In the coming weeks, I'll be doing a couple "what I ate in 2 weeks" vlogs to show how I turned all the food I already had into meals. Also, since I'm sure I'll get some comments about this, yes, I'm aware that my wall has a gash in the paint. Happened when maintenance installed the replacement stove. I live in a cheap complex.
Sarah have you ever made butter out of clearance cream? If you find alot of cream on clearance you can beat it until it becomes butter, after that you can make ghee which is shelf stable.
Hi Sarah! I’ve been watching your channel for a couple of years and want to say I appreciate your frugal food videos. A lot of us don’t have a ton of extra money, and I’ve used your recipes to make cheap biscuits and other things like vegetable broth from my scraps. I can’t wait to see what you create out of what you had available to you!
Loved the video. I always like seeing pantries and yours was quite interesting. We would love to see you more often: maybe some meal plans, what I ate in a week, recipes.... anything really!
I love your videos. I freeze bread too. If you live alone it saves from wasting a lot of it you can’t eat fast enough before it goes bad. And I agree that toasted can be just fine. My mother came to visit for a while and made me throw away all my cupboard foods that were ‘slightly’ expired and now I feel bad because I knew they would have been fine and safe. She pestered me so I gave in. It’s good to see how you can make a lot of great meals on a budget. for some special foods it’s worth splurging but others are just fine with a bit of work and imagination even if they’re cheap.
Yeah, some foods are just fine past the sellby date! It took me a while to learn that. Always a good idea to at least open it and smell it first before you throw it away. Good policy for foods that haven't reached the sellby date, regardless.
I am a passionate believer in spices and herbs - and the Instant Pot! You can make some wonderful flavours in the simplest of foods (beans and rice, for instance), which is just what we all want these days when there is inflation causing us all to tighten our belts in food shopping and energy use. This was such an interesting pantry tour to me, since I have only recently completed my first ever inventory of everything in my pantry, fridge and freezer, I'm shopping first from what I've already bought. I can't believe I haven't done this before because it's so logical to do it that way. I think it will reduce my food waste and help reduce my food shopping bills.
Lol…my SF apartment has pretty good storage but not in the kitchen. If you open my coat closet you’ll find cans of green beans and veg. Bag of rice. Open just about any storage area here and more cans, etc. It’s all space!
I love seeing in peoples pantries! I have a tiny kitchen and also have a “pop up” pantry shelf. It annoyed me at first, but I’ve collected some cute used jars and now I kinda like it! We had chicken thighs and rice for dinner tonight ☀️
Use the home made hot sauce in your soup beans and the park bone. They are so good or use a can of rotell . Diced green chilies and tomatoes. I use 1/2 a can and freeze the rest for later.
Use the ketchup in a meatloaf and a topping mixed with a little brown sugar. I even can meatloaves in 1/2 pint jars. So I can just heat and go on garden season. Just add veggies and mashed potatoes and homemade gravy.
Probably you could use that poblano hot sauce for cooking instead of throwing it away. I usually add the sauces I don't enjoy alone to stir fries, curries and stews. Some soy sauce, garlic and sugar transform the taste.
Yeah, I've been using it in the marinade whenever I make hot chicken 😂 There's enough other flavors going on that I don't taste it. It's just annoying every time I look at that bottle and go, "ohhhh, you don't taste very good..."
You could grind up those small amounts of nuts and put them in pesto. Also, while fresh ginger tends not to be expensive, and you can freeze it, you don't have to buy an entire hand of ginger. If you only need one finger, you can break it off the hand and just buy that piece.
I share your spice and rice addiction. I don't do tea but my coffee collection is nice! It's sad to run out of fizzy :( and I have a legume addiction...if all else were to fail, we'd have spiced legumes. Love your pantry!
@@SarahLovesFood I knew it’s shady but you could just do it and see if he likes it. I remember using flax seed oil then sprinkling it on. Now I just make plain popcorn and sprinkle it on
I've been using it on spaghetti with tomato sauce the past few days and I actually like that okay so I think that's probably what I'm going to do with the rest of it.
Coke habit lol I forget about your husband's coke habit. I wish you to come upon money soon to stock up! I find sales on soda at Albertson's and Safeway.

Great video. Didn’t notice the gash. Look forward to the vlogs. See you then.

I look forward to seeing what you make with all that. New subscriber friend here and hello 👋🏻

I love your storage canisters. They look like ones that I used to have.

Loved the video! I freeze bread as well. It’s much better than wasting it. I’m team creamy as well. 🙂 Have a great weekend!

Chicken thighs and rice is legit one of the best meals ever. I approve. 🙌

Looking forward to your creative meal videos. Looks like you've got some great ingredients there.
Thanks!
ooh, thanks!
Nutritional Yeast is soo good on any kind of soup!! I'm not vegan but I love the taste!

I hope to see the meals you create with your pantry items and groceries!
That's the plan!

I use enough ginger that it's not a problem for me, thankfully.
You could use the coconut syrup in coffee as well. It’s my absolute favorite for my coffee.

My guts don't like legumes so I can't eat a lot of them, but I do usually keep a few different kinds.
Ok nutritional yeast can be sprinkled on popcorn. It makes it taste like movie theater popcorn in my opinion and it’s so good!! No salt needed.
Yeah, I heard some people do that, though my husband doesn't want to try it. 😂

Hi Sarah, you have all those eggs so you can make Mayo if need be. Great job,. I have about the same amount of spices, lol! Love & Light, Shanaarae
I was thinking about making mayo... we'll see!
new subscriber👋🏿👋🏿🥰🥰👍🏿👍🏿
I spent this morning doing the exact same thing. I do not think I will have to go to the store this next week at all.
I mean, it's also kind of fun and it's a good opportunity to physically clean the pantry as well, so it's a win-win. 👍🏻
You should look up a vegan pasta sauce or dip that uses a lot of nutritional yeast if you want to use it up quickly
I've been using it on spaghetti with tomato sauce the past few days and I actually like that okay so I think that's probably what I'm going to do with the rest of it.

Make a chicken salad with the artichokes it good.
Creamy peanut butter is far superior to crunchy!
Thanks!
Who’ve become of of my favorite TH-camrs Sara.. hope this helps a little:)
