If you were to create another group from these eliminated trainees, who would they be, and what would be their group name, general concept, and positions?
Ua, emily, ezrela, adela, lexie, and mei would be my second group. They would have a cuter/softer group concept than katseye because theyre younger. Kinda like twice, how they started cute and matured over time.
You have no idea how much I would love to see Lexie, Ezrela and Emily in a Group/band. They were always my favorites, and it was so cool to realise what good friends they are during the documentary. Maybe include Samara as a main vocal, and voila.... another girl group 😅❤
Putting a group together has to visually look and compliment each other. Katseye right now looks cohesive, same heights and visuals making choreo looks better. If we have a group of 6 strong vocalists or 6 rappers or 6 strong dancers there would not be a group. Each one has to have a role/position to fill the empty gaps and to support for each member.
The current KATSEYE line up makes sense and is well balenced but after seeing the Wannabe performance I really think HYBE should've debuted a double gg bc the line up for that mission was so cohesive but none of them would've fit with the current KATSEYE members
i really wish hybe would’ve realized how amazing emily and ezrela are together, because a group with those two (no matter who the other members are) would’ve really been amazing. i’m so sad actually 😢
It was clear from the start how Emily has always been the BEST DANCER in the show. She has the techniques and versatility to easily adapt, even her teams were always praised for their teamwork and chemistry. I'm so glad how the documentary only showed more how GREAT she is. She is a born performer. She literally wowed the executives since day 1 with her charismatic heel performance (contrary to what some people pushed about her being only "cute"). She was the TOP 3 trainee in their overall evaluation, she's the only one who achieved Level A and she received high judges score in the finale. Despite having no experience as a singer before, she keeps working hard that the vocal coaches praised her growth and confidence. She has distinct vocals from Wannabe, Girls Don't Like and All The Same. Many people (even Lara and Samara) have said that she is similar to Britney. It's unfortunate that the only reason why she couldn't debut was because she had low votes, but nevertheless, her talent and hardwork are so admirable. The executives, instructors and even her fellow trainees love Emily and wanted her in the group. Emily is exceptional and I hope she can debut as a solo artist in the future. She's absolutely talented, hardworking and can carry herself. Even after the show ended, she's continuing on training and working on music. She's also an actress. She is filled with passion and potential. She deserves to get better opportunities in the industry and I can't wait to see how her career will flourish.
@@EKCristobal The fact that they even call her The Michael Jackson of T&D. It's so impressive how much she was acknowledged and appreciated for her talent. Emily is remarkable 👏
It's sad but she was never going to make the group based on her visuals alone, this industry values visual higher than talent, and even though Emily had SOOOO much talent, skill, and dedication, the moment they included fan voting it was over for her unfortunately. She never had a chance.
@@icebreaker5303She is extremely talented but I just don't see her blending with a group much less with the girls that were chosen for the group. I see her doing great things in the future as a solo artist or dancer tho
They should’ve put Adela in vocals in place of Celeste. I think Adela would have not been eliminated. She always ranked high when it comes to the judges and HYBE but because she ranked last of the fans votes she got cut. If the documentary came out before votes I bet she will also rank high with fans but because we didn’t get a deep dive into her until after she lucked out.
I always thought it was super unfair we weren’t able to see the trainees abilities in performing both singing and dance before eliminations. Adela didnt have much screen time bc she was eliminated right away and I didn’t find out until way later on her personal instagram that she’s a great singer. Had I seen her demonstrate her vocal abilities it would have made a much larger impression on me and impact my voting decision.
I think they put people like Lexie and Celeste in vocals over dance in order to give them a fair shot. Lexie was still realistically recovering from a surgery and Celeste hadn't been training in dance nearly as long as some of the others. I think they assumed that Adela would be able to hold her own in dance even if she was more of a vocalist and wanted to give some of the other girls a fairer shot.
I feel like they knew that if they kept adela longer in the competition, she would get more votes bc of her talent & skills and make it into the group. Thus they gave her a smaller, less impactful part of the dance to get her eliminated as fast as possible. Look at which roles the final katseye members had in their 1st missions: impactful and eye-catching.
Hinari was in the same position as abby as needing time but they were so desparate for 20 contestants they made her compete instead of delaying the show for her to train
Always thought lexie was definitely going to debut cause she was one my first people that caught my attention and i also thought hybe was pushing her.... I do think she would have made the debut lineup if she hadnt dropped out
I thought so too. Lexie definitely had star quality and was apparently a company favorite. Still, her visuals were quite cutesy / youthful, and it seemed like they were going for more of a mature appeal in the end.
they should've showcased the trainees' talents before the first mission, so the audience knows who they are and their skills. eliminating after one mission when we dont even know these girls or their talent is bizarre. kpop survivial shows at least had fancams, auditions, and behind the scene cuts before the first elimination, but this show really had nothing. you want performers who can sing and dance, not just one or the other, so dividing them based on position was weird. i did not (and still do not) find adela's expressions in pink venom very flattering for her face/visuals. And sadly, i do think that played a part in her elimination, despite her clear confidence and dance capabilities. that's why korean survival shows cared if someone looks great on a screen, or if someone can visually capture your attention. but through the documentary, i got to see her talent and beauty and i finally got it. if she had more time, she wouldn't have been gone so fast and it wouldn't have felt so unfair for her and the DA contestants.
