- Aish baladi (local Egyptian bread) is a staple of the Egyptian diet and served with almost every single meal here in Egypt. Literally translated, "Aish" means "Life" in Arabic, and "Baladi" means "My country", but can be loosely translated to "traditional bread." Follow along with me to a local bakery in Cairo and see how this bread is made, meet the hard working boys and men who work here, and see how this bread makes it out to the residents and citizens of the city.

You shot this just before the weather become unseasonably warm! I so feel for these bakers working around hot ovens in the heat of Egypt. They are so hard working. I love this type of 'behind the scenes' content too.

It’s called “raddah” in Arabic. It’s basically wheat bran.
The powdered stuff?
@@Gventures yeah the brownish powdered stuff they sprinkle on the bottom of the pan. It also helps the dough not stick to the oven.
@@Gventures I found a middle eastern market that sells this Egyptian bread here in Tampa. It’s not as good as the ones you’ve tasted in Egypt but it’s as close as one can get without actually being in Egypt.

Lol no it is quite the opposite 😅People want to get married and have kids here. I am always being told "Inshallah you will have babies soon" when they find out I am dating an Egyptian and don't have any kids. I am totally fine without kids though 😆

Sweet guys, they don't have an opportunity to travel and see the world. They are full of curiosity around tourists.
Yes, count yourself lucky if you have the privilege to travel outside of your own country or even within your own country, as many people do not have the opportunity to do that here and in many other places around the world. I am very fortunate to be in a position where I am able to do this, with a strong passport and a strong currency from my native country. These guys were very sweet, and very hardworking.

I had a question though, why don’t most tourists film or explore parts outside of old cairo, like Nasr city, masr el gedida, tagamou, sherouk, madinty, obour, sheikh zayed, 6th October, new giza etc..
Area wise old Cairo is like 1/4, maybe even less of the greater cairo area. These relatively new parts house over 12 million people not to mention daily commuters.
Seeing only downtown neighborhoods does not nearly show the scope and contrast of the city.
coz the used to see the modern cities, they wanna the old one
and history.

It is located down a side street near Ramses Station in Cairo. But honestly, there are hundreds of bakeries just like this one all over Cairo 😊

@@Gventures 3 types of hot peppers, regular ones, basil, tomatoes, a few flowers, parsley roots, and soon some strawberries.
@@boby4751 Wow, those are some really good choices! I LOVE hot peppers. I wish I could grow a habanero plant here. The only spicy peppers I can find are some green ones that aren't even that spicy (by my standards) so I have to use a lot of them when I want to make something spicy. My sister is currently growing habaneros, jalapenos and ghost peppers. She likes spicy too 😅

I am not gay, I have an Egyptian boyfriend, who I have mentioned in other videos and who has been in several videos. I support the lgbt community and people to make their own decisions in life and love who they want, but I am not personally attracted to the same sex as myself, so I identify as straight. I can't imagine who these "people" are telling you I am, or how they would even know me. Anyone who knows me knows I have a bf.
