This might be the first time I've heard someone thank those who brought a ticket and told people to see it on the oscar stage. I was one of them. Edit: So it HAS happened before.
This isn't the first time, I don't think, but you're right that it's rare. And I love that he said that too. None of those people are rich and famous if people don't buy tickets to their movies.
It's funny too cuz that's what brought me to see it. A friend and a few ppl told me to go see it and I was amazed of how good it was. I cant wait for his new movie US to come out
that's why comedians are the most intelligent persons in the world of cinema if you can make people laugh that means you can do a lot of things better than any one
It's not a matter of 'smart', but simply 'talent'. Orson Welles, David Lean and Francis Coppola had little humor in their movies, but all three are among the all-time greats.
@@demh7823 Yeah, because people at the Oscars *clearly* know what they are doing. They nominate films; truly; for what they are rather than the constitution of social/racial justice themes they represent. *Cough* *Cough* Black Panther. Oscars are becoming more and more credible by the year!
Jordan Peele is such a talented artist. It's really rare that the same person can be labelled as the "Master of Comedy" and the "Master of Horror". Such a well deserved reward
It makes me sad Lady Bird walked away empty handed, any other year and it would have won at least two. But Get Out was definitely the deserving winner for screenplay.
i just tear up listening to his speech. i so desperately have stories to tell and the demons in my head keep telling me theres no point cause no one will care. this really inspires me.
So glad he won. I watched Get Out again last night for like the 5th time and there are so many subtle things that you miss the first time you watch it. Peele deserved that Oscar.
Tash21 because... you say it so? Na, I recommend you to watch it again, is one of those movies that the more you see them, the more you see a lot of things done perfectly (with every single thing as production design, cinematography, music, colors, and even costume design)
This guy def deserves it. The older Oscar panel who refused to watch it are pathetic. This movie was very shocking and great. Awesome how appreciative he is
just like the comments below say, the fact that he thanked people who came & bought a ticket was great, and I also just loved how he mentioned "shouting out at the screen", really allowing films to affect us. Get Out is such a unique & special film that I will always be able to debate for hours. this award was so deserved, almost better than getting Best Picture (almost).
I could not be more thrilled for an Oscar winner. Key and Peele were already two of the coolest dudes on the planet; their show was of unbelievable quality and genuinely *important.* And then this man goes and makes an absolutely incredible movie like Get Out. He's just a remarkably compelling creator to be a fan of, I think.
I love how you can see in the other nominees’ faces that they’re just genuinely happy that it’s Jordan. Maybe if someone else had won it would have been regretful for the rest of them but since it’s Jordan, it just makes sense.
This was one of those categories and years where any one of those nominees could have and would have deserved to win; they're all so damn good. And that just makes Jordan Peele's victory all the sweeter.
Huge honor for him as a first time director. The Oscar for screenplay to me would be a bigger honor than for director particularly if you wrote the screenplay.