I thought the same way about your first point, too. The fast-paced nature of the survival show format and the target date for debuting the group were unfortunately why the trainees didn't have solid opportunities to fully showcase everything they could have to the public.
Adela is so talented. She's been chosen as the punching bag of the show. I mean, I understand. It's easier to judge because of what we saw on the show. I just wish people would step back and realize that it's been a long time, and we dont know everything. That aside, I agree with how they said she'll thrive as a soloist. I can't wait to see how she explores that.
many many were "so talented" and she choose herself "as the punching bag" and started talking about some representation bs... on camera (probably lightened her wording) so why her...?
Same I think with time and patience it can happen I even said if SAMARA Emily EZRELA marquise ILIYA ADELA Celeste and NIASHA UA and HINARI and Abby come as group with Lexie it would be unstoppable
It is really nice once a 6 member group katseye have the same heights.Emily is obvious not to be a member bcoz of lack of heights even how good you are.
This. Because she is short, people automatically put her in the "cute" concept, when she's a fierce performer with amazing versatility. She never did anything cutesy before joining Dream Academy and even during their training, she exudes charisma and she's the only one who perfectly executed the heel performance that she even achieved Level A. She is clearly the best dancer. Despite having no experience as a singer, her improvement and confidence with her vocals is so good that even the vocal coaches praised her. I'm really glad that the executives and instructors recognized her talents from the beginning until the finale. They even gave her high judges score and wished she gets in the group. That's how great she is. Hopefully, she gets better opportunities. She can shine brighter as a solo and she has the potential to go big in the industry. Edit: Before the finale, the executives praised Emily for complementing and working well with the girls as a team. They didn't mind her "height" at all and it's only the DA fans who don't like the short girls. She's not even too short and her height is just close to Daniela (look at her recent Instagram photo with them on the fan event). She can easily just wear high heels. But anyway, even if Emily didn't debut, she's truly impressive that even the experts acknowledged her talent, work ethics, personality throughout the documentary.
I wanted Emily, Nayoung and Samara so bad it breaks my heart 🥺 (Lexie and Adela are also my personal favorites but I totally understand this wasn’t for them)
I am not affected anymore ive been watching kpop survivial shows since bigbang and theres should not be any drama or igniting dramas after the show. it all boils down who fit the group as a whole. As long as they continue to do their own dreams they will meet at the end
I was voting for Emily since the beginning, i was SO MAD when she didn’t made it. Brooklyn also was one of my pics, don’t get why the heck she barely had any screen time. At the end of the day my only pick that debuted is Lara 🙃 My other picks were Brooklyn, Emily, Samara and Ezrela
Adela was the most talented member of this entire crew. They did her dirty not putting her in the vocal group, because while her dance is awesome, her voice is her truest attribute. Im really happy that shes putting out music on her own (go stream if you havent its genuinely really good).
it’s not just about talent. if that’s the case, then there are way more talented people outside of this group. it’s also about visuals, charisma, marketability
@@taylorswifteditsl3bruh it’s because Samara is literally canceled, she liked posts of people hating on katseye and is even part of a church community that supports Israelis if she debuted it would be problematic.
@@Aminah-jw3gf was that even confirmed though, or you just heard it from someone else, saw I few clips online? I don't know much about her controversy, but some comments I read said it's true, some said it wasn't and that the controversy was blown out of proportion to dissuade voters to vote for her because she was always one of the top and some want other trainees to debut and not her.
it just makes me so happy to see all the other girls that didn't get in have sucessful careers in dance and music you know emily is choreographing Adela's new mv which is fucking amazing and while I love every member of Katseye I hope we can understand that Manon survived on Votes like she just did Emily was a better Dancer and Samara was a better singer she survived on a Fandom which is not very uncommon industry I don't hate her it's just the honest truth
I am brazilian anr my girl samara was sabotaged, all the things about her scandald were fake. Samara follow a account of a church of her village and people mistaked for a big probelmatic church that is in sao paulo. Also about the israel vs palestine and she liked a video of a girl explaning what was going on because at the time after the attacks nobody knew what was happening and the girl were giving information and not taking any side, samara liked to help people understand better. To this day she gets hate for things she did not do it, take out of context and just made it by people who don't speak portuguese. 😢😢😢
@@Dolphinboi she did not like anything, it was fake news. Why people who did speak portuguese assume what we in the post, for god sake they accused the girl like genocide stuff.
I watched the documentary before ever watchin their performances and I thought Adela's elimination was unfair but then I watched the Pink Venom dance cover and I was like...oh yeah, fans and the executives were right.
@@pingerfrints6716 let's be honest that's a stupid reason. Without that survival show thing (the girls didn't even know it in the first place) she would have most likely debut since she was ranked 3 overall
People keep using her height as an excuse, but it was obvious how the executives didn't mind it and they love her from the start. They even gave her high judges score in the finale and wished she gets in the group. The only reason why she couldn't debut is because she lacked votes. Anyway, Emily deserves all the recognition she got from the experts and she will definitely succeed on her own path in the industry.
Katseye was a perfect line up for me. It's given that you're super talented but that's not enough when you want to be an idol especially Hybe idols. Hybe idols are tall, has visuals, young, and has fan base in my observation. Manon for me is like Sakura in le sserafim, she was chosen because she has strong fan base.
