I once asked a teenage mother why she didn't take the pill or use condoms. She said: "The church doesn't allow it." I replied: "The church doesn't allow premarital sex either, but you don't seem to have a problem with that. If you are going to sin anyway, why not sin in a responsible way?" Food for thought, isn't it?
The real issue is in most cases the girls can't afford to get the pill privately and they are afraid to go to the government family planning centre (where they could get it for free) because they could be seen and people will say they are easy etc. Also the church spreads misinformation about the pill for example taking the pill will make you permanently sterile, it causes cancer, it will make you fat, it will make you thin, it will.... While some of these things are true in rare cases they spread stories that these things are common. I had a Filipino gf that was advised to take contraceptive pills because of a hormonal imbalance by her doctor. She was constantly told these things by people from the church after a girl from the local pharmacy let someone from the church know she was taking them.
“The church doesn’t allow it” I’m pinay and have never heard bs like this. They got pregnant just because they’re ignorant that contraceptives are actually sold around or even taught in public schools. Many of them don’t even have religious background or at least not serious in faith upbringing. They also have not been lucky having good education about much of life because of the poverty. An example is my own cousin herself. She took these old habits from my dead beat uncle who had left her and her siblings when they were much younger to shack around other women. The problem here is that our government doesn’t have a system or institution to educate or even help out families becoming dysfunctional due to unchecked mental health problems and poverty. These result in these toxic family culture that is now pervading in the country. Systemically and institutionally it has to get mended before all else creates more societal problems.
There are too many single mothers on the dating websites. At least half of them either said they had kids, or had the red flag statements indicating that they have some. It’s interesting that the people will not use birth control because of the church, but seem to ignore the religious edicts of not having premarital sex.
I find too many women want unprotected sex. In my life, the number of women who insured on a condom I can count on one hand. The number of women who wanted unprotected sex the first time we met however is way higher by multiples. I am always insanely amazed by how much women are OK with unprotected sex.
I lived in the Philippines for many years as a working Asian expat. From my observations, Philippines society is religious but far from conservative. Premarital and teenage sex and extramarital affairs are common. I had sadly seen many young single mums struggle to provide for their kids. There are so many examples around them while growing up but young Filipinas still repeat the same mistakes. I always wonder why and what caused those young Filipinas to be so naive, or the Filipino men who got them pregnant and then abandoned them were just a bunch of irresponsible a**holes. Other factors that I attributed this to are erosion of traditional Asian values and strong influence of American culture and lifestyles which the Philippines society copies a lot. A culture that also suffers from high degree of teenage pregnancies and single mum problems. As I always believe, reversion to traditional Asian (who the Filipinos are) values will easily reduce the number of children borne out of wedlock and single mums by 90% in the Philippines. It will also make their men and women becoming more socially responsible members of their society. There's a lot of soul searching to do there. Sorry guys if the truth hurts but i just have to call this out.
@CL. Filipino men. Yeah right. A large portion of single moms became pregnant from foreign men especially in US military. The other issue is because the Filipino guy left because the Filipina woman cheated with a foreigner. Many of the Filipino men who do have issues have more of a Spanish background also. Everything else is as normal in comparison to any other ethnicity and it’s not even close to those who live in poor US communities. There are way more single b lack moms and Latino moms. There are way more single w hite moms also in poor areas. Heck many of these so called “moms” abandoned their own children too. Filipino American households make way more money than even w hites and it’s guaranteed they have a lower divorce rate.
@@f430ferrari5 sorry to say that all the single mums that I came across after years of working and living in the Philippines had had Filipino men as the fathers of their kids. Non of their kids have mixed American blood. I don't deny there will be cases involving American men, but cases now are few and far in between. That's the reality. US had already closed all their military bases in the Philippines in 1992, that's 30 years ago. I also observed that sometimes, Philippines society faces identity crisis. They are very westernised and liberal in their way of life and thinking, which is perfectly fine. But they often forget that they are still very much Asians, and forget their traditional Asian values. There's nothing wrong in adopting the cultures and way of life of the West, but in doing so please filter out the bad influences for your own good.

From my experience and my wife and her friends point of view... the main reason for so many single moms is boredom. There are many young people that have nothing to do. They are on Facebook, or texting, or playing games on their phone all day... basically nothing to do. So they need to find things to do. Sex is something to do, it's fun, it's easy, and it doesn't cost anything to do. Well, it costs, but later, not at the time of having sex. These people need to find jobs or something important to do...
Spot on👍 ive been to cebu and many islands over around there for the last 8 years Philippines is definitely not Conservative as it once was Pinay ppl are unfortunately letting themselves down But that is just my opinion
@@Rubeauti You purposefully remove probably the biggest reason of single motherhood????? You can blame the Church and Government because we all know EVERYONE follows the rules. But I blame BOREDOM, and the global mortality decline plus the Spanish tradition of having large families counting on at least one of the kids making enough money to build Mom and Dad a house and sending their bother and sisters to school or at least be able to support the rest of the family. But when you can only afford the most basic life support, you tend to use the cheapest, yet most thrilling fun ride in the world, to make daily life bearable. The Poor and economically disadvantaged tend to overuse it. Saying all that, my wonderful Filipina wife and stepdaughter are the joys of my life and they come one the best group of people in the world.
Filipinas, foreigners are not your lottery ticket. A foreigner can be also your worst nightmare, so like any other relationship take your time and get to know the person.
I was talking to a mom for a few months. She was trying to rush me into marriage. And would "joke" about a future divorce. Too many red flags. Desperate people will do desperate things. Pay attention to your intuition.
Thank you for always bringing us the truth in your topics and helping us learn about the Philippines and the culture there. And I think you are wonderful, beautiful, and amazing!
In the USA, most boys who grow up without fathers have problems. The common factor in crime and imprisonment (regardless of race) is young males who had no father to help raise them with their mothers. Is this true in Philippines also -- most crimes are committed by young men who did not have a father in the home?
Disclaimer: my opinion is purely based on my observations and is in now way too be taken as researched fact. From what I've seen most criminal activity appears to be based on environment of the children more so than a lack of fathers in the home. In the Philippines so many children do have have fathers in the home but conform in society just fine. This is based on my inlaws whose father died from cancer at young age and had no other men to rely on. This is from my understanding but there is a large issue in communication due to language barrier so I could very well be missing some details. Ty
@@Glenarms no it's based on actual research. Children raised by single mothers are half as likely to graduate highschool, half as likely to attend college, earn half as much and are twice as likely to go to prison.

