I have a severe, nonverbal, developmentally delayed, self injurious autistic son, grown now but due to many miscarriages I was asked if I wanted to do testing while pregnant. I said no because if I didn't want to abort even if my baby had a genetic disability. He was born with autism and I believe he's a gift from God.

Every life given is precious. Period. God loves life and that includes all lives. In the world today, we've lost that basic truth. See the crimes and news, you'll see the end results of devaluing the value of LIFE.

Well we wanted to know, it's just personal preference to want to be prepared. We would have kept our baby regardless too but needed to know to prepare. Both options are ok

@@surlespasdondine I totally understand that. Like parents also want to know the gender so they can prepare in advance. My family was superstitious and didn't hold showers until after the baby was born. I was fortunate enough to be somewhat educated on children with special needs but we never expect it. I was 28, didn't drink ,never did drugs, didn't drink caffeine, took prenatal vitamins before and during pregnancy and ate healthy. So it's good for parents who want to know to get the test.

I also don’t think there’s any genetic testing that can detect for autism anyways. Genetic testing cannot check for everything I think.

I was 39 in my last pregnancy.
The doctor demanded , that I do the down syndrome test.
That test had a risk of 1/100
The possibility for the child to have a problem was 1/1000.
      The risk was too high.
The possibility of conceiving a healthier child in the coming years not very strong.
      I refused the test.

My wife and i did this it was super stressful having to shoot her up with hormones etc etc. embryo implantations and miscarriages. Then insurance capped out and we dipped into our savings. 100k later we gave up and got a puppy. The night we brought our pup home she woke me up at 3am with a positive pregnancy test. We have a 3 year old boy now and he’s a gift to everyone who meets him.

You will succeed. Just take time to heal. Listen to your body. Eat good food. Laugh a lot. Love each other. Cry together. This is extremely difficult and you will annoy each other. It doesn't mean anything. Forgive each other during this time. I wish all good things for you two.

Watching this while holding my 1yo for a nap, brings back so many memories and tear jerking. My wife and I went through 2 rounds of IVF 8 years ago. The second attempt my wife had to do by herself while I was stationed in Korea. We were blessed on the second attempt with our son. Three years later we were blessed with our second, who was our rainbow girl after a miscarriage 8 months prior. And now with our third child (2nd girl) we were blessed again after complications during the pregnancy. All of them healthy.
What I’m saying is, I know your struggle, and I pray that a nice, well deserving married couple such as yourselves receive the joy of a child. All the prayers for you.

I am always astounded at what IVF costs in the US. My one IVF, with ICSI, with karyotyping, with genetic testing, with freezing, with two frozen transfers, all meds, we paid about €3000 in Germany for everything with amazing staff who felt our sadness and celebrated our successes. I specifically remember paying €8 for a certain medication that cost over $460 in the US. I feel very lucky to have been living here at that time in our lives to having been blessed with two pregnancies/children. You are daily in my thoughts and prayers for an amazing outcome.

As someone who has struggled with fertility struggles and miscarriages, plus an adoption that fell through it was beyond devastating. When my YOUNGER sister was pregnant with her third my husband and I sobbed (we love our nephew dearly though). But after all of the ups and downs, our son had a due date on Easter Sunday and our daughter was due Christmas Day. We lost a baby between our two living children on Christmas morning.
I'm rooting for you two ! You two remind me so much of my parents. My mother is from Germany and my dad is from a tiny town in Iowa. They have been married for almost 35 years.
I'm so glad that you two have done so much research and advocating for yourself. Jesse - he is a keeper! Having a husband that looks out for you and puts your health needs first is
    priceless.