Literally none of them are tall. Lol. Models are tall- most models have to be atleast 5'9" unless they have special connections . The Heighest height in the Katseye group is 5'6". That's just average height.
@@ona_tzar adverts models don't need to be tall. When you apply for model agencies you have 2 types of markets. One is runway models ( size and height is super strict and important because fashion brands only choose specific size and height) and then you have ads models, For example for skincare, makeup, clothing, food, etc etc. You need to have good proportions, nice face and a special talent to pose. K-pop idols get contracts with brands to do adverts, none of them end up on a runway for obvious reasons... Channel don't care if jennie is 5 feet tall, she is popular, and that sells more than a 6 feet tall european model who nobody knows. The k-pop industry is all about making money...
@@mel.clarkson2026 Lol. I’m not talking about the k pop industry - I’m referring to the comments that are saying all these girls are tall. They are not tall, they are average height.
@@ona_tzar depending on where you're from they can seem tall My countrie's average height is 5 feet so here yep they'd be considered tall 😂 Hybe is a Korean company so I guess they are tall with regard to that
I think that all these things that Adela still says to this day about her elimination not being right, only demonstrates how right it was to eliminate her, not knowing how to identify when there are improvements to be made and not blaming her result because of another person, apart from these things she said, caused the other younger girls who saw her as a leader and an older sister, to be taken by a feeling that was not necessary against Manon due to Adela's pure whim, so the Producers knew that everything she said the girls took as truth, and in a group that can't happen, if her elimination was just because of what she presented as a performer up to that point, she would definitely stay, but since the program had started, she was complaining and saying that it wasn't fair and that it wasn't what was agreed, apart from what we didn't have access to, so they removed her probably due to the behavior and fan voting, it doesn't make sense in a reality show to keep someone who doesn't have fans supporting and then won't buy anything from that person because they can't identify themselves
Your response was an INSANE run on sentence (girl, have you heard of periods?), so I could read too far into it BUT, I do appreciate you pointing this out about Adela, because I feel it's been overlooked. She comes off as very bitter and a bit entitled that she should've deserved the spot- and I get it, she worked hard, she feels she wasted time, she was heartbroken. But the way she's been a bit spiteful afterward and in her personal song lyrics- it just reeks a bit of "I'm a star, you should've given that spot to ME not HER", and the truth is I just don't see her fitting into the group anyway... Her looks, her dancing, her aura... It just somehow doesn't work with the final Katseye and she clearly wants or needs to be the solo artist star anyway.
@@ona_tzar Yes, it seems that she is extremely resentful, and I believe her elimination was due to reasons beyond just performance and singing. She probably already showed this attitude and ambition? From the beginning of the show, where she already thought she was better, I believe that her resentment toward Manon goes even further, because when other girls were eliminated for her to stay, she didn’t react the same way. But when she was eliminated, she completely changed her attitude and felt betrayed by something she knew could happen; it was never guaranteed that she would debut. I apologize for not using periods; I’m still improving my writing in English.
As a hard fan of her (she literally became my favourite artist in just one month with Homewrecked and now Superscar) I can't say I vibe with the artist herself, ever since the show aired and I watched the netflix show I made up my own mind. Even thought she made a point, I still feel like that point was unreasonable and useless and of course most of the girls were attracted to her opinion because look she was the mother of the group, she cared the most for them, how come she can be mean ? That's what it felt to me, I agree Manon was wrong for what she did, but instead of resolving the issue together as a "family they did seperate themselves..
I love the 6 members of Katseye rn but all the others really deserved it too! Adela getting voted out was just so unfair!! Emily was also super good, and they both were encouraging. I hope the ppl who got eliminated continue to shine bright and find their goal.
I think if Katseye were 7, the only ones that I can see with the current lineup are Marquise and Celeste. Although, I love Nayoung and her vocals, her dance skills are no up to the members and she would have struggled to deliver their current choreographies and she would have been dragged.
I agree with the team they ultimately went with, but it's clear there's a ready second group in there in the shorter candidates, and even a third of the more mature leaning vocal group but those are concepts that are tougher to pull off. Emily in particular though I think is actually too good of a dancer to be an idol of any type... like why have her be a singer dancer when she's clearly just top pro dancer material. Adela was of course done dirty, but you can't argue with the low votes... due to whatever reason she just didn't pull votes and that's just too bad.
Off topic, but i like your choices of words in all your videos. Based on everything im hearing, it seems like you have a very mature writing and possibly speaking style.
Thank you. English is actually my third language, so I use AI to refine my expressions and word choices for clearer communication. But I do love reading books hehe.
that's why i watch these types of shows only after the grp is made and i stan already. so that i support each of them instead of other contestants and to not break my heart. but... ezrela should have debut 😭
good video but a little little too clean bcs... well let's be honest if it was just about skills the line up would be diff. - some contestants did not had kpop beauty lvl - some others were part of public and/or private dramas and these 2 reasonshad a big impact
the Netflix show for this group is so messy like damn , first they didn't tell the girls that the show was going to be a survival show and then all this drama like maaaannnn
No wonder, Emily is the best dancer (and I root for her!) but yep... even she dances normally and never try to steal anyone's spotlight, her outstanding dance skill didn't go along with others. I think that why judges always want Emily, but audience didn't pick her.