When I first met my Filipina fiancée, she immediately told me that she had two children. She was very open about her life. I am very proud to have two amazing future stepdaughters and very happy to accept them into my life. My fiancée is very hardworking and has provided for her daughters by herself over the years. Her ex partner was very lazy. Thank you for doing this video.
Hey Ric, glad to hear your fiancee was honest from the start and nice to hear you're accepting her kids , you both sound like very nice people and I wish you, her and her daughters a happy life 😎
Hi pretty thanks for this video, reality of life I see. Most of these single mum's hardworkers and strong..and as French foreigner nobody is allowed to judge them
like the saying goes with women. Alpha Seed beta need. I dont understand why men voluntary become cucks. Single mother means you will never be more important than her children. You will always come last in the relationship but will bear all the responsibility. No Thanks
Things that need to change in the Philippines 1) Better sex education in schools including responsibilities and difficulties of becoming parents and explaining everything about STDs 2)Availability of contraceptives even if it's just condoms no matter what culture and religion says. Actually condoms is the best, healthiest, religion tolerant contraceptive method and also protects from STDs 3)Destigmatization of sex related conversations. There's a difference explaining and informing about sex matters and outright sexual talking. 4) The MOST important. Filipinos need to stop blaming others (e.g. religion) for their shortcomings and learn to become RESPONSIBLE and stop their HYPOCRISY. 5) Start building their character and ideals based on common sense, logic and science and not on Catholicism they don't even bother to understand in a deep manner. (Obviously some Filipinos genuinely believe and follow their religion but for the majority it's just an excuse to save face)
And Filipino fathers need to meet every boyfriend at the door with a sharp yet rusty machete. No need to issue any threats. Just let the kid see it. Let him draw his own conclusions about what will happen to that kid's pecker if it shows itself before the wedding night.
Thanks for your thoughts and opinions Rubeauti, that’s a very balanced and mature outlook. I know many girls don’t insist or even like condoms, even when they go with a person they hardly know. I’ve heard the “ it’s a blessing” response several times, but Westerners don’t usually see if like that. To us it’s someone making an already hard life even harder. I’ve lost count of the single moms that I’ve spoken to, who haven’t seen their boyfriends since they told them they was pregnant. Yes it’s certainly a big problem there.
One of the classes for high school students where I lived in the USA was to show them how hard and time consuming it was to take care of a baby. They had these computerized robot babies a student would have to take care of for several days. It was a pass/fail class which if you failed just one time to quickly take care of that baby, either feed it with a bottle or change its diaper, you failed that class. I think they had around two minutes or less to take care of that baby once it started crying or they failed the course. For several days that was their priority all day and all night to take care of their "baby". About once an hour the baby cries and the student must stop anything they are doing or quickly wake up to take care of it. My nephew had to do this and he told me it was the most exhausting thing he ever did and he looked like a zombie with lack of good sleep. This class was to show the students if they had sex and had a baby they would have to give up their fun and freedom and just prioritize taking care of their baby. The pregnancy rate of students at that high school went down far lower after they started that class. 😄😄
True, that is why there are around 3000 abortions performed everyday in the US, They are now going nuts with the overturing of the Roe vs Wade. "It is a poverty to decide that a child must die so that you may live as you wish." - Mother Teresa of Calcutta
Excellent video. One aspect of Philippines culture that I totally respect is that, as you said "Babies are blessings and precious gifts". I hope that feeling never disappears. And even a child born in poverty is happy to be alive.
The world aborts 40-50 million babies a year, in the US 3,000 abortions are performed every day. The Philippines has the smallest of percentage for HIV infections as compared to its neighbors and the world. We do not have to talk about the divorce rates in those countries. In those countries women can no longer hope of permanency in marriage. The family arises from marriage. Life begins at home and the future of humanity passes through the family. Thank God that the Philippines still value their morals and religion.
When I was a teenager in the 70's the only sex ed I got, was when my father told me now that I was dating girls. That if she gets pregnant, since I was man enough to have sex with her, that I would then be man enough to marry her and raise the baby. Absolutely no way would I not take care of my responsibility. I was raised very old school, and I'm thankful for that. Keep up your great videos Rubeauti.
Well thought out & presented. However, 15:06? 'They are single moms because they are strong women'? No. Just no. As a single mom, they'll likely have a tougher life path and, in some way, that may make them stronger. But stronger women tend (**tend**) not to become single moms. I am glad that the latter part of the video calls out men for irresponsibility. Your child....you provide.
From my experience of being in the Philippines in the mid 80's, marrying a Filipina and spending most of my adult life around them, I find that their desire to always be sexy even instill this thought in young girls and teens may contribute to this phenomenon.
Rubeauti - Such an exceptional person in every way. It is easy to watch her other videos, and see her physical beauty, her humor, and what a joy it must be to be around her every day. I always enjoy your videos, and look forward to each one. Whenever I see the notification bell in the morning, and I click on it, if it is not a new Rubeauti video I say 'Oh, man........' 🤗☺
You’re a very very clever girl discussing these difficult topics… I hope you’re good work doesn’t go unnoticed in the wider media world because if I was making a film of contemporary Philippines I’d give you a starring role.!! Keep up the good work xxx
Sex education is been all but absent in the Philippines. For many Filipinas their idea of birth control is using the 'withdrawal method' which of course is laughable at best. The Roman Catholic church in the Philippines has done it's best to overpopulate the country and feed misinformation to young Filipinos about birth control. Growing up in the West, I knew about 2 girls that got pregnant out of wedlock. My Filipina wife told me that nearly half her class in university were single mothers. The Filipino government turns a blind eye when it comes to sex education in the school system. If you want the country to get out of the vicious cycle of poverty....you have to take measures to curb overpopulation.
We can see in other Countries too that religion and state really should be separated. Education about sex and different contraceptives should be mandatory. The values about education/job/having a baby need to be discussed. Finally, children should never be forced to send money to their parents. This culture makes couples have more children. Thank you Rubeauti, I know this is a controversial topic. ❤
There are more religious societies (Malaysia) who don’t have this problem like Philippines. So it’s not so much the religion but the family dynamics culture in the Philippines that’s the problem. The men sleeping around behind their wives’ backs and not even using contraceptives are what is mainly causing this shenanigan. Also unchecked mental health problems and being just dismissed as just a personality quirk, which actually has a huge effect on the rest of the family dynamics. What is happening is when you have less strict traditional patriarchial figures and leave women running households you have these results. You can see this playing out in many black households in America.
For one, America is the country in the western world with the highest number of teen single-moms. It’s also the country in the western world, where the highest percentage of the population believes in the Bible and the book of Genesis. And what does this prove? Religious people are not as educated as non-religious and fucks too much without thinking about the consequenses. 🤷🏼♂️
Rubeauti thank you so much for outlining these many reasons for single parenthood in PI. You briefly mentioned boyfriends saying they love you. I believe a factor is that many men (including those in the western world) tell a woman that "if you love me you will give yourself to me". They blackmail a women so that they can have sex. This is not as big an issue in the west as women have had sex education, easy access to contraceptives and education arounds saying "no". In PI it is a huge issue due to the lack of sex education/contraceptives/religion. Once "done" the men simply move on leaving a pregnant (ex) GF behind. God bless you and the single mothers in PI.
It basically boils down to the lack of sense of responsibility. I am a single mom as well. I was 22 when I got pregnant. Even at that age, I wasn't that mature enough, believing what my ex had promised. Then, he just left after I gave birth. My child is with his parents, but I don't think he's involved enough. Most Filipino men are irresponsible because they won't face the consequences, no law running after them. But I've heard there is one on the way. I couldn't wrap my head around why the government had never thought of that, why they can't seem to know the root cause of certain problems. And when they do find solutions, these are often quick fixes, so they just complicate things more. The key is discipline, starting from our children. That's what we lack now; that's why we have unruly, hypersensitive youth.
It must be hard for you being away from your child and well written. In Australia single women are supported by the Govt and the more children the more money they receive so that in itself is a problem It would be great if your Govt did the same and prevented young women from having to do whatever they have to get money. Take care and from what I have seen learning English seems to be so important to get a good job so hope you have a great future.
I think the lack of career opportunities for women to support themselves and become fully independent is a major reason for them to face the reality of their situation and decide to be content with continuing the cycle of their mothers and grandmothers, getting pregnant and raising the next generation as they feel that's their only choice in life. The Spanish introduced Catholicism to to Philippines, which served them well for the purpose of guaranteeing many generations of a cheap labor force to exploit the islands natural resources. The Spanish are gone so there is no need to hang onto all these ideas that will only keep women enslaved to a life of poverty and hardship.
I think you nailed it: “Keeping up appearances.” This is a very sad situation. I feel for the girls who find themselves with children and no responsible male. Some foreigners might be willing to take on the responsibility of raising another man’s child in order to get a young girl to be with them. But I wonder how happy that relationship will be once the foreigner realizes that the girl’s attention will be divided between him and her children.
I think it's a case of picking and choosing what part of the religion you want to follow. I was surprised how many Filipinos just blindly follow their religion without much knowledge of it. But, they are nice people so maybe that's the most important thing
Blindly? No, they’re only culturally Catholics. They go to church for tradition but leave everything of the teachings out after service. Many who also become single moms are hardly religious at all. My cousin and my dead beat uncle are one. The problem is really lack of education and poverty.
Thank you for another excellent, educational and, to some, a radical video. Education. Education. Education. This video should be required viewing for every young person in the Philippines.
It's a fairly common issue on some developing countries where Catholicism is a predominant religion. Contraception and Birth Control for many years vigourosly discouraged. Abortion discouraged even illegal in some countries. In the Philippines having children is encouraged. When I met the woman I married she was divorced with an 8 year old daughter. It was obvious I had a package deal. It wasn't an issue for me. I treated my step-daughter as my daughter we went on to have two more children. When we married I insisted my Step-Daughter came on honeymoon with us! The ex husband just disappeared for several years. Nobody not even his mom heard from him. He reappeared when his 'daughter' finished school and got accepted for university. He tried unsuccessfully to rebuild their relationship but she wasn't interested. Why ANY parent would would walk out on their kids and have no contact is beyond my understanding! The kids don't ask to be born or for Mom & Dad to split up. If I fell in love with a woman with children it wouldn't put me off her.
Abortion is never the answer for being irresponsible. Simple Don't have sex but if you will use rubber or birth control. Only a few reasons when abortion is acceptable . . . The mother will die. A rape or molestation, incestual rape molestation. That's about it mmmkay
The world aborts 40-50 million babies a year, in the US 3,000 abortions are performed every day. Now they are going nuts with the overturn of Roe vs Wade. - "It is a poverty to decide that a child must die so that you may live as you wish." - Mother Teresa We do not even have to mention the divorce rates. Ronald Reagan enacted the nation’s first “no-fault” divorce law as governor of California in 1971. The real “victims” of no-fault have been the children of divorce. Later, he confessed to his son Michael Reagan it was the “greatest regret” of his political career. In these countries women can no longer hope of permanency in marriage. The family arises from marriage. Life begins at home and the future of humanity passes through the family. The family is the smallest unit of society a broken family is a broken society. Thank God that the Philippines still value their Catholic faith.

