I have to say this one is my favorite of all the streets of rage series. I also like to give mad props to the person who was playing this game. Not only they made sure the character they're going to be chosen (Blaze) had enough lives, they also changed the game level to hard, and they managed throughout the entire game to keep it at 4-7 lives. Now to me that's skill. I remember I couldn't even get past stage 6 while the level was on easy...lol
+LaShonda Jones Streets of Rage 3 is harder on normal than Bare Knuckle 3 on very hard. I beat Bare Knuckle 3 on very hard without loss of life (and it was not easy especially at last levels) but I played on emulator, I never played on real console. I prefer to play on emulator because then I can use hacked ROMs and I know how to disable this awful music saving game sounds by the way (it is quite complicated but I can give link to my hacked ROMs without music).
+LaShonda Jones By the way, Streets of Rage 3 ends on fifth level (after beating Robot X) if you choose easy difficulty. Difficulty level in Streets of Rage 3 is ridiculous, even on easy game is harder than Bare Knuckle 3 on normal.
They also changed the story. In the Japanese version, the USA is in danger (not just the city), and the guy you're supossed to save is not the "police chief", but the president himself.
what? SOR3 is the worse of all series. I think SOR3 and sonic and knuckles are where they started to use part of the sound chip for game logic processing. making the audio sounds awful
Notice how Streets of Rage 3 has basically the same realistic art direction as the one in Golden Axe: The Revenge of Death Adder, I bet same devs were behind this game look. They like a siblings... And they kinda are. Isn't this just fascinating?
Would it blow your mind now to learn that the games were made by completely different teams and completely different people? Golden Axe was created by Team Shinobi and the main designer was Makoto Uchida, while Streets of Rage was designed by Noriyoshi Oba and Sega CS. If anything you can see the resemblence between Revenge of Shinobi and Streets of Rage because both games were designed by Oba and had the same graphic designer: Seishi Atsumiya.
I love how in the intro Blaze explains "Adam is too busy to help". They couldn't have come up with a better excuse than that? They make it sound like he's off at a Knicks game or something.
I finished Streets of Rage one and two but was never able to beat this one! I favoured Alex Stone but I felt that a lot of his moves had been badly nerfed in this game and the classic technique of holding an enemy frozen by steadily punching them no longer worked either! they really ramped up the difficulty in this edition
I look through the comments and see a hater with his own channel on here trying to spread his garbage comments about this awesome gameplay. Lovely anyways I love the streets of rage series and the third was definitely the hardest. Debyaka is a hater and doesn't appreciate good footage
This game's plot is heavily edited from the Japanese version. In that the plot revolved around some fictional substance that was used to make bombs and Mr. X trying to start a war.
What ever happened to Max Thunder from SoR 2? You see him with them in the last photo with their backs turned, but he wasn't in the storyline of SoR 3 whatsoever. Lastly, I think SoR2 had better graphics and music. Just my two cents.
The censorship isn't as bad as the screwed up difficulties. For the US game they turned the difficulty up, so what is normal in the US is Hard in the original version. And the hard difficulty is actually incredibly difficult, while in the original it's challenging but not that insane.
3 years later I come to tell you (late though) that Xbox 360 has all 3 (yes, in a single pack) of these at the arcade section. Worked amazing, the net play is quite dead though, waited around two hours for player and the game was little laggy. (though you can wait in que and play the game itself at the same time)
1:32:36 - ? (On Hard? But you couldn't evade being thrown by holding ^+C before you land on the ground? I never get hit by a throw, yet you could still finish it on HARD? I don't get it.)
Used to ave n play all 3 streets of rage bk in the day, me n ma pal used to complete every game constantly good fun, got all 3 again on sega mega drive collection awesome for ps3
+Norman Bates I agree but music is equally lackluster, fortunately I found the way to disable it with programmers tool called hex editor (I do not recommend to try it if you don't know what you need to edit).
Blaze Rhodon Self-impossed challenge are redundant, pretty much any game is challenging if you do pointless limitations like no-damage/no-death, that's why these games have limited continues and diffculty options.
+Marcel Weber Briganty: The Roots of Darkness for NEC PC-98 computers is much harder and enjoyable than Streets of Rage 3. In Briganty there are no continues and amount of lives. If you die game is over.
@Adam, agreed. With that, and the extra boss, and without the female enemies skimpy outfits being censored, Bare Knuckle III is absolutely the one to buy.
This game is SO hard! It's simply impossible! the Japanese version is easy, but they did EVERYTHING they could to make it 50x harder when they brought it to the west!
Okay been curious of how you recover yourself from being tossed XD That is the only time is where I literally have trouble in this game, is when the enemy grabs me and then throws me over their shoulders. I can never figure out how your suppose to recover from it, without receiving too much damage lol. Also, did not know the Weapons also had dash attacks when equip.
To avoid any damage when being thrown by an enemy, press and hold UP+JUMP from the moment your enemy throws you until you hit the ground. Your character will land on their feet sustaining no damage.
would... that work for a Sega genesis emulator? cuz... i'd rather use that for when i record my road rash 3 to put up on my channel than "easy video capture" i can't find out how to get audio and the vids i have up are silent.
I don't know if that was the purpose. But theres something about one of the enemies in this game. He's called Big Ben (or Bongo). He has red and green color palletes. he's wearing clothes similiar to that famous plumber. He could resemble Mario and Luigi and the fire which he's breathing, could be the refference to Fire Flower. It could be possible that was the part of Sega mocking Nintendo company back then.
No I don't think so. A fat dude with a white shirt and red shoulder straps does not represent Mario to me. Sega of America might have been a bunch of dicks when it came to calling out the competition but Sega of Japan who actually made the game never did anything like that.
i only have one question did all the character specails got stronger if they didnt die or just blaze? if so how did you do that move the dash attack i notice it changed did everyone get a new one or no?
Well I to tell the truth I never played Shiva on the console version just the emulated one which should be exactly the same... He spinning kick thing (Final Crash) I believe is the name of the attack you are looking for which is done by -> + A I believe. If you want a rom of the translated JPN version of the game let me know. Also I don't use Shiva in 3, the main character I use is Blaze. So as far as his move set goes for Shiva i don't know what to tell you maybe you got it wrong but maybe not
Its funny the whole "street life culture" theme of classic beat up em games doesn't even exist anymore. urban and inner city areas are safer than ever,
man your playing the poorly translated American version of this game? They screwed the story up so much its ridiculous. At least you picked the best character to play as in the game. As for beating this on hard you got some mad ass skillz.
Why wait for it to come into the mail when you can download it for Wii Virtual Console? Though I don't know if it's also available for Playstation Network.
i thought it was just me,this game is hard as hell to beat by urself,i cam beat 2 by myself but i go to the bulldozer stage ,this game was very diffcult still a good beat em up.i just got the old school retro trio system .
@shaunacena Super axel? Is there something I'm missing mate, how do u get super axel? I have completed sor3 with every ending including finding shiva and roo, whats the cheat for super axel?