Pussycat Dolls was the only group made fully of strong dancers which put all the vocal work on the lead. Nicole was like 90% of the vocals in that group and somehow it worked. Flip to that, Danity Kane was a group of all singers like the OG US girl groups and their albums were goooood. You can’t hear dancing so that vocal album was great. K-pop does both. That’s what makes them so different
Adela is so weirdd to me cause how can u be a good ass vocalist plus good dancer but have absolutely no presence??? Even after i found out she's good in the documentary, still no presence like howww
She's low in votes...may fans said that she looks old than other trainees. Whether it's unfair or not, let's face the reality that even in Kpop or Global Group visuals matter
@@s.b.8859 no, i meant like girly had no presence she may as well be invicible cause i didnt even stopped to care if she was pretty or not or how old she is
Well I guess speak for yourself because my eyes went straight to Adela, she’s the tallest trainee too, to me she always stood out with a strong presence
It is unexplainable. Some people have it and some people, no matter how hard they work, just don’t have that it factor. Sakura is the best example. Or Márquese that had no screen-time but still somehow left a big impact.
Her latest videos for her song Homewrecked shows that she has crazy star aura and presence. I guess she’s better off doing her own thing and expressing her artistic side
I think if the girls who got eliminated:SAMARA Emily ADELA ILIYA NAYOUNG CELESTE UA and HITORI and NIASHA and Abby they could be a great group but that’s just my opinion what do y’all think?
I think ua really struggled with english, cause she really struggled to speak the language. I feel like if she improved her singing and worked on learning english. She would do really well as an idol.
ua has fantastic dancing skills and stage presence, but they were definitely looking for older members more fluent in english. i'm glad she got to gain new experiences while participating in dream academy and hope to see her in a group or as a soloist in the future!
Celeste and Brooklyn-are clumsy Ezrela,Emily and Samara are like children and lack of height. They look like 12 years old. Thats the reason they are not pick in the finals.
She looks so much unique with current color tho. She’s just another cute girl with black hair but now she’s more striking with hime cute and orange hair.
I just started watching and they keep calling the naisha aggressive and things that are stereotypical. They said they wanted someone masculine and apparently she’s too masculine and to don’t think that’s fair.
Adela’s cuts of ranting about Manon gave me the vibe of “it should be me, I’m prettier and more talented” and her attitude and jealousy toward anyone doing better is what I personally think led to her elimination. The coaches said that attitude was also a factor and Adela’s was very spiteful when she didn’t reach her own expectations. If y’all actually read and stop projecting underneath this comment you’d see that no where did I say that Adela didn’t work hard. She did. But her attitude at times came off as spiteful towards other contestants when she didn’t reach her goals. I said what I said. Yes she was like Sophia in the way that she has a nurturing energy to her- however that doesn’t eliminate her also being just like the other girls and having a competitive edge. I’m not going to be like y’all a rob this young lady of her nuances. Multiple things can be true at once y’all. Whether you like it or not.
Don’t wanna be that person but Adela was literally the trainees mother , everyone wanted to be grouped w her and she helped everyone. Her problem was not Manon didn’t do anything and constantly broke rules bu5 never faced any consequences
The thing is though, adela worked her absolute ass off. Manon either didn’t really care, was so scared or let all the pretty privilege get to her head. Manon didn’t put in effort until the end, which by then it was already too late. Manon may have also had a shitty attitude, we have no idea.
I don't get that vibe at all. Adela actually had to audition, Manon didn't because they recruited her. Adela worked her tail off, bonded with the girls and was both a strong singer and dancer. Manon didn't have any prior training, they chose her because of her look and vibe, and she isolated herself from everyone. Not to mention she didn't show up to practice. It was like she was handed a golden opportunity that she didn't have to work as hard for. I mean it's life 🤷🏾♀️ but I completely get why she's upset
It really put me off on her, I understand being frustrated with the results despite working hard, but she acted as if it was Manon's fault for her elimination and lack of ability to gain fans
Adela is a professional dancer and singer, debut was her dream. Therefore Manon was only an influencer selected by number of followers and beauty. Any girl would be pissed in Adela’s shoes
Talent doesn’t matter. They are all super talented. It’s about star quality and social media engagement. People need to stop focusing on the hard work portion and focus on what will make everyone money.
that’s not entirely true because a group filled with talentless people would not make the company much money. there needs to be talent in the equation.
@@syncere I’m not saying that it shouldn’t be part of the equation. What I meant to say was since the executives “control group” was already to pick really talented girls to provide this “camp” to train them they were ALREADY talented to begin with. Removing talent out of the equation since they were already chosen for their talents - the executives’ main concern is who engages with the girls - basically if people are willing to go out of their way to leave a comment, go to concerts, bat for, vote for. That’s what these the executives were looking for. Because if someone doesn’t care enough to contribute to your success there will be no reason for them to even be invested in. All of the girls chosen were talented and they worked hard to get even more talented during dream academy, however the ones that drove engagement from random strangers on a tv were the ones with star quality.