I am 50 and i dated a single mom once , the thing is you are more of her slave than a lover, ok not to generalize here but i also spoke to many other men about this. Her kids come first and a lot more before you, you are never the real father either. I notice that most women who message me on okcupid filipino are single mother and what i am afraid is they want a free ticket meal. When i retire to the PH its to buy a condo by the sea, and be happy my remaining years its not to take care of a single mother and on top her family. I am open in dating and will have enough money to provide for 2 but that's about it. I rather spend my remaining years visiting a country and travelling than taking care of someone else kids or family. I gave a lot so far in my life and never actually tough about ME.
If Filipinos took the Catholic faith seriously there would be few single mothers and Filipino fathers would not abandon their children. What real man would simply walk away from their child?
Absolutely right and a little public shaming to go along with it would probably go a long way if you had some of these degenerate deadbeat dads on the side of the road in chain gangs picking up garbage I'm sure child support payments would increase exponentially
The Phillipines schools have to teach Phillipino women to not copy USA's lifestyle of single mothers and choose better with whom they ll have a child with. It's also a trend of the Phillipino women to want having mixed babies with foreigners even if they know that the foreigner gonna leave them but they still don't care. So stop judging negatively only men. It's mainly women's fault
Why does everybody always make excuses for women. Women are the only ones responsible for women getting pregnant there are various forms of birth control and there's also abstinence so if a woman doesn't want to be in this situation she's in she shouldn't have spread her legs for a guy

