Vent seal, Dashboard, Wipers all refitted - 31 Land Rover Series 3 Project

- In this video I show you how I fitted the vent seals and geld them down while the glue dried. I fit the wiper motor and mechanism, I fit the windscreen spray jets, the upper and lower dash. But its not all plain sailing, Mistakes were made.

@@t.h.o.r. I'm liking the look of the "of piste" projects you doo too. I once tried to make an oil burner for the lounge with a sirlong engine sticking out the side using a Honda VFF400 engine. It so nearly worked but there was a little too much friction in the engine. So your burner caught my eye

Great vid, as it give me kick to hopefully start my LR88 RHD marine blue project, waiting for restauration for some years. At present, I struggle with my 109 ex-mod LHD 's screen washe jet on the passenger side, which is broken. I would like to replace both of them with stainless steel aftermarket ones. Do I have to dismantle the complete dashboard or only the top panel? I appreciate any hint. Regards Heinz
Many thanks for the comment. It's great to hear you're enjoying the videos. I'm afraid it was a long time ago and the land rover is back with its owner so I could say for sure. Certainly start with that plastic upper dash panel and see how it looks in there
Did you recon the vent flaps & springs INSIDE the lower dash?
I had to have all of it apart during the project. I believe it was all it pretty good shape so will have just been cleaned up and refitted.
OK, thank you. I have a replacement because the seawater had done for mine (UN Somalia posting) and the springs need changing. Awkward.@@lozl

@@lozlIm about to start fabricating an entire lower dash- starting with the galvanised wrap off a hot water cylinder!
Good to see...just putting a S3 bulkhead back together on my 109 having had it galvanised...I think you might have put the O/S wiper spindle back on upside down... They should both be opposite ways up so the wipers spin opposite directions... Thanks for sharing...
I see. This makes sense this will make it look a lot more sensible. Can you confirm this is the case on all land rovers as this is the way it came apart.?
I've just rewatched this video again. I cannot see that I took it off the old bulkhead where it was fitted as you describe it should be. Then I refit it wrong. I hold my hands up, my bad! I'm going to have a go at swapping this back tomorrow morning.

@@lozl Just seen your last 2 messages: I think only like this on S3 and maybe late S2. On defenders they go the same way. You can see it in the parts book. All the best. Just seen how many videos you've done...lots to look forward to at some point. All the best.
