Hi Jon, nice meet-up. I have the same cut-off for Hawkwind. I have a nice UK OG of Black & Blue, which is one of the first records I sought-out after getting back into vinyl. Cymande is great, although the last track jolts a bit. Wow the photo of the Thirsty Beaver could be from Up. But you seemed to have a good time there. Cheers Dale
Hey Dale! It was a nice meetup. I did have a copy of Quark, Strangeness and Charm but purged it because it was too straight ahead rock. Not that I don’t like some straight ahead rock, but it’s not what I want from Hawkwind. The Thirsty Beaver is the pride of Charlotteans that have been in the area for 15+ years. A middle finger to unnecessary high-cost condos that are creating an affordable housing crisis. But that’s for another day and video. 😂 Hope all is well! Cheers ✌🏻

I need to work on a beard. I felt like such a yankee walking around with a naked face. It will take 3 or 4 years to grow one though. I am blown away by how much you bought, that is crazy, wow. So many of those groups I have no idea about. Where were the Pink Floyd or Beatles records! You took some excellent footage. Thank you for taking the time to come out and hang out. My favorite time was having some beers. Looking forward to doing this again.

He used to play more regional shows around where I live. I’m sure he was playing tons of weekly gigs early on. He grew up about an hour and a half from where I live. I didn’t learn about him until 2016. I have his album from that year - Carolina Ghost.

We had a good time at the record stores too. I chatted it up with Steve a good bit at Noble. But it was nice to just chill awhile after. I’m glad Steve made it by the farm. One of these days I’ll swing by there. Maybe next year when Bill is in town, we’ll overwhelm you with two full families. 🤣

I recently ran across a bunch of Blue Grass records at an antique mall. I didn’t get to check them out since I was with my wife. I’ll go back later this week. Sounds like a great day.