Very good topic Rubeauti. The catholic churches finances have dropped along with the number of followers. The reason the catholic church does not condone birth control is they feel it would reduce their future economic status/wealth. The Bible(a whole nother topic) never addresses birth control, it is established by the catholic church. With high poverty in the Philippines, the catholic church should do the moral responsible thing and spend ALL collected Fillipino monies in the Philippines. The good works of catholic orphanages and food banks are terribly underfunded. The catholic church hid pedophile priests for years and that was OK but can't drop their stance on birth control. Hypocrisy at its best.
Catholic Church says get married first then have children. These women disobey the Catholic Church's teaching. Why should they obey its teaching on using Birth Control? Also, the infiltration of homosexuals in the Church is what caused hiding pedophiles. 95% of pedophile acts are man to boy. Basic logic.
Have we seen any clerics, priests encounter hunger or deprive of food? Most r obesed coz they dnt have problems financially. D congregation's collection is more than enough for them to spend. That d reality
@@BrianHeimbuecher Very simple indeed, I find organized religion to be very self serving, not serving it's congregation. The ONLY time my church contacts me is when they want money. I am better off with my time helping others, not praying to a monolith. To each their own.
Wow, the title of your vlog really caught my eye because I've wondered the same thing for years, it's a topic that needs to be talked about much more because it's causing so much hardships for filipinos especially for the Filipinas. I think there needs to be more education for the Filipinas and the men need to be reminded of the problems they are causing or at least be held accountable for the children they are bearing, great topic
It is strange when you stop and think deeply. Thousands of Filipina people died trying to remove their Spanish overlords but the people support and defend this foreign church imposed by Spain? I suppose it illustrates the power religion can have. If the church is going to fight sexual education, it should be made financially responsible for supporting single parents. More childcare to allow mothers to study and work would be a good start. Fascinating and insightful video again lovely Rubeauti, thank you! ❤🥰
Glen here lies the problem where people like you and the wonderful people of the Philippines along with the rest of the world's lack in the truth. The so called " Church " has never been a true church. They are the remnant of Rome ( still alive) which tried there best to kill of all the Christians through various means . Their persecution only made the real church grow and at that time as the fastest growing faith. Constantine ( First Pope ) did not believe in Christ and he knew he was going to lose his power , so he came up with the plan of " making Christianity the new State Religion where he created his version of a Church so he could control in the inner workings of this new faith and direct it at his beck and call. This apostate organization has since that time controlled and ran itself as Rome with a new disguise as being something that in it's history has never been. Even today , they are recognized as their own nation throughout the World and they still disguise themselves as the true Church of Christ . Now I know my statement is going to offend many here , but the problem lies in that people do not know " true history " and this is why we find ourselves today where these world powers are erasing history at an alarming rate where they have been successful in enslaving the masses because they do not know what is before them. There are many other religions who prey upon the innocent for the same purposes. I have a great love for the Filipino People and have sponsored children through Compassion International and still do. I also sponsor a couple of single mothers there, because in the end , the Babies are the innocent ones who suffer more. Rubeauti mentioned that the Government will actually take these so-called " boy fathers" money from their pay , but here also lies the problem, with unemployment at an all time high and the poverty rate of these girls who lack in the real truths of sex, they have no means to pay for consul to go after these deadbeat " boy/men " to pay for their indiscretions. This does not excuse the women actions and i certainly do not condone their responsibility either. I personally have witnessed this with 3 young sisters in the last 3 years . All were identical for trusting these " boy/men " in their so-called love for them. I have studied the Culture there for years , I have learned recently it is a sport there now among these boys to "conquer virgins " . The Philippine Government with their draconian rules regarding Covid is destroying themselves within , millions of people with natural immunity are not allowed to come into their Country where they continue to propagate fear all for the love of money , but also total control of policies that in the end will fail as the people there starve. I have wanted to come there and meet the family I have supported for 4 years and I cannot because I refuse to take this poison where their is overwhelming evidence that it is destroying peoples health. I have many friends who took this poison and are now dead from Covid . My heart breaks for the warm loving people of the Philippines , Thailand recently opened their borders without all these rules of Cards, PCR tests , and Quarantines because their economy was collapsing . Yes there are people coming to the Philippines, but it is still not enough to open up cash flow or employment there so people can have a better life to support their families. So for now people like me in the millions will continue to refuse to come there under these rules and directly help in person those we have grown to love as family in out hearts because our health is our responsibility and without it if we do not have it and die, how can we continue to help . My country the USA is under judgement and rightly so for what is going on here and around the world as well as China and this new world system will collapse in time, history as shown it over and over again. Truth will set you free and this is why we see truth attacked all around the world to hide all the lies we are being told.
I don’t believe that Philippines youth do not know about sex. Porn is watched even in the province. Let’s be honest, they want to experience it and brake the rules. Not planning for tomorrow also has a lot to do with it. As a young man I had goals and getting a girl pregnant did not fit into them so I took precautions. Sadly, some boys and even men take pride in “knocking up” girls and the girls go along with it because he’s a fun guy.
This is the most interesting , sometimes very entertaining yet very informative and HONEST transparent “program “ on all things contemporary philipines culture ( with application to world ) It’s fantastic I’m not even a target audience Person BUT because it has zero filler phoney or overdone content I can’t help but search and watch other topics. You are doing an amazing unique and rare job ! Thx.
I'm not scared about taking on the responsibility I've done it before raised 3 but by the time I make it over there I'll be on a fixed income so that might not be the smart thing for me to do is take on the responsibility just from a financial standpoint but I'm absolutely not afraid of it for sure I love children
I think the responsibilities of "single" parenthood should involve both biological parents, the governent, and the religious community since divorces are prohibited by law and the Roman Catholic Church officially has banned any "artificial" means of birth control. The crime and punishment of "adaulterous" relationships has to be ENFORCED and applied to BOTH parties or . . . nullification of the marraige should be made easy and free. At the same time, the government has to nationalize and vigorously promote in providing sex education to all. Both thumbs up to you, Rubeauti.
Most are not legally married. Many have the ceremony but it's not a legal action. If it's legal they do have recourse. They also don't accept blood tests as proof of paternity. At least that's what I've heard.
Thank You Rubeuti for addressing this issue I think it is sad, All Filipino schools need to have required courses starting in 9th grade When "boys" get a Filipina pregnant and "hit it and quit it" they need to be held accountable.no dodging the financial burden, the Philippines Government can implement a Work Force for Deadbeat Dad's to earn a wage to support their child until 18 I've raised step children myself it doesn't bother me, although I wish I'd had my own. And Bravo to all the Pinay who remain virtuous and moral
I've been in The Philippines for 3+ years and have meet many single moms. The main reason why there are so many single moms in The Philippines is that no one is faithful. Often Filipino men will have 2 or 3 children with their wife or gf and then leave for another woman and start a new family. Also, there are often times that a young lady 17-22 will become pregnant and the bf will abandon her because he doesn't want the responsibility.
Fidelity is not why they have children promiscuity is why they have children so it's not because the guys leave that the woman become pregnant is because the women open their legs to allow themselves to become pregnant it is 100% their responsibility unless it's a forcible rape
Religion is an excuse. Responsibility should be the first thought. Teach the ladies to at least know when their time of ovulation. There is still at least 20 more days that month to be irresponsible.