I am a single parent by choice, and I went through a decade of IVF with both egg and sperm donors due to my own significant medical needs. I had loss after loss (stage IV endometriosis...I feel your pain, girl) and it tested my will to live on a daily basis. But when you're holding your baby (even when they're not genetically your own!), all of this will fade away and you'll find your true bliss. When you've worked this hard to build a family, every single moment is a little more precious. Good wishes coming from NY! ❤

I’m adopted and I remember my dad telling me one time how upsetting it was for my mum when everyone kept asking when they were going to have a baby. Back then she was told she was ‘barren’ and it was devastating for her. I always try and be very careful when speaking to people because I can imagine how it must feel although I think the pressure is not as strong these days. All that aside, you seem like a very genuine, warm, caring and generous couple, especially with sharing your private and painful details in the hope of helping others figure it out. You seem so loving and understanding to each other and your love is strong enough to last the course. If you truly reap what you sow then you definitely deserve that baby to shower love upon after all the good you have put out. I continue to keep you in my thoughts and pray for a positive outcome.

I agree with Alessio 100% about how the US does things vs Europe. I'm pretty disgusted with the system here honestly. Too much unnecessary medical treatment and procedures are pushed here but not in other countries. I don't believe that it would be the US doing things better, no, it's a money grab!
Also, when you guys mentioned how any abnormal cells can actually be taken care of by the body, that's so cool to hear! I had never heard that before! Sounds like that's also another huge difference between the US and Europe.

Because we were in our 30's we were turned down by state adoption agencies because they had a 10 yr wait list and said we'd be over their age limit by the time we were at the top of the list. My wife and I did IVF and came out with 11 embryos through the first cycle. Paid $12k for 2 cycles + medicine. We live across the border from Mexico and paid about 2-3k for medicine over in Mex. The IVF company has an office in Tx but the actual transfer of the embryos is done in Mex. We maybe spent 15-16k on our first pregnancy. As far as traveling we maybe spent $200 because we just drove over to mex and back in a single morning to do the transfer. They encouraged us to do 2 embryos at once so we did and everything worked out perfectly so we had a set of twin girls born in 2022. Currently my wife is pregnant again and paid 4-5k for the embryo transfer and gender testing or “eligender” of 6 embryos. We had 9 frozen embryos from the first time so now we have a boy on the way. We were encouraged to transfer 2 embryos again, but we decided 1 was more than enough 🤣. Overall we spent about 20-21k with 2 transfers and 3 babies later (1 on the way)

First off I want to say that I love you guys and wish you all the best!
I would NEVER think that you would have relationship problems nor divorce over this.
I see you as a strong couple who sincerely love one another and would work as a team to achieve what you can!
At the age of 17, I found out that I had cysts on my ovaries and had all the pain and symptoms that Jess had. It was VERY painful. I had endometriosis.
I had to have both tubes and 1 ovary removed.
And a few years later I had to have my remaining ovary removed.
    That was 42 years ago.
My fur babies are my children.

Yes, i found it helpful talking with friends, mum. A lot of emotions involved, we would build our hope up during treatment, then when it didn.t work felt gutted for about a week then started thinking about the next treatment and hope slowly build up again. After 5 goes we have the most beautiful daughter we could ever dream of. God's blessing and prayers help too.

The most precious thing you have already. Your love. Such supportiveness from both of you for each other. Happens very seldomly. And such a joy to watch, that something what you have, is even possible. Always be aware that you got a very very special gift in life already. And children would only be an extra. But if it’s not meant to be, i hope you can enjoy your life and love nonetheless. All the best to heal from the illness and the pain!!!

I know exactly how you feel. I've been trying to get pregnant for 16/17 years. I also have endometriosis and poly cystic ovary syndrome. Both my tubes are blocked. I've just been referred for IVF in the UK. Just waiting for my appointment. Fingers crossed for you both. My doctor won't do anything about my cysts or endometriosis which is confusing and hard because I suffer nearly every day with pain. Looking forward to watching your Journey. All the best! ❤

Crying listening to you talk about the pain of not conceiving when everyone around you is getting pregnant - etc…. Been there and understand (took 3+ years) Praise God he had a plan and not only 3 children but 4 grandchildren. You do not speak of your faith but I would say “Faith Moves Mountains” and He holds our hands until the Mountain Moves!

