Everyone knows and loves Colin but I feel like the world sleeps on the legendary Brendan Gleeson. The guy is a simply magnificent actor. In Bruges, Troy, Braveheart, Gangs of New York, 28 Days Later, Harry Potter, etc etc etc, whatever the guy touches turns to gold. He was fantastic on SNL, it was hilarious to see a big intimidating formidable guy like him just being silly and having the time of his life.
You forgot the guard and calvary
Not me mate ,the guy's a star and when they work together it's magical if it's half as good as in bruges we are in for a treat
How can you list that many films and leave out the Guard? His best film performance arguably
don't forget caca milis
I enjoyed him as well in Mr. Mercedes.
Colin Farrell is without a doubt one of the most charismatic celebrities I have ever seen and heard. He is incredibly witty, articulate, funny and sensitive. No wonder ladies love him
Add to that the fact that he's hung and no other man on Earth stands a chance! LMAO
Most of us Irish men are like him , if not better 🥹👍😂😂😂
@@Success4u247
Most Irish men have a fat belly, drink beer all day and talk about football.
Simply put he’s Irish
@@Haerinx87 You chose murder
Colin Farrell is so polite and supportive of Brendan. First class!!
and just about let him speak
Brendan is a master of his craft
The interviews I’ve seen with these two Colin keeps butting in
@@IT-li3ul Some people can't help it, my mother does this all the time, at some point you just come to realize thats part of who they are.
@@IT-li3ul It's the problem with these celebs who always want the limelight and don't know common courtesy.
I want the Colin and Brendan podcast. I could listen to the two of them talk about **anything** for days on end. Such a joy.
Colm just would find you dull
Agreed. If you haven't already, have a listen to Peter O'Toole and Richard Harris. Both Irish, bonding vibe and endless story telling of respect and throwing caution to the wind.
Colin Farrell is so adorable. It's been lovely to see how he's blossomed as an actor over the past decade. And him with Brendan is just a perfect pairing.
I was living in Paris when In Bruges and the Cillian Murphy movie, Breakfast in Pluto, came to the cinemas there, and I felt like I was back home in Ireland for a few days as I carried those personalities around Paris with me. The personal connection we have with these actors, especially Brendan, is really hard to explain.
I can't get at it from that personal perspective, but seeing these two in this interview (and remembering both films, especially the former) I feel an odd kinship. No genetic bollocks or anything (I'm rather removed from my Irish ancestors) but just a lovely sense of what friendship really means.
It's also lovely you have that sense of connection. It's a thing to be treasured 🙂
Ah, those are both great movies! I remember seeing them on the big screen. You've just reminded me how wonderful it was in the days when we would go to actual cinemas to see the new films. As Seth would say, back in my day...
@@jessamineprice5803 both the Irish and the French are huge cinema goers, even now. My American friends often remark on it. The Irish love a good story, and the French like to incorporate art into their daily lives. Cinema is essential to a good life, I think
@@dontbefatuousjeffrey2494 honestly, although Irish people tend to get excessively sneery about Americans who say they're Irish, I do think that certain cultural traits can survive generation to generation. So it doesn't surprise me that you find something in you resonates with Colin and Brendan, especially the two of them being together, which is like ground zero intensity of Irishness 😂
@@hoozle That's a lovely comment: and if I mention I'm the Australian great-grandchild of a reputed Irish rogue, please don't think too badly of my family. They spent a long time hiding that one: seems that even in the Colonies you don't get out scot free after the penal system's over. 😕
edit: great GREAT grandchild, sorry - we're a mixed brew in my family, like a lot of Skippys 😀
I love these two! What magnificent actors and a beautiful friendship.
Brendan Gleeson has been so under rated his whole career. He's great with Colin of course but deserves more recognition for all his work.
Oh! 😮A, H❤RT touching feedback thank you so much for your support and prayers to my career 🌹 where are you watching from
I'm so happy Brendan is getting his dues.
Amazing actor.
Absolutely, i spent a weekend searching all his films and binging them. Also Mr Mercedes is incredible.
His kid is baller too!
@@soyborne.bornmadeandundone1342 Yes 👍
Brendan was in a short film by the same director called Six Shooter that also featured his son, it's on Film4's youtube channel & i highly recommend it to anyone who hasn't seen it.
@peter g dues is just the plural of due no? & due either means a necessary payment or more commonly what is owed to someone
These two lads are the best in the cinema industry tbh.
We saw Banshees this past weekend, and I'm still telling people about it. The move has a unique story with clever writing and fantastic acting. Well done!
I watched the other night and I spent the whole 1 1/2 hours in tears!! I felt to bad for Colin's character!! He was so sad after losing his friend!! Then he lost his donkey and I really lost it!!
this film BROKE my heart ❤️❤️ but my goodness what a STUNNING stunning film beautiful beautiful acting 💖❤️❤️
Me too!! I spent the entire 1 1/2 hours in tears !!!
I saw it last night and it gave me a kind of hangover today. Just the level of sadness and hurt and loneliness in it (and some of my own stuff) made me hyper-aware of how much we humans have to carry around sometimes. Such a beautiful, beautiful movie. And I loved Jenny the donkey. She should get an agent and a 10 movie deal... she's a superstar.
Just saw this movie and I loved it. These two actors never fail to deliver. Well done lads
I would watch anything with these two in it. They are both so amazing but together they really take it up another level. Gleeson and Farrell may be my favorite acting pair of all time.
Here here I agree Collin is such a beauty and a Cutie. Brendan is such fun and a Gentle Soul.
I could watch interviews between these three forever! The humor, camaraderie and genuine friendship shines through :)
One of most original, creative screenplays ever : the laughs, the cries, the horror ; that film hits on every cylinder. Simply amazing .
The Irish lads! Just a lovely interview. Such an affection for the Irish accent