I hate how people actually thought Naisha's dance style was too aggressive. Every time I hear that I feel like smacking someone. If this had been a dude's dance style this never would have been a problem. I honestly admired her style and thought the others should have been more like her instead of trying to dance more like strippers in training. I mean who is their target audience supposed to be teens with their parents' credit cards or dirty old men in dingy bars?
I think you are completely wrong about Ua, please let any of the English only singers sing Japanese, or Korean, or any other Language. Expecting her to have perfect English is dumb. Ua clearly has a unique voice, and is a much better team player than many others.
i mean for a company that said they you had to be fluent in english to participate, you would think she would sound decent but in general, she was the weakest vocalist. the show set her up for failure, her and hinari were exactly like abby and naisha but the company was desperate to find 20 candidates and they were about to go over 3 years without starting the show that they accepted any girl they could find.
This group is not targeted towards westerners so they don’t want a blonde or Caucasian in the group. That’s why Emily didn’t make it although she is one of the best and Adela was (unfairly imo) eliminated early on
i totally disagree, they are very obviously targeting the west, what you described is just the opposite and not what the image for a popular western girl group is right now... i think they achieved exactly what they wanted
According to the last pre-show rankings - 1st - Nayoung 2nd - Sophia 3rd - Lara But I feel like the rankings depends on what they were looking for because these 3 girls show different charms and specialities
I’m biased but i was rooting for Lexie, Marquise, Nayoung and Brooklyn back then. I’d see them as very special ladies. From your video, i was surprised with Adela and Karlee the most. Didn’t know they were that good.
To be honest, Adelas' last interview shows why she couldn't be part of the team. I understand she was disappointed, but she didn't show sportsmanship at the end. It just made her look bad. In my opinion
@@poufchka1 no she was acting quite unprofessional and not in a way that is ideal for a group member, it has nothing to do with other contestants you need to learn to admit that
For me, Manon did not want it at first and actually did not do much...that was horrible that girls were doing all their best and she didn't come and other things. Adela, Emily should have debuted because of their willingness and amazing attitude to be in the girl group. That's definitely not okay that with those situations Manon made it to the group...
Yall are ridiculous. It's not because she didn't want it. There was a cultural difference and she didn't fully know what she was brought into. Also this isn't a Disney movie. Life ain't fair. Hard work isn't always enough, even talent isn't always enough. Unfortunately looks/popularity do matter in the industry, they go with the people they think they can profit most from. So why would they choose Adela and Emily when they didn't have high audience rankings?
regardless of any of that, the people in the group are there because of what the judges liked and fam voting. the fans wanted manon and so did the judges. who “deserves it” is your opinion. and manon is absolutely perfect in katseye.
@@LifeisaBeautifulting There is no cultural difference between America and Switzerland when it comes to researching things you’re getting into and showing up

You can see the difference between her and other katseye members when performing on stage. But well, now its done so i hope she gets better and improve.
Abby was super robbed! Hell that Head of HXG really needs to be fired. Cos I’ve looked at her now and she defo stood the chance to be in the top 10. Also, I feel like they lied to Missy on the schedule conflict cos like, gorl defo couldve improved in 12 months time
Public votes are very important. She ranked last. Hybe and Geffen didn't produce Katseye for peace but for money. Why chose a very talented person who is not popular when we can chose a less talented person who can make more $$$?
Tbh, looking at the docuseries. It appeared to me as if Adela was selected to leave both on a mixture of her placing last in the ranking, but also because she more or less was a spearheading figure on the Manon hate train. Sure she treated other trainees well, but when there is even one example of toxic behavior that was so palpable, I felt it was understandable why she was given the boot.
I don't think it was toxic hate, I think it was genuine frustration that most of the trainees shared. Adela was simply more vocal about it. She and the other trainees had been there for months and months working their asses off. Manon got recruited in for her visual appeal despite no real training as a dancer or singer, skipped rehearsals, broke rules, and didn't take it seriously until late in the game. But she faced no consequences because of preferences from the higher ups and then later popularity with voters (who didn't have any insight into the behind the scenes environment). I grew up as a serious dancer, and knew a few girls like Manon. It is infuriating to be killing yourself, putting in the time and the work, sacrificing so much of your life for your goal, and to see someone less dedicated being given preferential treatment. I fully understood the anger that Adela and the others were feeling. Now, Manon seems to have adjusted her attitude eventually, and for the sake of her group mates I'm glad about that, but Adela's not a villain for having problems with her while they trained together.
@@shainahiggins2217the problem however was how they excluded her. I understand their frustration as well but in no way is that an effective way to solve an issue.
@@whoopthy It's not, but I think we forget how young most of the trainees are. The majority aren't even 20. @@shainahiggins2217 I do think to give grace to them all, I am just pointing out the wrongs on both sides of this situation. Manon definitely should've shown more dedication and the girls should not have unfairly excluded her
@@whoopthy they never excluded her, Manon excluded herself. She missed classes, did whatever she wanted, her penalization for that was for her to live with her aunt instead of the house with the others; how do you want the others to be friends with Manon if she practically never was with them. Unethical behavior should be penalized, she shouldn't have been able to participate in DA but because she is pretty, she had the privilege to do whatever she wanted without consequences, I would have been mad too
Honestly I did not like Emily at all until I watched the documentary and saw how talented and hard-working she is. I unfortunately judged her for her looks, as her facial proportions are just off (small face with very large features) and honestly just hated on her for being a blonde white Texan lol. But her talent and dedication won me over, but bc of my (and many others) first impression of her she never had a chance unfortunately. She can definitely make a fantastic career as a professional dancer, but the idol world is shallow they'd never give her the chance.
