The rear wheel looked like it was shaking all over the place might need bearings.
500 tangs tangs, vibrate things loose all the time, especially round the back end, my CR500 had a nasty habit of vibrating the rear sprocket bolts loose.
75 rear wheel HP will shake things up!
@@martycech5844 When the swingarm is hardly moving and the wheel is tight, even500 rear wheel hp shouldn't be doing that.
At 62 I've been there and now I'm working my way back to a mini bike.

I wanna see the bridging an port work that's what makes me happy 😊 nice bikes. I bet it's eats up bearings if it idles to long lol killer bike. The porting is what makes all the extra power. The other stuff helps a lot but the porting is where it's at an that big bore
Not just port size, but shape, flow angle, even finish. If I were a gambling man, Id bet it had some port filling and re-angling done to make it happy.

I know filling the crank where the fuel hit on a nitro rc engine dose a decent amount along with port matching an all that good stuff so on a 2 stroke it's not much different. So I'm sure it's got the works done to it. I hope they show it but they might not ppl who port stuff are not happy about showing what they do it's a touchy subject to get info from port modders An research only give you so much advise
I am jones'n for my CR 500 1985. My bro had a close friend whoraced for factory honda and his mechanic did some work on it. First time trying to start it and i just about broke my knee! Just started viewing your channel and i really dig the pro U.S.A content. After i get my hip replaced i am getting new gear and looking for another 500 CR. I need to reach out to you and your friends when it's time. Keep up the positive videos, it really helps out.

proline motorcycles cranbourne victoria ,australia had a kx 500 finke bike that had 90+ hp. anthony has it on proline facebook page.said could have got more if the pipe was able to be modified more..but didnt have the space to do the mod.this bike was raced in the desert

Kaplan. Thank you for showing us some amazing bikes. Im building an 05 yz125. Original tires! All stock has about 12 hrs on it. Its my neighbors. Had a brand new Yamaha 450. It and another bike got stolen a year or so ago.. Insurance didn’t cover it. So to everyone out there, dont get complacent, lock your bike up good.

@@jamesbaxterandthebeachball7005 Its just the same old YZ490 engine in a updated frame with far superior suspension and brakes. Once you put some money into getting the engine right, then you can appreciate all the newer, better stuff.
@@dr.hugog.hackenbush9443 my last dirt bike was an 86 KX500 God I loved that bike. Almost killed a local youngin that liked riding with us. Told him ... never get behind me. Roosted right off his RM80 into a ravine . Spent a few months apologizing to his mom.

I saw that too I believe it has something to do with the GoPro camera and percussion of the exhaust affecting it you see it in drones without a stabilizing mount

You forgot to add Mike Weir to that list of obsessed with KX 500's.
I had a 550 KTM and it had a much more noticeable amount of low end compared to the KX 500. I bet this thing really makes some sweet power.
This will also make a lot of low end torque since its a 5+stroker.plus powervalve
@@conniestevenson226 I remember that The engine on my 550 would actually stop and I could give it a little bit of gas and it would start back up. I guess is because it had such a big fly wheel. But it did not have any type of Power valve so I bet you could really bring out some horsepower out of all of these bikes with power valve systems.

Those 88-era engines were designed by Edvind Boyesen, theres no tellin what powers lie within ✊🏻i would definitely change the number to 69, gain 4 horse all day!!😂🔥awesome !

We had one. No port not stroked. 105 up at the tire. 41.5 electron Q16 fuel. We also hold the land speed record for dirt bike on a kx500.

That pipe tuning that bluish color looks like Titanium to me. We weld repair Ti Jet Engine compressor impellers in a glove box welding booth with the air pumped out then pure Argon gas pumped back in. Exposure to oxygen when hot causes Ti to turn that cool color. Oxygen will also contaminate the welding process so we have O2 sensors inside the booth. And 75 HP is cool to see what is possible but diminishing returns takes effect, not only on the motor, but in how much power can be put to the ground that is useful. My CR500 kicks my tail with 60 HP as it is I can't imagine another 15. But chicks dig scars!

There is a sand hill at Glamis California that they use to line up to take your turn to try to go over the top with run what you brung ..i was there in 1978 ..there was everything in buggies and trucks ...i made. It over the top on a 1977 YZ125 after topping out at about 60+ in lose sand in high gear before i started up , then down shifting all the way to the top and just barely made it over ..it had rained all night and the sand dunes were brown soaking wet that were hard like a wet beach ..it was a once in a life time event..that morning anyways as by 2:30 that after noon it was all dried out back to white sandy dunes all lose again paddle tires only ..and my knobs useless ..so i loaded up and went on home .... But for a few hours the imperial sand dunes of Glamis California were soaking wet after a down pour the night and early morning rain storm ..that all that water soaked right into the dry sand without causing any wash outs just wet brown hard packed sand dunes of a wet knobby tire fast once in a life time ride
If I got to ride that beast I think id be yelling Yeah Buddy through every gear up to warp factor 10