Great Cultural Education Video!! And Poverty still remains a main issue covering many things in the Philippines!! And hoping the Government will try or continue to improve this in the future !! 🤔 ???
Being a single mom in the Philippines has some major consequences to all, namely the continuation of poverty. But why is this phenomenon still persist? Frpm one perspective, young ladies are tricked into believing young Filipino guys into believing those magical word, trust me. The young dudes made.promises to them that they cannot keep, because the boys don’t have any resources to support. Also, young men who only live within their clans will never become financially independent and immature enough to cheat on their young wives. So, my perspective is based on the individualist view. And there is plenty of blame to go around that sadly ingrained many Filipinas to bring chronically poor.
Hello Rubeauti , I agree with what you say over the years I have met many single Mums I really admire them so many sacrifice so much to provide for there children by working abroad of working so very hard for little pay in Philippines , it is without any doubt that the women are the hardest workers in the Philippines , a lot but not all of the male population just sit around smoking in groups , so many rely on there sister's or there wives to bring in the main pay cheque . Thanks Rubeauti another great inside look to your wonderful Country. Take care .
When I was in the Philippines the last time before I met my fiancee. I had dated some other girls' and some of them had 1 or 2 children already and actually all of them told me the same thing. That there boyfriend ran away ,as soon as she told him that she was pregnant. I remember a while back that some of these Filipino's guys were interviewed and several of these guys had 2 children with 2 different girls and soon as the girls told them , that they were pregnant, they ran away. In fact there was one Filipino that had 4 children with 4 different girls and he ran away , in each one when they told him , that they were pregnant. Do they need sex education in the Philippines , yes they do and the girls need to say NO when you have guys running around getting girls pregnant and then they run away. It's not that easy to get away with that in the USA. The district attorney's office will go after these so called " Dead Beat Dads " and make them pay or they will put them in jail. The Philippines should do the same thing and make these " run away dad's " pay child support. I wanted children all my life but the circumstances were never right because I was working so much and when I married my ex wife all of a sudden she told me that she didn't want any kids . That really made me feel bad and then I see all these guys having kids and running away when they find out they got there girlfriend pregnant. I hope me and my fiancee will have a child or two
@@kevinmacdonald9849 Many guys running away from one woman is a red flag. Men running away as soon as they cause a pregnancy…. That’s a different red flag
It’s strange to me how teens-the the availability and reach of the internet and the pervasiveness of sex and related information-don’t know that sex can lead to pregnancy. Also, how could a teen not know how hard it is to live, and all of the responsibilities and struggles of their parents, and still not understand or consider that a child needs to eat and be clothed and a place to live?? People are more insightful and aware than we give them credit for. Regardless of religion, parents don’t teach their children about being committed and being responsible and marriage?? This is crazy.
Well ... Maybe, not all people have free access to information or even internet, like we westeners do, Internet is scarse for a lot of people, and filled with distractions like FB, Online Gaming, YT and TikTok among other things ... They're not going to look into other things then to entertain themselves. Part of it is also just plain teenage stupidity, of experimenting and trying things out, without thinking of consequences. I think we all had our fair share of stupid things we did as teens. Lack of education and access to contraceptives is also an issue indeed... Here kids are put on birth control pills almost as soon as they get their first periodes ... Well, if you don't have access to that, and condoms are laughed at ... You're in for some future trouble. Actually @Rubeauti I think I know what the link to a condom in your wallet might be to money ... IF you have one, you can use it to prevent pregnancy, and we all know, raising a child, costs you a fortune. So it might save you a fortune ;)
@Rubeauti, you are such a beauty. I will get to that in a bit, plus the reason for my post. I sent my wife (who is a Filipina) and asked her to watch you. She likes you too, and intelligence adds to your beauty. Very nice and keep up the good work. Just wondering if you can do a more extensive video on "single Filipina moms chances of getting married after 1 baby, then after 2 babies, then after having 3 babies? And if they do get married, by whom? Filipino men or foreigners? If you've already done this, then pls reference. I've been to the Philippines 5 times (in the city and in the province) already and see much of what you talk about. Thanks.
These lovely philipino women sacrificing their youth to take care of their children are super heros moms. problem is the problem of poverty, and you can find its root in the US and European overthrow of philipns governments and colonization of the Philippines 🇵🇭 people. As an American I feel honored to date a Filipino. I also feel fully responsible for the suffering of the very kind hearted ❤️ Philippines people.
Many countries in Asia had been colonised by Western Civilisations before just like the Philippines was. Some even longer than the Philippines but still they don't face the same social issues pertaining to single mums as serious as the Philippines do.
I think a lot has to do with Christianization of The Philippines also ... If you look at other parts of Asia, they're predominantly Muslim or Buddhist in religion, which have a complete different approach. Men also have a large influence, even if they marry, they still aren't always faithfull and a lot of pregnancies out of wedlock are still occuring. Which again contributes to more problems.
Ronald Reagan enacted the nation’s first “no-fault” divorce law as governor of California in 1971. The real “victims” of no-fault have been the children of divorce. Later, he confessed to his son Michael Reagan it was the “greatest regret” of his political career. In those countries women can no longer hope of permanency in marriage. Philippines do not have divorce and abortions laws. The family arises from marriage. Life begins at home and the future of humanity passes through the family. The family is the smallest unit of society a broken family is a broken society. Thank God that the Philippines still value their Catholic faith.
@@TheSlain1969 Dumb assumptions. There are other traditional Christian countries who have more patriarchial emphasis and don’t have more single motherhood phenomenon than in the Philippines. The problem is that our culture is ruled by not wanting to take up personal responsibilities seriously, and Western hedonism has added more salt to the wounds than helping any. Even during my grandparents’ generation, the men for example go around sleeping with different women behind their backs and leave their women running things more by themselves. This created more generational trauma and will keep passing on until it’s addressed more seriously.
Thank you Rubeauti this is a topic for all countries. The sad truth about sex is the woman gets caught but the man gets away. Children are great blessing who deserve the best we can provide. That said, we need to prepare our youth for the opportunities and challenges of raising a (or more) children. Otherwise, the blessings children provide can be overshadowed by the burdens.
As bad as it is in the phillipines, it's actually much worst in some Muslim countries Education is the enemy of religion, that' why the fanatics fight it
I'd like to disagree with your statement 🙂, John Knox who reformed religion in Scotland ,a Protestant religious fanatic , made education available to everyone in Scotland, he ordered all of the parishes to build a school for all
Rubeauti, you have a beautiful demeanor and "something" that is kind of magnetic. Definitely you are a smart woman; it is easy to see. There are many people posting videos but I had not seen one that demonstrated intelligence and knows how to use it...until I saw your first video. Take it from a Science College Professor from USA. Good luck in your work.
Another excellent and important video from an excellent journalist! Yes, this lack of education is a great problem in many countries, but understand, this is now happening in the US as well, and is part of a trend to return to a social structure and culture that dates back to the middle ages. We have a supreme court that is very Christian Conservative, and they recently crossed the boundaries of the separation of church and state, and as a result, besides banning abortions, many states are seeking to ban books with any sexual content, defund grade school sex education programs that teach about birth control, and even turn against the teaching of biological and behavioral sciences. So the Philippines is not alone in this backward thinking condition. It is partially up to journalists like you to showcase and teach through your own personal experiences and perspectives, which empowers those in your community who might feel estranged by thinking such modern thoughts, which is often their most difficult realities. Gambatte Rubeauti!