That’s so sad that people judge on looks or where they’re from. I hope it taught you something about yourself. Preconceived perception is a fact of the world unfortunately. However, a lot of those traits you said except the Texas thing are a look if youth. You may be drawn to a more mature look for a performer. That’s just a preference and we all have them, what bothers me is how mean the comments were to a child because that’s what she was.
@@ayat7491My exacts thoughts.. like Emily was barely an adult and this commenter is publicly admitting to hating on a trainee because she was white and blonde, like that's so stereotypical and stupid?? I hope the og commenter learnt from their mistakes and grows from that toxic mentality.
Has to visually compliment? What a load of nonsense. Then these same people complain about these companies only focusing on visuals and not talent. The companies aren't the problem. No matter who debuted people would have eventually accepted it so behaving like there's a perfect line up is so ridiculous.
I didn’t follow the o line stuff but watched the documentary and have now gone back to watch them. I think as group with K pop hinting such you. Kids at ages 10 - 14 can base I’d have like to see a younger group. I think making them so sexual is a mistake. Though. I love Lara’s voice even at 17 she seemed to mature for a group for kids. She is in line with the pussycat dolls image. I wish it was a group of Emily, Estela, Samara, Lexie, Yoonchai, Nayoung. I really liked UA and Hinari and knowing they are so young I would love to see them in a group someday. I love Sophia but am not sure if she would fit in my ideal group for young girls. I am also unsure of Karlie, Daniella, Brooklyn, marquise and Mei for a girl group for young girls. Yet they are all talented and I really like them. A no for me for a girl group for young kids has nothing to do with talent and all to do with image. They seem to mature and worldly. Manon, Iliya, Adela, Celeste, Lara. Megan. Looking at their posts and how they come across they are a more sexual group and even though I listened to Madonna I think what I liked about k pop was how innocent they seemed. These girls see very pussycat dolls not k pop. So just because they have talent doesn’t mean right for kids.
It really isn’t because of the way the eliminations were set up. She was top ranks in vocal and dance yet the first elimination happened before she was even able to do one publicly viewed performance to show her skills… and you can’t even spell her name right
If you were to create another group from these eliminated trainees, who would they be, and what would be their group name, general concept, and positions?
UA, EMILY, EZRELA, SAMARA need to get signed ASAP! The different ethnic backgrounds and their fun personality reminded me of the iconic Spice Girls!
Ua, emily, ezrela, adela, lexie, and mei would be my second group. They would have a cuter/softer group concept than katseye because theyre younger. Kinda like twice, how they started cute and matured over time.
Emily, Mei, Samara, Lexie, Ua & Ezrela would be good group.
Samara, Emily, Celeste, Lexie, Ezrela, Marquise and UA
Karlee- Main vocal
Ezrela- lead vocal
Lexie- center and FOG
Mei- subvocal
Emily-main dancer
Ua- lead dancer
Hinari- maknae
Lexie is so cool in every aspect. I can't help but admire her after watching the documentary
You have no idea how much I would love to see Lexie, Ezrela and Emily in a Group/band. They were always my favorites, and it was so cool to realise what good friends they are during the documentary. Maybe include Samara as a main vocal, and voila.... another girl group 😅❤
she did seem a little daffy, but she was probably out of it since all her friends were getting eliminated and it was pretty stressful
@@Pookasoul Literally! This would be amazing
@@Pookasoulthat would be fun!!
@@Jazzyjihyo yeah, its crazy she showed real emotions most people would. so daffy
I 100% agree. They do visually compliment each other and every member has their role to play 💯
I think marquise wouldve fit and seven members would be good to have an odd number for formations
@@Jjangbunbunthat’s definitely my thinking too cuz she does looked fitted for KATSEYE if it’s 7 members and her voice is unique 🙂
This💯 There are other talented trainees but visually they don't fit in the group e.g. height proportion
if 7, i think marquise/abby/celeste couldve fit, with their height and all. abby has also improved a lot as seen from the vid.
She deserves to get better opportunities in the industry and I can't wait to see how her career will flourish.
yup, even the top professionals in this industry have always been aware of that
@@EKCristobal The fact that they even call her The Michael Jackson of T&D.
Honestly speaking tho I see her as a performer but just not an artist? If that makes sense
I think I’m place of Lexie. Lexies a good vocalist but if dancing was her specialty than idk
@@luluyuyuyes, i had seen some videos of her vocals before the show on twitter. And that made me vote for her.
It was kinda shocking how little marquis was shown in the documentary considering how prominent her presence was in the promotional videos
@@EKCristobal LOL. Let's be honest. Adela was not eliminated because of her performance. It was pure maths.
I wanted Emily and Ezrela to make it so badly 😭
almost :(
Ezrela is so good but I knew she wouldn't debut with lara
Emily was a star. Everytime I watched her performances I was hypnotised. Ezrela was great too. They were my top 2 too.
Ezrela, Emily, Lexie, and Mei gonna make a cute group. I'll still need a vocalist.
