A bit of input i'd like to give.....i've serviced thousands of Steyrs over the last decades and i've never seen rust on a Hammer. Very occasionally on a hammer spring and in over 20 years of shooting Steyrs i've only stripped mine down once after it got soaked. Shooting outdoors using an old gun bag and on completion straight into a clean dry bag (something like an Aim) will negate most of the detritus that can work itself inside.
Superb video Gary. So informative and really like your humour and self deprecating manner. It’s good to know someone of your calibre can occasionally duff shots up a bit too. An interesting rifle for sure and one I didn’t know anything about so have learnt a lot from this. Looking forward to your next video, cheers 😁
Interesting video. I think what you have demonstrated, is that a consistent head position is key to accuracy. Its clear to see when you shoot prone, your head is at an angle noticeably away from the vertical. As you move up the peg, the head becomes more vertical. Standing, your head is even more vertical. With each position, your head position changes and so does your point of impact. I own an LG110 by the way, and they are superb rifles.
I bought a Steyr lg110 about 12 years ago, the other day while sorting out some rubbish found my Steyr LG110 in its case. With a few hours to spare i pumped it up, out into the garden and target up at 25m after dropping a few pellets on the floor I remembered why i hated it so much, loading it was a real pain. Back in the cupboard, may be ill find it again in the future. Back to the FX M3 in 22 and 60 ft lb what a pleasure it is to shoot
I shot with Toni at HFT Worlds 2023. She was outstanding. It was rare when she didnt knock down a target. She was fun to shoot with a a great shooting partner....
Like the vid Gary . if you have a problem loading because of the cocking lever in the way , either elevate or depress the barrel and you hand will over or under the lever . hope that helps .
Yo, on first target you said you’d aim at the first shot but the impact wasn’t in relation to the first shot when POI was at bulls eye. Surely your second shot should have been left and low in relation to previous shot. Did you edit out scope correction ?
Still got my Steyr LG110FT.. Its never been messed with. A Daystate CRX A Daystate 2000 I dont shoot HFT... I shoot FT The Steyr is good but I prefer the Daystates All my rifles are set at 10.5ft/lbs ... Because our local anti gun police will use any pellet they can get a hold of in an attempt to get it to go over power. If you almost close the bolt but dont snap it forward.. Thats the dry fire position. I paid £950 for mine direct from Harry Preston he lives around 20 miles from my house.
Hi Gary. Sorry, this is off topic and may well be something you've discussed before. I've been shooting for many years but only recently decided to get into hft. Springer of course. Does the TX200 benefit from short stroking? Are there any downsides, slower velocity, more wind issues perhaps. Just wondering if i should go down that route.
Genuine question I am usually to afraid to ask because it seems a touchy subject these days but I feel people here on this channel are a bit more grounded.... So my question is, why do women have a separate class in shooting sports? I understand in athletics or football etc... the physical differences between men and women give men an advantage, but in shooting surely women are a physically capable as men. so why compete separately?
Hi Doom. 100% women in hft are as good if not better then most of the men. Truth is, a woman's class is good for some of the ladies. They like competing against each other and when a woman joins the sport it gives them a preformed group to instantly be a part of. Most woman after competing in the ladies for a few years join the Open class, but some enjoy the ladies and stay. Apparently its nicer and they have lots of throw pillows. Hope that helps Gary
Great vid Gary .. good news about the amalgamation , or is it ? , will the price increase ? And whats it going to be called? ... me daughter buys me the Airgun world @ £5.99 , don't think she'll go any higher for a " bumper " magazine ..
@@garychillingworth She used to .. but something went wrong when renewing subscription and she gave up ( id have to ask her what ) so its singe editions now ..
@mark homer When we moved from Archant to Fieldsport press lots of people lost subscriptions. Worth trying again. You can get a print and digital and you can then acsess past issues.

Apologies everyone, i forgot to put the strip down link in the description. Ill do it tomorrow when i get home. Gary

Great video as always Gary. The Steyr does look like a lovely bit of kit. Thank you.
excellent review thank you Gary
Excellent video, Gary.
Don’t give it back. 😉
Those splatter targets are aweful as they distort exactly where the pellet is hitting, Great info as always Gary.

Gary when you shot the free stander you rock back and forth very, very slightly.
Hi John, to take out the side to side wobble I place the crosshairs above the kill and drop down through it. Hope that makes sense
You made me buy one 😂 cheers Gary
Top notch content as usual Gary.
excellent video Gary. outstanding as usual...
I had the HFT hunter 2022. Didn't like the cold girder feeling in my hands, didn't like the endless barrel cleaning every 150 pellets.
Great video. I really enjoy your channel - thanks 👍
Great job Gary 👍 I hope Richard gets on well with it🤞
If he ever gets it back from me :-)😅

Try a Kalibrgun will knock spots off the accuracy and a hell of a lot cheaper
Agree
That's why you see loads on the target circuit?????
How anyone can shoot crickets or bullpups is beyond me. I can't hit fk all with em.too short for my build. Give me a hefty full-length rifle anyway.
Be interesting if you could do a review with the new air arms XTI 50, and compare it too a steyr. Has im torn between the xti 50 or a steyr..
Thanks think I will stick to my AA protarget mk3
That's quite a loud introduction indeed, nice to see the review though
Great video and informative. My Gunsmith says to never shoot my TX200 or any gun in the rain!
Still got my Steyr LG110FT.. Its never been messed with.
A Daystate CRX
A Daystate 2000
I dont shoot HFT... I shoot FT
The Steyr is good but I prefer the Daystates

Hi the Mk2 TX is short stroked and is quite sort after. The TBT short stroke kits are popular.
If I had a Mk3 TX, I woukd short stroke it
Shoot and see targets...check, correct focus on the camera......oh, hold on...

@@garychillingworth Makes 100% sense, cheers Gary
Is that rifle so quiet, or its just microphone? Mine LG110 long version with same air stripper is loud like z .22lr.
I think the microphone is deadening the high notes.
I own 3 Steyr lg 110 , there is no better

I'm not sure about price, but look at a subscription, you get it delivered, it's cheaper then in the shops and you fet free insurance.

Only achievable for people without a mortgage
The paddle moved 2 times in a row sir. Perhaps the target requires a bit of WD40.
Great video, but single shot seems to be way outdated
My own opinion, for myself.
PCP's are too easy for targets. Not really any challenge.
Great for hunting.
So your in the pocket of Air Arms…..
Yes, that's why I'm reviewing a Steyr :-)
I'm a Air Arms Ambassador and I never hide that.
