This build is fantastic. I wish they had that same fairing set up for the 501. This is much better looking and more modern that their current 501 set up. I wonder if it would even fit?
It can fit with some adaptation work but the main difference is weight the setup for the enduro bikes is much lighter and slim to match the smaller enduro bikes.
I love te First Aid kit bracket and how wide the tower is. My current tower has very narrow plates making it a pain in the ass with hiding wiring neatly.
Was the pastic vs metal handguard ever explained? Did i miss it? Is the plastic better because the break lever can get stuck when the metal handguard frame gets bent?
Just an update, I finally got around to ordering the switchgear shown, and for anyone else that is interested here are the part numbers: Headlight switch 50311070000 Flasher switch 50311029000 Adaptor for flasher 13011070060 These fit great and even connect into the 701 wiring loom with no changes.
@@ManuelLucchese1 hey Manuel, also wanted to ask - what black front fender did you use? I think I’ve heard you say in a video that the FE or EXC fender will fit the 701? Thanks again :)
Hi Maxime, thanks a lot! Yes I am building another 701 exactly like this that will race Africa Race in a few months, the only difference is I am adding an extra front tank to increase mileage! In the past had also another 701 build like this race Merzouga Rally with standard tank
That one as a double overhead cam instead of one like the huskie. It's arround 20kg heavier then the huskie but the huskie has arround 17hp more. All in all, the AJP is well equiped, but a 701LR is still better out of the box. You need to add way more stuff to the AJP if you're thinking to do a long trip.
Nice :) Im prefering the company with name Rade Garage, they do lot of testing of components before release and also they have road legal lights for EU. www.radegarage.com/parts/ktm-701-fairing-kit/
I think it depends, some people want to customize their bike so it looks like a Factory Dakar Bike others simply enjoy the process of building an enduro bike into an adventure bike. I haven’t had yet the chance to try the AJP PR7 but very curious to try it, unfortunately italy doesn’t have a big dealer network for the AJP and this might also be the reason for some to go with a Husqvarna 701 or a Ktm 690.
Fat Freddy sure but I still didn’t see any AJP race Africa Race, the electrical wiring of certain devices would have to be made also on the AJP to make it meet the rallies regulations
@@CantPickTheNameIwantif your only consideration is cost and the list of things you get for that, that depends on how much the kit costs. In that case you're likely right. For me the 100lbs less weight in the 701 is highly important to me. Picking up a heavy bike is very exhausting. Managing a heavy bike off-road takes a lot more energy too. Cruise control and a decent windshield are the only missing things on the 701. But, KTM/Husky is coming out with a 490/501 adv bike that will be a 2022 model. A PARALLEL TWIN! That bike will be everything the 790 is with some good weight savings. That bike might be the perfect in between! And an 890 adv I'd coming. An article said the 790 will go bye bye. 490/890cc. Just like how they did 790/1290 and no more 1190. Are they still making 1090s? So it looks like we will have 490/890/1290. Bigger hang down tank on all of them. 1290 spy shots prove it for that one. The 390 is not really an adv bike so I think it will not be produced long unless it's that popular in Europe/Asia. They are big on tiny bikes
@@awakeadventurer9198 Don't get me wrong, I'm not a fan specifically of 790, I'm just trying to see things from a practical point, and currently from my perspective 790 is the best choice. Let's see what they gonna show us with 490/890, I saw a Husky 901 prototype/concept and it looks nice. Plus parallel twin on 501 should be a mind-blowing headshot! I can't wait to see your 701lr build.
i wish all manufacturers will listen this guy
This bike build is awesome !!!!
Bellissima 701 ! ne ho fatta una così con i tuoi componenti. La prossima la rifaccio ma cambio sospensioni e ruote anche !
Great build. I like that you did it with a white frame model .
This is absolutely bonkers! And I love it
The bike looks amazing! Nice work 👍
I like the handguards. I also prefer the plastic ones over the aluminium ones
Why?
Very nice explanations, can you add some action plans where we can hear the bike and just see it rolling ? That would be nice !
Beautiful bike Manuel good work and amazing video! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Gioielleria bravo Manuel!
It's one of the most amazing bikes I've ever seen. I'd just worry about it getting stolen on the road. Great build though.
Grazie!! Excellent build and very informative 🏁👍🏼
Grande Manuel! Stupenda🤟
super good filming!
Stunning bike brother...awesome build!
Great build Manuel! Very nice bike and you did an excellent job n the video.
Da paura!!!! Complimenti!
Thank you for the clear explanation
Keep up the good work! I am subscribed from now on

How do the headlights compare from the two kits?
Bella davvero. il 701 mi interessa per qualche viaggio in futuro. Vediamo. Complimenti per il lavoro e la presentazione!

Amazing!
GREAT BIKE GREAT VIDEO.THX.
Is that decal kit going to be available anywhere? Great build!

You need the Ram mount rear view mirrors too!
Nice build. I would add Double Take mirrors instead of the OEM ones :-)
Still waiting for that 701 LR Kit 😉

Nice 👍. Missing side fairing - good for weather protection. Is that led hella light is a fog lamp ?
Pretty beatiful build and video
Great job 👍👍

Really nice. What was the part number for the light/indicator switch? The only one I can find (EXC) looks different to what you have there. Thanks.
look at pre-2016 bikes. anyhow the new ones should fit

Will this kit work on the on the 701 SUPERMOTO
How much work do you have to do to a 701 SM to convert it to the LR package ? (Enduro)
Did you guys modify the Leo Vince slip on exhaust ride location?
very cool mods
how much is this kit? looks sick af
Bellissima veramente bellissima.
Nice bike, overall cost of the mods?

if u reprograms the ecu u get more cv

Fantastic
Is that tower made for the 501s? The 701 is just too much bike for me and my limited skill set.
Looks the part man na use pdm 60 for your rally tower power no fuses to deal with