@@odageoyama5172 Lexie and Ezrela are both strong vocalists they just didn't showcase it as much
Adela is so talented. She's been chosen as the punching bag of the show. I mean, I understand. It's easier to judge because of what we saw on the show. I just wish people would step back and realize that it's been a long time, and we dont know everything. That aside, I agree with how they said she'll thrive as a soloist. I can't wait to see how she explores that.
many many were "so talented" and she choose herself "as the punching bag"
and started talking about some representation bs... on camera (probably lightened her wording)
so why her...?
this is why you should have fav
How was she chosen as the punching bag? I dont get it
@nellekx oh, you're lucky that you don't get to see what the fans send to her every day. It's about the fans and not the producers.
@RougeLino If you wouldn't see anything past that, I don't think there's any need to discuss it further. Let's just be kind.
I wanna see wannabe team + lexie debut in girlgroup together. Please western company look at them 😢

Agree 100 💯 percent
Ezrela was in my final six before Manon; but now that it's all said and done - Manon really fits the group well. I hope I see Ezrela in the future.
I wish they could make a group with Samara, Lexie, Emily, Ezrela and Marquise
Same I think with time and patience it can happen I even said if SAMARA Emily EZRELA marquise ILIYA ADELA Celeste and NIASHA UA and HINARI and Abby come as group with Lexie it would be unstoppable
I hate it when ppl disregard emily just because of the height, adding in ezrela to have another short girlie will balance it out
They just didn’t fit with the other girls without lexie or samara
It is really nice once a 6 member group katseye have the same heights.Emily is obvious not to be a member bcoz of lack of heights even how good you are.
Emily had chance but her vocals are literally not at all good but she is insane dancer
They should have a separate group for the cute girls like emily, ezrela and lexie
I wanted Emily, Nayoung and Samara so bad it breaks my heart 🥺 (Lexie and Adela are also my personal favorites but I totally understand this wasn’t for them)
I loved Emily she was hard working great dancer and improved a lot in singing.
I feel like she didn’t make it into the group because her height didn’t match the other members
@@TofuBebe sad that’s it’s a lot of superficial reasons why some of these girls didn’t make it

Emily and Adela are real gems. I wish their success and see them perform
I was voting for Emily since the beginning, i was SO MAD when she didn’t made it. Brooklyn also was one of my pics, don’t get why the heck she barely had any screen time.

Ua, emily, ezrela, lexi and nayoung (and samara if the things said wasnt true) would be a freakin powerhouse.
So agree
Yes me too agree
Mei is actually debuting soon in a group "SAY MY NAME" with Hitomi (previously Iz*one and AKB48)
Adela was the most talented member of this entire crew. They did her dirty not putting her in the vocal group, because while her dance is awesome, her voice is her truest attribute. Im really happy that shes putting out music on her own (go stream if you havent its genuinely really good).
Ezrela is so cute I loved her😢😢
it’s not just about talent. if that’s the case, then there are way more talented people outside of this group. it’s also about visuals, charisma, marketability
Samara ATE Dirty Water
SHE DID
And i found it odd how the judges didn't compliment or give her feedback

I watched the documentary before ever watchin their performances and I thought Adela's elimination was unfair but then I watched the Pink Venom dance cover and I was like...oh yeah, fans and the executives were right.
My heart was broken when Emily’s name wasn’t called. Love the 6 girls in the line up-but they would’ve been better as a 7 with my girl Emily
Emily lacks height I think that's the reason she didnt debut
@@pingerfrints6716 let's be honest that's a stupid reason. Without that survival show thing (the girls didn't even know it in the first place) she would have most likely debut since she was ranked 3 overall

Katseye was a perfect line up for me. It's given that you're super talented but that's not enough when you want to be an idol especially Hybe idols. Hybe idols are tall, has visuals, young, and has fan base in my observation. Manon for me is like Sakura in le sserafim, she was chosen because she has strong fan base.
sakura has been an idol for 80 years now so that is two different conversations.
I will be awaiting Samara’s debut!!

Pussycat Dolls was the only group made fully of strong dancers which put all the vocal work on the lead. Nicole was like 90% of the vocals in that group and somehow it worked.

K-pop does both. That’s what makes them so different
Adela is so weirdd to me cause how can u be a good ass vocalist plus good dancer but have absolutely no presence??? Even after i found out she's good in the documentary, still no presence like howww

ua has fantastic dancing skills and stage presence, but they were definitely looking for older members more fluent in english. i'm glad she got to gain new experiences while participating in dream academy and hope to see her in a group or as a soloist in the future!

All of the girls chosen were talented and they worked hard to get even more talented during dream academy, however the ones that drove engagement from random strangers on a tv were the ones with star quality.
this Netflix show is so messed up like damn
I hate how people actually thought Naisha's dance style was too aggressive. Every time I hear that I feel like smacking someone. If this had been a dude's dance style this never would have been a problem. I honestly admired her style and thought the others should have been more like her instead of trying to dance more like strippers in training. I mean who is their target audience supposed to be teens with their parents' credit cards or dirty old men in dingy bars?
Her dance style did not fit what they were looking for. And she failed to adjust to expectations.
I think you are completely wrong about Ua, please let any of the English only singers sing Japanese, or Korean, or any other Language. Expecting her to have perfect English is dumb. Ua clearly has a unique voice, and is a much better team player than many others.
could you please provide the timestamp where I brought up her English skills?
