If you're doing a Les Paul with humbuckers, you will want at least 500K pots. There are some people that use 1meg, but that is pretty bright for my liking. Telecasters use 250k. So, 500k is a medium. There is a video on TH-cam from StewMac that the guy makes a switch device to show the difference in the sound of the capacitors you can use (.022 or .047). As many will tell you, trust your own ears, not what someone else is using. If you call or email the manufacturer of your pickups, or a supply house (guitar parts, not general electronics), they can usually advise and guide you. Personally, I like to only use Bourns pots because they are well made and are quiet, no scractchy sounds. Others will tell you they are junk and you should use CTS or another brand. You'll find it is like saying "what car should I buy". You have Chevy fans and Ford fans, and then you have those that wish they had bought the other. To put in today's terms, "what crypto should I buy". You're going to get a LOT of different replies.
Hello, very good job, could you tell me exactly what parts should be purchased for replacement?

cool vid - I'm just straint to tinker around with soldering also....
Thanks Den :) Being able to solder (although pretty poorly, I have to admit) has opened up a whole new facet of chasing guitar tone for me.