I tried myself both version and in Bare Knuckle 3 Blaze rules as usual. Great longplay but in my humble opinion playing Streets of Rage 3 even on normal is pure masochism.
Agreed. Of the core 4 characters she's the best in my opinion. There's that exploit with the running sword attack as well which adds to Blaze's ability (where as you're running into the enemy, as long as you don't kill them, you automatically grab them and don't use any of the sword's durability bar). And if you catch the enemy as they're half onscreen, the running sword attack goes on for ages and does a lot of extra damage. I've always liked Shiva and found him to be the best character purely for that high kick attack.
if you have anymore question feel free tos end me a message and i'll be glady to get back to you ASAP. As for now take care and I hoped I helped somewhat.
I can only beat this game with Blaze since she's the best character in this game since the other three aren't that good to me. (Ignoring the hidden playable characters) This game is mad hard and you'll need serious reflexes if you want to beat it and get the good ending.
I'm pretty surprised that this guy can play this game on hard mode; normal mode is already a hard mode to me since you have to beat this game in normal mode or hard mode to get a best ending. In easy mode, the game will end after you finish stage 5. Sega deliberately taunts players by saying fuck you we're not going to let you progress any further if you play it on easy mode noob.
How you defeated the level 6 boss and especially level 7 boss... wow... you're the man dude. I defeat the level 7 boss by doing a trick where I kept jump kicking him until it dies. When I found that trick by myself, I was astonished XD.
man i found this game hard! me and my friend did 2 player and it was just so hard to complete. the kangeroo badies used to annoy me so much, and the clowns who whipped!

Streets of Rage 1 is the best, gameplay music everything )
Great play through tho!
i love u
is nice to see Adam for a few seconds even more he is just in SOR 1
Good Job!
Dont kill the kangaroo. Kill its master then you get to play as the kangaroo itself. Loved these kind of secrets.
AdzrenKolbenfaust bruce is stupid hard though and you could loss a life or two because roo can do hefty damage with his specials

I always liked how #3 was more fast paced
Streets of Rage 2 had the perfect pacing to me.
Bare Knuckle III shades it for me. And it runs in higher resolution than SOR II. Both epic though.
SoR 3 is a bit more hardcore. SoR 2 is more arcadey and the more fun game to pick up and play.
@@paulolameiras861 SOR2 is slow to me. Sor3 for is better than sor4 in certain ways.
@@rootykazooty351 Not sure what you mean. BK3 runs in the same resolution as SoR 2.

Very very awesome game love it all around...
Streets Of Rage 3 is a great sequel with awesome gameplay and nice soundtrack. Also, being able to play as Shiva is a nice bonus too;)
Mr. X - "That's where you're wrong handsome one."
Amazing game.
But North American release is a little bit frustrating
They also changed the story.
In the Japanese version, the USA is in danger (not just the city), and the guy you're supossed to save is not the "police chief", but the president himself.
And x8 boss's health bars on hard, wtf.
It sounds like she's saying "Silent Hill" when she does that sommersault kick.
Fyrst Lasst...I know right.
this game really is what the title says. RAGE
This game had amazing music.
check ot the music in streets of rage 1
and streets of rage 2's music was great too.
what? SOR3 is the worse of all series. I think SOR3 and sonic and knuckles are where they started to use part of the sound chip for game logic processing. making the audio sounds awful
Personally, I prefer Streets of Rage 2 music

It's oddly satisfying to watch.
There's a hidden money bag in the first scene of the game straight down from the starting area behind those crates
And also an extra life there.
2:20 In the first phase of the game, there is a life hidden behind the second box.
Lol. I started laughing when the player tried to make her dance in the club scene. 😂😂😂😂😂😂

Max mostly helped Adam in his assignment police so that's the reason why he wasn't playable
That bulldozer scene in Stage 3 reminds me of Taz getting hit by a coconut in the Bugs Bunny game "Bugs Bunny: Rabbit Rampage" for Super NES.
Looved the music.
Looved the combos.

I never understood 11:18. Why is that guy holding Shiva back?
Is there any reason that the animation isn’t as fluid as it was in streets of rage 2?