Two powerhouse actors. Love these guys! The Banshees of Inisherin is my most anticipated movie of 2022. Can't wait to see it.
I hope you have by now. It is INCREDIBLE!!! 🤩

See it in the theater. The scenery is breathtaking
Colin was my celebrity crush almost 20 years ago, certainly still is. Great actor and so charming off screen.
Moi aussi loved him since the recruit

@@fatyfarrell Tiger Land is great too.
I always forget about Colin until I see him in a movie or talk show. And swoon over him everytime and wonder how I can forget him.
first saw him in Ballykissangel. And first saw Brendan in The General -- amazing
I've never seen Colin laugh and smile so much. I've always seen him as this.serious actor. It's so nice to see this side of him. I love to listen the way he talks. I've only heard him speak in an American accent. I love his acting but watching this side of him, I've have much more respect for him.
Colin Farrell, one of my top 5 favourite actors, his range surprised me; Tigerland, In Bruges, True Detective etc
Don’t forget Miami Vice. Totally underrated movie.
The best acting he's done was in very chilling series called North Water. See him in that and you'll appreciate him even further.

@@davidodonovan4135 I mean kinda both work upon a second look haha
If you love In Bruges and Banshees of Inisherin then you might be interested to know that Martin McDonagh's brother John Michael McDonagh has also made two films with Brendan Gleeson with a similar vibe of dark, poetic, Irish humour called The Guard and Calvary which are also great.
In case anyone hasn’t seen it, when Colin hosted SNL, there’s a sketch with Seth and a bunch of others at a key party. It is one of my all time favorites. In high school, my friend and I would quote it constantly, and now, like 2 decades later, I still think about it all the time.
Brendan Gleeson, what a star. He gave a shout-out to Passion Machine, a legendary company in Irish theatre. They were like nothing and nobody else and anyone who was alive in Dublin in the 80s and 90s knows what he's talking about.
They seem much more relaxed with Seth than they did with Stephen on Monday night. Glad to see that they are getting out there to do a lot of press for the movie. Looking forward to seeing it.
was surprisingly nice hearing them on colbert though, he just let them talk
@@JJJackson777 it was nice to see them both on the show. You just get the sense from their back and forth that there was an easiness to the conversation that they didn’t have with Stephen although that was probably down to the fact that they had never met before. Just noticed that Pierce Brosnan and Sharon Horgan are on tonight with Seth. Is it St. Patrick’s - so many Irish people on Late night chat shows this week?
@@Rheinmeister09 no i get where you're coming from lad don't worry, i've always found seth myers to be one of the most under appreciated talk show hosts - a fair few of them seem a tad artificial in their conversation.
& i think that might just be coincidence yanno, cos St Patricks' day is always on March 17th.
@@JJJackson777 Irish person here. Rhetorical question about Patricks Day!!! It's unusual but a nice change to see so many Irish people doing so well in their own right that it doesn't have to be linked to promoting St. Patricks Day.
@@Rheinmeister09 hahah that's that quick irish wit going straight over me head, i'd love to see Ireland one day - idk what it is you lot put in your water but christ on a bike - so many great actors & artists to come out of tiny isles

In Bruges has been my favorite movie since the first time I saw it some 12 odd years ago, and I'm so GLAD that the world at large is finally seeing the magic these two and Martin create together! Fantastic film, but that's no surprise.
Just remembered scenes from Kingdom of Heaven, Cold Mountain and Goblet of fire. Such an amazing actor.
Seth is great with interviews like this...he understands the bromance and lets them at it
Colins deserves a lot lot more respect , one of the best actors and humans on the planet
Thank you for this interview as I love seeing Colin Farrell and Brendan Gleeson together . I think these two Gentlemen truly enjoy each other's company .

