i got a gsr swap from a car that was auto and went to manual but when i swap it into my car which is already a manual how do i rewire it to my car so the reverse would work??? i got a 96 civic hatchback
@@charlesarline5290 i found the wire from the tranny and went to the junk yard and got a pigtail that connect to the tranny and just wired everything together and it work.. it should be only 2 wires u can hot wire it too that what i did first but i end up just wiring it to a pigtail connecter that i found at the junk yard and connect it all together
So I did everything in the video, and the lights won’t come on. Everything else is good, and double checked to see if I had things in reverse and nothing worked. Anybody know if anything else could be wrong with it ?
Quick question bro! I did everything the same way, but the reverse lights never turned on when I put it into gear. Could it be the reverse sensor? Simple tutorial btw. Just what I needed.
Sean John Glad I (sorta) helped haha. Maybe the two wires were hooked up backwards? Try switching them around. Otherwise make sure you're connecting the wires to the correct ones on the shifter harness. If none of that works it might be a bad sensor or burnt out bulbs.
It helped alot actually. thanks! I'll check the bulbs out, if they're not burnt then how do you replace the sensor? You said its the one that runs from the transmission that you wired right.
Sean John Yeah the sensor is the black thing I showed. You might leak a little tranny fluid when you pull it out, not sure. It simply unscrews out of the hole and you can screw in a new one.
I just did the swap on my car and i do not have a reverse light connector right where your is? It looks like its just a plug. Does that mean it could be somewhere else? As long as it has a green wire with a black line going through it ?????
I already looked around the transmission alone. And the other sensors and wires I found were on the back which I am pretty sure were the speed sensor connector I'm thinking about just removing the plug in general IF it's possible, going to the junkyard steal a reverse light connector and hopefully that'll do the trick. Once I do the entire process of cutting and connecting wires
Hey bro i just wanted to know if you had any problems with the vehicle speed sensor after swaping the transmission to manual , did you have to modify any wires ?
Dani d Honestly guessed. Since they are both green and black it might just be they need to touch to complete the circuit. Therefore it wouldn’t matter.
Isaac Worley thank you I just got back home from work I'll try it this afternoon, my wire from my brake switch are rusty lookin not sure if that will cause an issue, BTW I ran the wires exactly like you did I just didn't connect it to the trans switch yet I'm a bit nervous lol I don't want a short , any ways thank you for always replying and your videos man seriously, I definitely subscribed a while back
@@IsaacWorley right? In the vid you can clearly see the connector resting on top of the trans. Same as my auto to manual swap d series trans. I have the plug just resting on the trans but the d series reverse switch is on top of the trans in front of the speed sensor. Even if his connector doesnt fit or reach i would take 2 wires and then connect instead of making new wires. Right?
Would this apply for the 90-93 integra also? I did a manual swap and im left with the gear switch that was connected to the auto shifter assembly do i cut that whole piece of?
On a 96-00 civic it's the grn/blk and yel/red wires
Thank you! So much easier to just watch than read about it haha
Very helpful, I recently did a auto to manual swap on a del sol.
Those wires have to be special for that or can any wire work such as the red and black speaker wire ? 🤔🤔
Thank you this was so helpful!!
Great video!!!!!
Is one wire leading to the switch always hot or is it a ground switch?
I did this and still have no reverse lights. Also tried reversing the wires and still nothing. Any ideas ?
Does this also work far an eg?
Where should this be at on a Honda civic 95 auto
Just did this today thanks so much for the video

darizo did u ever figure this out I’m trying to do the same thing can’t find anything

@Isaac Worley how hard was it trying to switch from auto to manual?

How did you do with the speed sensor?
You're the best.

Thanks for getting back to me btw. Im actually trying to do this asap. So i appreciate it man.

Itachi Hasashi Sounds like you cut off to many wires
Just kidding, I understand what you’re saying now. It has to be somewhere on the transmission. I have a y80, you might have a different version

Itachi Hasashi hmm yeah give it a shot. The sensor on the back is definitely the speed sensor. Let me know if it works!
can that wrk on a accord 99?
Hey bro i just wanted to know if you had any problems with the vehicle speed sensor after swaping the transmission to manual , did you have to modify any wires ?
Dani d I didn’t have to change any wires but I did need a new speed sensor because I got a gsr transmission
Isaac Worley me to 98 gsr transmission
How do you know which wire from the reverse trans switch is the power and which is ground
Dani d Honestly guessed. Since they are both green and black it might just be they need to touch to complete the circuit. Therefore it wouldn’t matter.

Why not just connect the trans wire to the auto harness plug is it bypassing a solenoid or something?
Devon exactly, no more solenoid on the manual trans, whereas the auto had one.

Devon I’m not 100% sure I understand what you’re saying, but I believe so, yes.
works on civic 93 d15b7?
They probably stay on the all time