There's no lack of Education every day there's millions of examples right on the street of single moms everywhere the women know exactly what they're getting into yet they still open their legs for random men
Dear Rabukan, I agree with your overall commentary and you have made accurate and commendable comments. There are a few well established embedded problems in the Philippines that have created the unhealthy attitude towards sex and many aspects of life there. The number one problem which sits at the top of the pyramid of problems is undoubtedly the citizens domination by the criminal organisation known as the Catholic Church. Almost every problem flows down the sides of the pyramid from religion sitting at the top. To cure all the ills of the Philippines the country needs to FIRST stand up to the Church but be brave enough to live in a world where what you do determines your future. There is absolutely no (nil, none, zip, zero) evidence for any of the religions' imaginary friends in the sky. You are only ruled if you let yourself be ruled by people who only assert (without evidence) that their special imaginary friend will torture you forever in a place called hell - which also does not exist. It can be frightening to grow up from underneath a blanket of pschological manipulation - but it is essential for true growth. Freedom is impossible until you stand up to the liars and the bullies who designed religion to rape you of your self esteem, your pride and self respect - and primarily rape you of your money. There is a lot of freedom on this planet - you only need to know how (and where) to find it. Free countries are countries where religion does not dominate - where it cannot dominate the strong minds of the educated, intelligent and experienced. It is no coincidence that free countries are remarkably corelated with a lack of religion. Love from Australia!
I don’t understand how this going back to religious roots is at all terrible. I look at Malaysia and Indonesia being more conservative than Philippines and their people have less single motherhood households and better educated than many Filipinos today. No, us rather embracing the reckless Western hedonism is why the problems here keep going. Filipinos having a strong patriarchial figure in families is what is badly needed. Not more encouraging hedonism which is even promoting less social responsibilities and accountability of their selves and their actions.
@@ophanimangel3143 First, faith should be based on personal belief, not groupthink, IMHO. But this is a complicated subject, so I'll leave that alone. Second, going back to what roots? The Philippines is still a very religious country. Its roots are still very Catholic, and yet, it has so many single moms because it lacks in education, especially sex education, because sex education is still not allowed in schools, and is rarely taught by parents. Also, Filipinas are looking outside to foreigners because Filipinos do not have opportunities there if they are not "internationally" educated, as the Filipino education system is not yet linked to international systems. Third, the problem of men leaving their women is not a foreigner/Filipina problem. Too many Filipinos are getting young Filipinas pregnant, then the Filipino just abandons their partners, and in a country without birth control, or divorce; the problem is cultural, and has nothing to do with "western hedonism" or again, lack of tradition, or even religion. It's simply a lack of emphasis on parental responsibility. Last, Malaysia's education system is one of the tops in Asia because of its international influences, not because of its traditions. The government has decided to emphasize "international" education, and so there are many international students going there to study. The top education systems in the world are still in the west, by far. Yet, there are more single moms in the west than in Asia mostly because of economics, also a complicated issue, and because of cultural changes due to technology.
@@rabukan5842 If Filipinos are more religious then they wouldn’t be involved with extramarital or premarital sex! Back in the 80s and 70s it was so frowned upon to even be single mothers or have pregnancy during high school. I’ve asked my parents about this so I get a glimpse as to how so much has changed over the last 20 years in this country. If you even know remotely about Catholics is that they can just be culturally Catholic but not religious. Many I knew who got pregnant out of wedlock don’t even go to Church unless during feast days. Many who are in this situation are also ones coming from dysfunctional households with families and relatives sexually and physically abusing them early on. Adding the lack of good education also didn’t help. Again not all religious societies are the same and have the same problems with each other.
Exactly. Thank you. The previous generations of Philippinos DID NOT have this high percentage of single mothers. It is in the past few decades that this has happened. God bless
Interesting subject. It is rare to find a single Filipina without children. Who wants to come here to retire and end up with an instant family? What does a single mom with a few kids and no job bring to the table? It's sad..
With the necessary support, she can become independant and provide also. But what to do if you're sole provider for your kids? It's a hard life I guess.
@@Rubeauti Even if you had sex education at school 🚸 it would take at least 100 years to make any difference to the amount of unmarried mothers in the Philippines. Some things will never change in a third world country. 🇬🇧
New subscriber! Great channel, very informative. I am happy the TH-cam algorhytm suggested your video to me. I will definitely watch a lot of your other videos. I live atm with my Filipino boyfriend in the Philippines. Greetings to you, Susanne
Nah. Its not the man their fault. Often they dont want children at all. They just want sex the woman just need anti conseption. Since they dont like condom they feel like the girl is dirty so the girl should take the needle against preggy once they do that most is solved but its their own choice.
Another insightful video Rubeauti, I’ve seen many grappling, looking for answers to these issues. The real answer is not religion, but a personal relationship with Christ Jesus and obedience to the Word of God. In short… obstinance until marriage… that’s Gods way. And just like that the problem with teenage pregnancy is over. If we keep searching for answers outside of God, we’ll just keep going in circles. Love your channel, Richest Blessings
Hmmm ... Then how is it that it's more rampant within Catholic based society's then for instance Muslim or Buddhist? Sure religion has a large influence ... Not saying it is all the problems, but sure they take a large piece out of the cake. There's really more to it then religion, a lot has been addressed in the video already, but things like boredom, teenage curiosity and experimenting are left out of the video. Where abstinance can be a possible sollution, not all people are religious, what to do with them then?
Extreme capitalism in the Philippine is horrible, Extreme poverty especially in the province is horrible, the Philippines government should be ashame of themselves.
from what I saw in the philippines is that filiinos are more westernized compared to other asian countries. This is the problem because on one hand you have religion yet because of the western influence premarital sex is ok so you end up with a flood of unwanted pregnancies' Another thing I hate are the single mothers online not looking for love but rather an ATM machine to pay for their mistakes and of course you are kuripot if you do not help lol :)
This is the most unanswered question Rubeauti, can I suggest religion plays a huge part, so many kids without fathers is not good, doesn't help the country in the future only adds a burden, and in no way am I blaming the children, until political reform happens nothing will change, no wonder there are many virgins, I don't blame them, the only way they can hopefully have a career in the future is without kids, why the question is, why are the young ones having sex anyway without any sex education, I understand the blessing a child can be but a huge burden in many cases also as you have said which is sad, one thing bar girls learn is about contraception which is a bonus, very taboo subject here Rubeauti, you are young yourself and understand about this, thankyou for discussing this taboo subject ☺
Great video. I remember seeing something on Facebook a few years ago about a television show that was going to try to track down the German fathers of Filipino children. Did that show ever happen?
Hi how you doing I've been watching you for a while I enjoy your videos I noticed you said before some of the younger people are sleeping around it must be the world starting to change over there but a lot of the Philippines are still reserved I wish they all would stay like that instead of the world changing man Best of luck to you
I think we must take a decision to know what is the most important between ''Organisations choices'' or ''personal choices'' ..... like WHO decide ? a religion ? a church ? or a woman ? a couple ? For myself, each person MUST decide for himself/herself because each one is different, each house got theyr own problems. I don't think an organistion can know every problems some futur parents or single mum can have. Maybe i'm wrong, but i think this way right now. I call that ''freedom of choice''. But i understand that ''judgement from others'' can make this situation really difficult.

