Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! I have Been checking TH-cam everyday looking for a decent separation test for the MX Sport. I'm also in NC so I look to your posts more than others so that I can better gauge what to expect. You have absolutely cinched it for me, I was shooting for the AT pro, but after this test I'm definitely going with the MX Sport. Thanks again.
Thank you for the video! I would love it if my MX-Sport could find anything other than Iron! I have returned my MX-Sport twice to Whites for Replacement/repairs and it still makes so much noise it is not usable. I have requested assistance from everyone on the Whites Forum, call Whites Customer Service for any suggestions and so far it is just a great iron finder. I have been using the Relic mode as that is what I have used on my previous and other Whites detectors, all with some super finds over the past 36 years of using Whites detectors. I have had several of my treasure hunting buddies that also have or had the MX-Sport try to use it and they also have issues with it. I will be going out in the next few days and will try the Coin and Jewelry mode to see if it will do any better. I am thinking of walking away from Whites as so far this is a dud detector for me! I do love my Whites DFX, and TDI-SL as they will find items all day long. Don't get me wrong I do not mind finding iron as many of my finds include canon shell frags, gun tools/parts, stirrups, old pad locks, etc. But with the DFX and TDI-SL I can find coins, bullets, buttons, and other keeper items. Just frustrated with a very expensive paper weight! ;-)
thanks for the demos. I think this is going to be my next detector, I just wish it had a 5 yr warranty. keep up the good work. your beach weather is right around the corner. can't wait to see it there.
Well, now I know for sure my MXS needs to have the firmware update, I don't have nearly the same separation your machine has in "Coin and Jewelry" (my primary mode,) mine tends to smear the sounds together. Seems prospect mode is the only mode to have good separation capability and very precisely. Thanks for another great video and for taking the time to make it. HH
Two more days and mine will be delivered. I hope UPS will be on time. I think the reason I went with the MXS is because it can do so much all with good depth. Your demonstration just makes me want its here sooner. I noticed the squeaking sound on your MXS as others have mentioned. Others mentioned tightening the cam nuts 1/8 to 1/4 turn to get rid of it. I am looking forward to see your finds with it.
WHY Whites don't use frequency shift? I cant get close with my MXT to any other 14khz whites machines. I hear my friends MX Sport from 5 meters or more with sens+1 +2 on my MXT. Waterproofing it was good idea anyway :)
Hey Carolina coin hunter...nice video. I was wondering if you could redo the separation test and try to see if the detector will tell you each individual coin. Also do you have a fors yet?
It does have all metals mode, and relic mode is a mixed mode audio. The relic mode does seem a bit deeper than the coin and jewelry. In my testing 10 inch coins are possible with the stock coil in my ground. HH#
+Carolina Coin Hunter I have had mine since March found a victorian box ring 18k at 8 inches reading was jumping 42 22 Then a week later found mans 14kp wedding band it read 26 solid at 4 inches. looked up 14kp stand for plumb weight 14k no more no less they are allowed to put only 13.5k in 14k .ring is exactly 14k
+Carolina Coin Hunter I run my machine all the way up on sensativity never lower it .It takes a little getting use to but after a while you get the hang of it running at full sensativity. Treashhold slow The best machine when you get hang of it and train your brain to its sounds
+Marvin Lively Thanks for the insight on the MX Sport. It sounds like you are having a lot of success with it. I appreciate you watching! Good luck with your detecting!
I just watched your video again, and this time I was wearing headphones. Is the MX Sport creaking when you swing it? It certainly sounds that way. I hear an audible creaking sound when you are using the MX Sport that I I don't hear with the Fisher. Please let me know because that might be a deal breaker for me. I cant see spending $750 for a machine that creaks when you swing it. Thanks again,
+Carolina Coin Hunter I noticed the creaking as well, and yeah that's all you need to do, tighten the cam locks. My Sport had the same creaking. Good video btw! Can't wait to get my Sport back with the update. gl & hh!
***** what machine would you say is a better machine in the same price range? I have heard many good things about this machine and currently own one. I see the issue in high trash enviromennts and need to send mine in for the firmware update. Have you had any hands on with this machine or are you going by something else?
+stilljustrockin I'm not even sure what your rant is about. I stated this is an updated unit and it's much better than it was. I've never said it was better than any other machine like the MXT for example. I just show the performance. Its up to the viewer to decide if they like it or not.
***** It seems much better after the firmware fix. It is very sensitive to small, deep low conductors. I'm starting to get a feel for it. I've now started running the sensitivity a bit lower and have still been getting deep coins. It's unlike the other Whites I've used, and it does take a bit of getting used to. This thing is very sensitive. I picked up the metal part of a pencil eraser today at over 8 inches and some 22 bullets very deep as well, I'm going to keep testing and see how it goes. Happy Hunting!
Yea, enjoy your review videos but would have like to see this compared to a machine that is similar such as the At Pro. But other than that it was a great video.
+Detecting Chicago I'll probably get around to that pretty soon. I wanted to get some hours on the MX Sport first to get a real accurate comparison. The AT is a proven unit, just making sure all the bugs are worked out of the Sport for a fair comparison. I appreciate you watching!
The AT Pro doesn't measure up to the MX Sport. Doesn't belong on the same shelf. Personally, I sent the Pro packing after using the MX Sport. The AT Max is a little different story. But even the Max doesn't do as well in iron.
+shawn1744 I'm about to get my hands on one and do a full review and test Carolina style. There really isn't a lot of video on here showing all of the features and performance. I'm really looking forward to testing it out!
If it's deep, I'll usually dig it. Even deeper stuff will usually sound like iron on most machines. As the target signal gets weaker in combination with ground minerals, extremely deep targets will sound like iron. Its amazing at what's really down there. If it reads over 9 inches and even faintly jumps up, I'll go for it. I've found quite a few coins this way, and also a lot of junk :)

Listen to that sweet music the MX Sport is pumping out

dear. do you think the mx sport better than the other machines and why. Regarding
Does if have a all metal or mixed mode and would id without the tone at 9 to 10 inch target?

How does it compare to the ATPRO your honest opinion?
It will take me a little while longer to really tell. I need to get some more time on this one to learn all of it's nuances.
+Carolina Coin Hunter I for one would love to see a Whites MX Sports vs Garrett AT Pro Video.
does your unit have the firmware update?
Yes. This really takes this machine to the next level in higher trash environments. Thanks for watching!

Sweet, should make for an interesting comparison and can't wait to see it.

You would not dig those tones. now maybe 2 tone