I hope they all do another film together, this trio is amazing!
I utterly adored In Bruges, & am so hyped for this film!
Their chemistry is reminiscent of Peter O'Toole and Richard Harris. I love these two together.

Hello Heather ❤️
This was so delightful. I couldn't help smiling widely throughout. The two of them just have this sweetness with each other that radiates genuine warmth and happiness--felt it when Colin showed up at SNL as well. Lovely. And of course it helps that Seth is a big fan.
One correction for Seth, though: 14 years and 18 years are most definitely not equally long ago!
Loved this fillum. I was nervous that that chemistry from In Bruges would be hard to recreate but they somehow it pull it off masterfully. It's a more mature movie tonally but they all have matured exponentially (I include Martin McDonagh here) so it was a really great experience watching them all at the top of their game. I hope it wins a ton of awards, this movie will stick with me for a long time.
What a fun interview. Having just watched the film, it feels funny to me seeing them enjoying each other's company so much.
In Bruges is one of my favorite movies of the last two decades. And I know Banshees will join it when I see it.
What a treat! They have such chemistry and beautiful, natural chemistry and they're amazing actors to boot.
As a rule I don't buy films on disc to keep. "In Bruges" was one of those rare ones I did, I ordered it immediately after watching it the first time.
Brendan is one of those actors who has been in so many films over the years and you never noticed until one role stood out, then it's... "He was in that?"
Then you realise just how many films you watched without ever noticing him.
This was literally a joke from his SNL monolouge.
@@cleverusername9369 I don't get SNL.
Well, not that I don't get it... I mean I don't get to watch it.
Whose monologue by the way?
Opposite for me. I notice him in everything because he steals the scenes and he has an amazing presence.
Any film Brendan Gleeson is in, I see. He is an amazing actor. Colin Farrell is good too.
This movie was fantastic. They deserve all the accolades they're getting.
Oh! 😮A, H❤RT touching feedback thank you so much for your support and prayers to my career 🌹 where are you watching from
Watch the movie--then watch it again. It's even better the second time. If these two (plus more than one supporting actor!) don't get Oscars, Oscars don't mean anything.
I watched it here in Melbourne Australia for the first time. Hearing my name in the film was a bonus.
First I saw it alone, then I saw it with my Mom, then last night I saw it for a third time with my Sister and each time I fall more in love with it!
I’ve got to admit that I’ve streamed it a few times just to view certain scenes that I appreciate the quality of the acting. Thoroughly enjoyed the film. Loved Kerry Condon’s performance also
@@siobhanmurphy4912 there's a wonderful Siobhan in the series Succession
You can count all the bad things about this movie on one hand.
I was hesitant to see the film but so glad I did. There are so many layers to each character & the dialogue, not to mention the incredible photography.
Hello Carol❤️
The last time I had this much fun watching two Irish actors dote on their friendship and share stories was watching Peter O'Toole and Richard Harris. Both pairs of friends are truly enjoyable to behold.
One of the best interviews I've seen. Love Seth and these two!
i absolutely love Mr. Farrell. One of my favorite actors. HE can play anything
He’s fab in this. Has to act his socks off but makes it look so natural. You can’t beat the Irish for having a natural gift-of-the-gab. ☘️

My husband and I were in Bruges before the movie came out and I felt like we were there during the shooting even though we didn't see any of it but we were in a bar which ended up lasting until around 3am when the bartender (who played a lot of Sinatra and Dean Martin for us because we were from Chicago) told us that a director of some movie bought us a round. I want to believe it was Martin.
In Bruges is one of my favorite movies EVER! and the town is lovely as well. We were privy to a huge ceremony/parade of Jesus' blood on our last day which I will never forget. I can't wait to see these two together again!
Haven't seen a film that captured the essence of life so much in years.
Brendan Gleeson will always be The General.
Brendan's laugh is great.
He killed it on SNL. Rebuilding year, sure... but he saved the show.
Colin flaming Seth's hairline "you know yourself" lol!

"Tigerland'' is a hidden gem. "The Guard'' is very good.
I think The Garda might still be the highest grossing Irish film
In Bruges is one of my all time fav films, all the better since Bruges is one of the few places I've been in Europe.
I love this film! It's more character study than plot and that's what makes the movie so fascinating & engrossing. I would not be mad if The Banshees of Inisherin (or Top Gun: Maverick) wins for Best Film at the 2023 Academy Awards.

Sad, intriguing, and beautiful. I got sucked in gradually. I think Padriac's grief was the hook. Colm was resolved with his choice, but it was his choice. His doings. The whole town thought it insane, tried to talk him out of it, but he was set. He couldn't be friends, because Padriac was "dull." I disagree with Colm, who's no picnic. He cuts off his nose to spite himself. Maybe that's the point of his self-mutilation. I like to think Padriac eventually accepted what he couldn't change. That, being Colm.
'you always hurt the one you love' nice 🤩