This is a good topic, Rubeauti. Guys, get your contraceptive!! Girls, if they don't do it, shut it down. A teen having a baby is not very smart. You need to be smart about your choices. You will be on your own. Thank you, Rebeauti.
Thank you!! Was looking for this comment. It just doesn’t make sense what they say.
You hit the nail on the hear. It's almost as if they choose the rule that feel is the easiest to follow. Unbelievable hypocrisy.
How dare you expect a woman to take responsibility for her actions? ;-p
There are too many single mothers on the dating websites. At least half of them either said they had kids, or had the red flag statements indicating that they have some. It’s interesting that the people will not use birth control because of the church, but seem to ignore the religious edicts of not having premarital sex.
Right? You nailed it...
Exactly!!!
Yes u r right
@CL.

The Catholic Church needs to stop its opposition to contraception.
By FAR the best answer, so far.

👍👍
Disclaimer: my opinion is purely based on my observations and is in now way too be taken as researched fact.
From what I've seen most criminal activity appears to be based on environment of the children more so than a lack of fathers in the home. In the Philippines so many children do have have fathers in the home but conform in society just fine.
This is based on my inlaws whose father died from cancer at young age and had no other men to rely on. This is from my understanding but there is a large issue in communication due to language barrier so I could very well be missing some details. Ty
@@Glenarms no it's based on actual research. Children raised by single mothers are half as likely to graduate highschool, half as likely to attend college, earn half as much and are twice as likely to go to prison.

like the saying goes with women. Alpha Seed beta need. I dont understand why men voluntary become cucks. Single mother means you will never be more important than her children. You will always come last in the relationship but will bear all the responsibility. No Thanks
Things that need to change in the Philippines
1) Better sex education in schools including responsibilities and difficulties of becoming parents and explaining everything about STDs
2)Availability of contraceptives even if it's just condoms no matter what culture and religion says. Actually condoms is the best, healthiest, religion tolerant contraceptive method and also protects from STDs
3)Destigmatization of sex related conversations.
The simplest way it’s obvious :
No sex before mariage will fix all the above.
Life is simple why make it complicated.
And Filipino fathers need to meet every boyfriend at the door with a sharp yet rusty machete.
No need to issue any threats. Just let the kid see it. Let him draw his own conclusions about what will happen to that kid's pecker if it shows itself before the wedding night.
I agree.
@@marclapinff2709 I agree, but it will never happen.
6) Emphasize the practice of traditional Asian values.
My daughter had one of those robotic babies ,it drove her nuts ,she pulled the battery out , she did not get pregnant as a teenager
True, that is why there are around 3000 abortions performed everyday in the US, They are now going nuts with the overturing of the Roe vs Wade.
"It is a poverty to decide that a child must die so that you may live as you wish." - Mother Teresa of Calcutta
Thanks!
God will safe them , is your tought , here we see how much you God loves his people
When I was a teenager in the 70's the only sex ed I got, was when my father told me now that I was dating girls.

