    I recently added 3 sick jigsticks to my quiver! These were wrapped by Johnny in Irvine. They're great clean work! Highly recommend his stuffs. You can contact him on FB through 'Schoeberl and Son Custom Rods'.
    2 of the rods are 10fters. The Ulua Skinny Butt and Calstar 100j mag. The 3rd is a 9fter White Tiger Honey Tip. All loaded great! The Ulua was more parabolic than I expected. If you're in the market for any of these models do not hesitate to pull the trigger. They're all great rods!
    Enjoy!

    Only thing I don’t like about this is casting towards a beach/people/parking lot. I know that spot at mothers beach and if you snap a line or knot that iron/lure easily making it the the houses or parking lot on the other side. I’d be fucking curious if some dude smashed me or my car with a 7x

    Nice rods. I used to have the white tiger 7x but I had the second gen which wasn’t as nice it was too stiff. I want gf100j mag and gf100j.
    Also, what kind of braid is that and pound test?
    I’ve always been against braid but lately have been messing around with it on different set ups. I’ve tried power pro, j braid and izorline. I know some good jigs guys are using the Seaguar thread lock 50lb hollow core now

      Turner's Californian 9footer 25-60 is $150 on sale. Other than that a calstar 90j e-glass. You could always wrap a rod. I just wrapped a calstar btg90j and it costed me about $170 with Fuji alconite guides. You don't need a rod wrapper just some notched card board boxes and a little creativity.

    • @jigslingersfishingchannel3713

      Itz Dr Chase You can find a used Calstar 90j for around 100 at tackle swap meets or the classifieds on Bloodydecks. There are deals out there. I picked up a brand new Phenix Abyss 1007 for about 130 a few months ago.

    Your a really small guy wouldn't be surprised if you couldn't bench 135. I would only fish that ulua if I were you. That 100jmag puts alot of pressurs on the angler cause the pivot point is all the way to the tip.

    How much does a white tiger 7x blank cost?

    • @jigslingersfishingchannel3713
      @jigslingersfishingchannel3713  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Zachary Katsouleas It depends on the gen and color. 1st gen will be the most rare and most expensive. 500 for that blank would be a good deal. Ironically, you can’t cast a 7x iron with it. It’s too light. But for smaller iron like a Tady A1 it’s perfect! Really fun rod to fish so it’s highly sought after.
      You can get a 2nd gen for a good price. Mostly because it’s the least popular. It’s too stiff. That tip doesn’t have much action to load jigs properly. It’s like a broomstick.
      The 3rd gen (current version) is great for casting heavy iron like the 7x. It comes in all sorts of colors. They’re usually 150-300 for the blank depending on colors.
      Hope this help you out in your search.

      @@jigslingersfishingchannel3713 thanks alot this was really helpful. Didn't realize the first gen can't even cast a 7x that's pretty funny. I'm looking for a 3rd generation blank. • @jigslingersfishingchannel3713
      @jigslingersfishingchannel3713  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Zachary Katsouleas If you don’t want to spend too much on your first jigstick I suggest getting a used Calstar gg90j or a used Phenix Axis 909hj. They’re great all around jigsticks for about $150 used. Then after you’re addicted to throwing the iron you can start collecting all the others. Lol

    if you look at the videos, you have the tendency to drop the rod to 3 o clock, parallel to surface. watch the deckhands they do not go that far down

    • @jigslingersfishingchannel3713
      @jigslingersfishingchannel3713  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nolan Oshiro No matter how long a person has been fishing, whether it’s a week or many years ago, there will always be something new to learn and room for improvement. So I’m always open to suggestions that makes sense.
      I’m curious to know why you think starting the backcast at the 3 o’clock position is not good. I hope it’s more than just seeing deckhands not do it.
      Just as an fyi I can cast from a starting position of 90 degree angle at 12 o’clock all the way to 3 o’clock depending on how much room I have. On a boat there’s not too many opportunities to start at 3 o’clock because of space. On a dock like this video I have a full casting lane to start wherever I want.

    • @zacharykatsouleas9956
      @zacharykatsouleas9956 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not the boats I go on. every deckhand I meet says to force the tip down they say to follow through till the rod is parrellel to the water. Watch the Western waters videos Evan salvay sticks that rod tip way down. Also Danny Wade who some say is the best jig fisherman in Cali ends his cast with the rod tip sticking down toward the water...it's just casting style anyway no matter what way you cast the jigs gonna go the same distance.

    • @zacharykatsouleas9956
      @zacharykatsouleas9956 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Or are you talking at the beginning of the cast he drops the rod down that far? Because hes casting on a dock so he's probably just gonna try to get as much distance as possible. But this dude knows how to cast on a boat. But your right having a big back cast on a boat isn't safe.

    • @nolanoshiro2083
      @nolanoshiro2083 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@zacharykatsouleas9956 yep sometimes no room for 9 foot let alone 10, definitely parallel on follow through. if you can cast without starting with the rod parallel you can do both. notice how deckhands have the lure hanging to their shoulder or lower when they start
