I say, I'm speechless. You never fail to amaze me. You captured the charm of the original animation style and the narration by Stuart sounded really good.
I was wondering when someone would have a go at Ivor around here! Absolutely lovely little tribute to a very underrated series. And Stuart is very suited to being a storyteller here, hats off to him as well! Stopmotion is a oddity nowadays in this community, but IVOR STYLE stopmotion? Unheard of! I need more! If this is a test, I can't wait to see what comes next!
Thanks so much! I thought the same; nobody writes or films anything with Ivor, and 100% stop motion videos are rare in this community still! Had to put that right. Animating paper on such a small scale was a real challenge, but one I'm willing to have another go at in the future. Stuart was the first port of call for the job, I knew he'd pull it off.
Well that was just lovely, totally in keeping with the spirit of the original programme. It really feels like a story they would’ve done. Great job on the animation, I particularly loved Jones’ gestures. Fantastic narration too!
this video brought back a lot of fond memories when they used to re run episodes of ivor the engine on telivision. it's a lovely piece of animation keep up the good work
The amount of precision and skill that made this animation possible is amazing! Thank you for taking the time to animate this wonderful piece of artwork and sharing it with us all! Cheers mate ! :)
Spectacular work! I love the style of Postage's work and you've captured the simple beauty of his style very well, the voice acting was also very solid. Lovely!
This is actually astonishing. Stop motion can bed a long and tedious process, but is extremely rewarding at the end! This was really nostalgic and you replicated the show perfectly!
That was amazing. It looked exactly like the original. It brought back so many memories. The voices were great as were the backgrounds. I wish you’d had the little dragon in but it was still gorgeous.
Thank you so much! I'd love to do more and perhaps a full episode in future when I get time as this was very fun to do. I agree, must feature Idris and the other dragons!
Ivor the Engine is such a classic, and likewise was this episode! I've got Ivor the Engine: The First Story in colour as a book, plus the whole coloured series on DVD. Keep up the good work! :)
Well considering the fact that the people who made the original could make about 120 frames a day while other animations took longer and made less frames in a day.
I've never seen Ivor but this is an amazing piece of stop motion animation. Solid Job Mate. I have no doubt this just as good as the original series. Very much on Par with Project Tiger Moth match Season 5 of Thomas. :)
This was truly great Max - such a welcome change from the usual Thomas content. Well done. ''Now I'll surprise you. Listen...'' I was in London this very morning. I went to 149 Tottenham Court Road for the first time ever. I've finally had a one-to-one with a representative of the official Team Thomas, and it truly looks like a long-held primary dream in my life is finally on course to becoming a reality. I'll keep further details under wraps for now, except I have asked them for a follow-up meeting. Having seen this beforehand, if there was any Thomas fan out there that I wanted to share my personally-rewarding news with, I chose it to be you. Wish me luck. Samuel F.
Thank you so much! I'm glad you enjoyed the change. As for your meeting, that sounds very interesting! I'm eager to know more. I've met some of the production team in the past and I wish you the best of luck with whatever it is you're doing!
I first watched Ivor the Engine some 50 odd years ago ! Could never forget the little dragon. 😁 He was of course light grey back then.... (before color tv). ♡♡♡♡♡♡💛💟❤💜💙💚
Absolutely fantastic!!! Very very well done!! Please please do more! Love Ivor the engine! Love the voice acting as well! I may have some ideas for some stories :)
Wow that was fantastic All look exactly the same as it originally created by Oliver postgate and Peter Fermin oh you just took me back to my childhood when I had it on VHS
Holy cow, this is amazing!! As charming as the original! Stuart does a smashing job narrating it. Just wonderful!!
Thanks so much!

Oh the nostalgia, it’s so amazing to see ivor up and running again. 😁
Thank you!
Someone could easily mistake this for a real Ivor episode
Great work!
That was wonderfully nostalgic - thank you very much for such a high quality production.
Really appreciated 😊
I was not expecting this..! A fine piece of work! I like how faithful it is to Oliver Postgate. I hope you do more like this Max.
