The railway truly is a work of art, Alexander, I could watch trains running on it all day! And it even has Jurassic Chickens!

Just amazing, and it's a good length too. I love it when a garden line carries live loads, even if it's impracticle and entirely an excuse for running trains outside. (I've been wanting to start a catnip garden at ground level just to have the trains carry the harvest.)
Also, is the diesel an RC-battery?

The weed train actually started because I was just leaving the weeds beside the track after pulling them out, but sometimes they grow again. So it's quite practical in that regard! Yeah the loco is battery powered and radio control.

Loved this quirky video! Especially where the loco noticeably picked up speed.
(Does the railway run entirely within your garden or does it also use 'public' land - it seems to go on forever?!)

This railtrack is one of the most inspiring layouts I've seen on youtube, congratulations!. I have some questions: What Radius track curves do you use? What is max % slope in your layout? How do you control your locomotives ( are all RC?). What diameter do you recomend to build tunnels? What blade do you use to cut the plants with the powertool battery cutter? And most important question: When will you upload another fantastic video of your line? I'm really waiting for it! Regards, R

Thanks Roger! The minimum curve radius on the main line at the time of this video was about 900mm, but some alignment improvement works since then have increased it to about 1100mm. The steepest gradient is about 1:18, though it averages about 1:20. I think that's 5%? Everything is controlled by 2.4ghz digital radios, though the power source varies. The loco in this video is battery powered, but most of the rollingstock that runs on this line is powered by the 32v overhead wire. There is also some live steam too. The line's loading gauge has a maximum width of about 130mm, though it can be a little less for long cars, and a minimum overhead wire height of 200mm in the tunnels. That's a scale width of 3.2m and height of 4.8m. The mower car up until recently had a blade made from a sharpened bit of old hacksaw blade, though lately I have been trialing using whipper snipper line instead. It needs a higher RPM motor to cut well, but is less likely to cause damage to the rail in the event of a derailment. Anyway hopefully new video soon!

@@melbournesparks3828 Thank you! Such detailed answer is really helpful. I just started to draw my own layout ( Which is extremely difficult, the trains need to go uphill 190 cm, and I'll be forced to make a 350cm deep tunel inside a massive wall). Can't wait to watch your next video!

Beautiful railway! I like the basket for the chicken feed. It reminds me of the rail cars that haul sugarcane from the fields to the refinery. I really like the locomotive weathering. Could you tell me the manufacturer and type locomotive?
