actual grey I’ve found. Most of the time when they say it’s grey it’s actually a shade of brown, as if they don’t even know what grey is. Finding a charcoal grey brick or a grey with some variation of depths of grey...nearly impossible. But when you’re trying to look like you’ve got natural stones, that’s a different goal, and I’d love to see some stamps for those, ranging in stone sizes of 3” to 12-18”, with some more squareish and more rectangular than each other, like a proper English cottlage would have.
I just faux-finished clapboard siding and cottage windows on the plywood backside of a large potting/work bench that doubles as privacy screening (a fence requires a permit, but a 4’ deep x 8-12’’ long work bench with an 8’ high back with shelving...needs a heavy work top and front cabinet doors to offset the weight, but it works great), set on casters does not require a permit, and is far less expensive and more functional than a wooden fence. Just some 4 x 4 posts for legs and 2”x4”s and some sheets of plywood, well-painted with exterior paint and faux finished, runs about 10-15% of the cost of an ordinary wood fence, a lower fence at that, and is much more useful. And it’s solid privacy, not partial. I say this because someone could use your brick stamps on such a project and get the effect of a brick privacy wall that gives them a workspace and probably doesn’t need the neighbor’s permission or city permits. In my city, if it’s not permanently attached to the ground, if it’s mobile, no permit is required. A shed or outbuilding on railroad ties is technically mobile, too
If you have such a natural stone stamp set, let me know, I’m interested....