I Wish you all the luck in the world🙏🏼 you got this❤️
Stay positive, try enjoy life, so your body relaxes.
We have been through it and it’s hard. All the shots I got gave me only 2 eggs and a lot of non mature ones, they stopped at day 4. Progressing. I was devastated.
I talked to the clinic. And we decided to take a two month break because of the stress and started a new cycle and then I got four blastocyst.1 was put back, but didn’t stick. I felt hopeless. But, gave it a go again with 1 of the 3 frozen, and now I’m now 7 weeks pregnant. It’s been a hard road. And still can’t believe it and I’m afraid something bad will happen.
It’s nice to see that you to love each other and support each other. My husband does the same thing for me and that meant/means a lot mentally.

Hi, I’m following you for a very long time since that I’m also a foreigner in Italy and married to an Italian :) interestingly, we had to pass from IVF also and I’m surprised that I found this video. I wanted to write this comment because I also have endometriosis and got pregnant with a PGT tested embryo. My clinic recommended PGT to understand the source of the problem if the transfer fails to implement ( chromosome or uterine problem ). Luckily I got pregnant 🤰at the first transfer that we got from second egg retrieval. I wish you guys good luck ❤️

Native American Choctaw medicine for female pain and I had endometriosis 1/4” teaspoon of nutmeg you can pick up at the grocery store. You can put it on vanilla, in milk, or dry in mouth with water chaser. I kept a bottle at work in my desk drawer. It takes about 30 minutes for to work. I was laying down curled up in my bed to pulling weeds in my garden and mowing the yard. Works for cramps too.

After I wrote this comment, one of your answers touched my soul, and I must share it with you. When Jessi said that she knew she had to work on herself about responding to others when babies are in the conversation…..I have felt so anxious about my responses to others since my son passed away close to Christmas. Jessi, you gave me the courage to realize that I must work on myself and understand that others don’t know what to say….so thank you for showing this almost 67 year old mother how to care about myself and others. Thank you.

I have appreciated and respected the two of you since the first day I met you more than a year ago. You are a delight to watch together. But your journey with IVF has totally increased the amount that I respect you and your messages. So many people wonder about the truth and experience of IVF. You are so genuine. I wish more people who need to know could access you. I just happily came across your reels when I was googling info on Italy prior to visiting the beautiful country. Keep up your good works.

I’m so proud of the mental & emotional work you’ve both done. It’s really so important. Good job!!
I’d love to share my story but not sure about doing it on TH-cam. 🤦‍♀️
Short version-my only child was stillborn. I’m now 56 & 5 years ago had GYN cancer and had a radical hysterectomy (which is next level in terms of no more hormones.) of course the chemo was awful, but I feel good now.
Omg-my therapist of ten years died of the flu right when I was getting over chemo & ready to get back to my therapy schedule. The whole thing was awful. But time really does help. And a good psychiatrist ❤️.
I wish you the best. If you have each other, you’re going to have a great life, no matter what. You’re a good match, J & A!! Very lucky to have found each other. (I’ve never been married… )
I’m so proud of you both. 👍👍👍

I’m the 2nd of 5 children, my mother is oldest of ten, her mother was 4th of ten. My mother was great for the most part, being sensitive to my loss, including loss of fertility in my 40’s. She had been so worried for me how it was going to feel when that happened. So.
Yikes… been crying watching the video & now the memories. It’s ok, though. I just take advantage of the positives in my life at this point. Take comfort in the positives.

I'm so thankful for your informative videos about this IVF. I hope only good for your journey❤.
Me and my husband have also started our own IVF journey, but in our case qmy husband probably can't have biological children. (he has chromosome syndrome that causes that.) We are very early in our journey, and that's why it has been so nice to watch your videos to see what we might have up against. In few months ,he is going in surgery, and if everything goes well, my turn is soon after. If not, I might have to wait maybe half a year or longer that our turn comes in the doner line. The waiting part is the hardest thing I think.

    Good luck on everything!
When my husband and I were thinking of names we had the opposite problem, endless boy names we agreed on, almost no girl names that both liked.
Also, any guy feeling awkward giving a sperm sample, just remember everyone in that clinic either works there and is thinking about a to do list or their next meal, or they are thinking of the reason they are there to give a sample/are nervous too. Nobody cares about your dealings but you.