Wrong. Studies proved sex education INCREASES single parenthood and STDs.
Having many children has nothing to do with children sending money to their parents.
Thanks for sharing and I hope to do some education about this topic when I get settled in my province...
Excellent video hopefully more of your country mates would help spread the knowledge
But I wonder how happy that relationship will be once the foreigner realizes that the girl’s attention will be divided between him and her children.
why? they see it growing up yet do the same thing, having a baby is a job for bum women, each kid is 5 years not having to work
Finally someone talked about it and I admire you for doing so.
Only one way to avoid all the unpleasant situation from having unprotected sex is:
NO SEX BEFORE MARIAGE
why make life difficult when it’s simple?
hahahaha... that is like buying a car without a test drive... not gonna happen with western men!!!!
By far the BEST video on this topic I have ever seen. Well Done Rubeauti, Well Done!!
Brought your step-daughter along with the wife for the honeymoon?
You...you SCOUNDREL you! 😎👍

We do not even have to mention the divorce rates. Ronald Reagan enacted the nation’s first “no-fault” divorce law as governor of California in 1971. The real “victims” of no-fault have been the children of divorce.
Later, he confessed to his son Michael Reagan it was the “greatest regret” of his political career.

Religion also prohibits premarital sex. Lol it’s them not being accountable and shifting the blame to religious group.
Very good presentation on a difficult issue.
Good for you. they want you to provide for her and the kid/kids and her family but your last in the equation. I say... good luck to her. FOH
If Filipinos took the Catholic faith seriously there would be few single mothers and Filipino fathers would not abandon their children. What real man would simply walk away from their child?
The Philippines needs a law that makes fathers responsible for all of their offspring. AND THEY NEED TO ENFORCE IT!
Yes! They should make a law! It works so well here in America.

An interesting topic.
Stephen:
Well said.
And I bet that's your justification for not going to ANY Church. How... simple!
The church can't make anyone do or not do anything.
If the people in the Philippines were so greatly influenced by Roman Catholic Church, sex outside marriage would not be so common in the country.
What a Great Commentary! Many Thanks! 👍
This is the most interesting , sometimes very entertaining yet very informative and HONEST transparent “program “ on all things contemporary philipines culture ( with application to world )
It’s fantastic
I’m not even a target audience Person
BUT because it has zero filler phoney or overdone content I can’t help but search and watch other topics. You are doing an amazing unique and rare job ! Thx.
GOD BLESS ALL THE FILIPINA WOMEN IN THE PHILIPPINES AS WELL AS ALL THE MEN. ❤🛐🕎✡🇮🇱🇵🇭🇺🇸
Nothing to do with God, blame the Philippine government.
Thank You Rubeuti for addressing this issue
I think it is sad, All Filipino schools need to have required courses starting in 9th grade
When "boys" get a Filipina pregnant and "hit it and quit it" they need to be held accountable.no dodging the financial burden, the Philippines Government can implement a Work Force for Deadbeat Dad's to earn a wage to support their child until 18
I've raised step children myself it doesn't bother me, although I wish I'd had my own.
My father in law had 7 children. He ran off with a neighbor woman who had 9 kids!
The women don’t say no
Fidelity is not why they have children promiscuity is why they have children so it's not because the guys leave that the woman become pregnant is because the women open their legs to allow themselves to become pregnant it is 100% their responsibility unless it's a forcible rape
sounds the same everywhere else
BREAKING NEWS ....Its the same in America
This explanation of the high level of single moms in the Philippines is brilliant. Everyone should read and discuss it in group settings.
I hope me and my fiancee will have a child or two
That happens worldwide, or just deadbeat dad's who pay nothing. Never gonna stop it, because bonking is fun!

Great topic and I agree with all your points.

Bravo again. I do enjoy listening to you as there is no BS here and I respect your thoughts. Keep up the great work.
sweetie pie you are so smart, so province educated and im so proud of you for being so open with the truth.🥰
I salute the single moms of the 🇵🇭 True heroines
You explain it so well. Thank you I learned alot even though I know some of that you said already. You do really Well R😎
As bad as it is in the phillipines, it's actually much worst in some Muslim countries
Education is the enemy of religion, that' why the fanatics fight it
I'd like to disagree with your statement 🙂, John Knox who reformed religion in Scotland ,a Protestant religious fanatic , made education available to everyone in Scotland, he ordered all of the parishes to build a school for all
At least in Indonesia and Malaysia you don’t often find many single mothers left with many babies from different men.
Thank you Rubeauti for your clear explanation an insight in your culture .Regards,Marc.Belgium.
Phillipino women have to learn to be more responsible and stop coping western USA lifestyle of single mothers.
Exactly. Thank you. The previous generations of Philippinos DID NOT have this high percentage of single mothers. It is in the past few decades that this has happened. God bless
I love your videos they really speak to the Filipino issues of the day.
It's a hard life I guess.
it is common also to abandon the responsibility of fatherhood in other countries . there are government agencies trying to enforce child support .
It's more fun in the Philippines!
And when people don't know the consequences of there actions you have lots of little bunnies running around 🇬🇧🇵🇭🙏

They need to pass a law where the men have to take care of there kids also or be jail for a long time
Nah. Its not the man their fault. Often they dont want children at all. They just want sex the woman just need anti conseption. Since they dont like condom they feel like the girl is dirty so the girl should take the needle against preggy once they do that most is solved but its their own choice.
@@Rubeauti it’s not right it takes to to make a baby
If you send the man to jail he couldn't help the kid either.. I don't think that would solve the issue
Another insightful video Rubeauti,
I’ve seen many grappling, looking for answers to these issues.
Love your channel,
Richest Blessings
So much to absorb, I watched twice to get it all. Thank you for the video, it was very informative and the insights into your culture were helpful. 👍
All very relevant 2 the Philippines.Good vlog Rubeauti, very factual.
from what I saw in the philippines is that filiinos are more westernized compared to other asian countries.
How did you come up with the name Rubeauti as you channel name. Does it have a particular meaning?
These types of videos are very informative, even if the topic is serious. Your straightforward presentation style is great. 👍🏾 Best of luck to you!
Thanks for the information Rubeauti
Great video. I remember seeing something on Facebook a few years ago about a television show that was going to try to track down the German fathers of Filipino children. Did that show ever happen?
Hi how you doing I've been watching you for a while I enjoy your videos I noticed you said before some of the younger people are sleeping around it must be the world starting to change over there but a lot of the Philippines are still reserved I wish they all would stay like that instead of the world changing man Best of luck to you
Really well done! Thank you for sharing this important information!

There's no simple answer, that's for sure. Thank you for the episode!
