Currently I’m pretty sure my BOV’s haven’t been working have you experienced anything like this? My turbos are whistling louder then they were and don’t hear the BOVs anymore, any thoughts on what could’ve happened?
Yeah, the purpose of that hose is to redirect the excess air to the lower pressure side of the intake when you let off the throttle. Under steady operation no air is flowing through that hose. The end he left open is electronically closed by that valve and only opened to let air out.
Great ingenuity! But I tried it and the sound is hardly noticeable. It's about the same as someone going "Pssst!" in a quiet room. It doesn't help that there's so much piping in between the air intake and turbochargers and the fact there's an automatic transmission with a torque converter. I wouldn't even recommend spending the time doing this on the EcoBoost 3.5L V6 honestly, unless you're really bored. Something worth looking at is removing the "noise generator" and replacing it with a full on BOV. The noise generator is that large trumpet looking thing attached near the throttle body. It provides the "growl" that we hear with the quiet engine. It is not present on the MKS because the target demographic would complain about the growl.
Just bought a sho with this done at least in front from what I've seen so far. Anyone have a part number and or size for these hoses? I would like to keep mine in bone stock shape for now

I even have it tuned and flash to stock before the dealership as well. As far as the thermostat? Not sure, I'm still on a stock thermostat.