It’s very hard to sing in another language. She is very talented, she is also so young for such an amazing performer.
i mean for a company that said they you had to be fluent in english to participate, you would think she would sound decent but in general, she was the weakest vocalist. the show set her up for failure, her and hinari were exactly like abby and naisha but the company was desperate to find 20 candidates and they were about to go over 3 years without starting the show that they accepted any girl they could find.
Imagine Lexie, Emily, Manon, Megan, Sophia and Yoanchee.
This group is not targeted towards westerners so they don’t want a blonde or Caucasian in the group. That’s why Emily didn’t make it although she is one of the best and Adela was (unfairly imo) eliminated early on
they are targeting the West though
i totally disagree, they are very obviously targeting the west, what you described is just the opposite and not what the image for a popular western girl group is right now... i think they achieved exactly what they wanted
People still meat riding the racist in the comments lol
1:37 isn't abby that girl who's like cousins with that boba girl amelia and thomas? Like it can't just be me fr
Between Nayoung and Lara, who's the better vocalist?
The documentary states nayoung is better
Nayoung was the best vocalist of Dream Academy.
According to the last pre-show rankings -
1st - Nayoung
2nd - Sophia
3rd - Lara
But I feel like the rankings depends on what they were looking for because these 3 girls show different charms and specialities
Nayoung but they sound different and in reality would not be competing against each other
I’m biased but i was rooting for Lexie, Marquise, Nayoung and Brooklyn back then. I’d see them as very special ladies.
From your video, i was surprised with Adela and Karlee the most. Didn’t know they were that good.
yes, especially Adela skill-wise
To be honest, Adelas' last interview shows why she couldn't be part of the team. I understand she was disappointed, but she didn't show sportsmanship at the end. It just made her look bad. In my opinion
She's just honest, you all want fake people to succeed ahah
@@LifeisaBeautifulting There is no cultural difference between America and Switzerland when it comes to researching things you’re getting into and showing up
it the company fault
It's the fans fault.
Orrr Both?
11:09 OMG! Iliya covering BINI's Cherry On Top. Is she a Bloom? uwuuuuuuu
They had so many choices. Many of these girls had amazing presence and skill set. Amazing performers. But went with Manon. She still doesnt stands out. You can see the difference between her and other katseye members when performing on stage.
But well, now its done so i hope she gets better and improve.
I don't know what you're talking about. Manon stands out so clearly to me. She's the only one I'm looking at.
She is very pretty it still basically Kpop you know how Important Visuals are
They should’ve put Emily in the group instead of Megan
Abby was super robbed! Hell that Head of HXG really needs to be fired. Cos I’ve looked at her now and she defo stood the chance to be in the top 10. Also, I feel like they lied to Missy on the schedule conflict cos like, gorl defo couldve improved in 12 months time
If Adela was top in both in dance and vocal how she got eliminated first
Because of public votes
Public votes are very important. She ranked last. Hybe and Geffen didn't produce Katseye for peace but for money. Why chose a very talented person who is not popular when we can chose a less talented person who can make more $$$?
No star quality
@@whoopthy excuse
@@poufchka1 Excuse? Lmao, that's an explanation
It's immature, but so are they, and I think we have to have a little grace for the fact that they're still learning how to navigate workplace dynamics, and doing it in an absolute pressure cooker to boot.
She can definitely make a fantastic career as a professional dancer, but the idol world is shallow they'd never give her the chance.
ppl are taliking about height but i think is her visual didnt fit other member for the lineup
That’s so sad that people judge on looks or where they’re from. I hope it taught you something about yourself. Preconceived perception is a fact of the world unfortunately. However, a lot of those traits you said except the Texas thing are a look if youth. You may be drawn to a more mature look for a performer. That’s just a preference and we all have them, what bothers me is how mean the comments were to a child because that’s what she was.
this is such a terrible thing to admit publicly lol why would you judge someone and their talent based off appearance????
@@ayat7491My exacts thoughts.. like Emily was barely an adult and this commenter is publicly admitting to hating on a trainee because she was white and blonde, like that's so stereotypical and stupid?? I hope the og commenter learnt from their mistakes and grows from that toxic mentality.
Abby is still bad at dancing even now.
Damn...
I can't stand these lifeless robotic AI voices on youtube lately. Can't even get through this video
I’m happy that Samara wasn’t chosen and I pray everyday that she never gets famous whatsoever in the future
Do u hate her
@ yes very much
Has to visually compliment? What a load of nonsense. Then these same people complain about these companies only focusing on visuals and not talent. The companies aren't the problem.
No matter who debuted people would have eventually accepted it so behaving like there's a perfect line up is so ridiculous.
Celeste was underrated though
The best members didnt debut: Naisha, Iliy😊a and Adela
Adellas elimination is justified
by what?
It really isn’t because of the way the eliminations were set up. She was top ranks in vocal and dance yet the first elimination happened before she was even able to do one publicly viewed performance to show her skills… and you can’t even spell her name right
와~! 브루클린이랑 메이 덜어뜨리고.. 소피아랑 그 노안 인도여자 뽑은거야??? 왜???? 이즈렐라는 좋긴한데 좀 키가 작아보이고...
