Hello, everybody I have got those one my VHS Express steam of the locomotive when I started 2017 was 5 years ago before for us I hope everything so a good time i can choose one black 5 LMS.
She was a popular loco on the mainline having hauled the royal train in 2012 for HM Queen Elizabeth II so now has the royal crown placed above it's nameplates but in recent years the loco has had numerous mechanical problems. Boiler issues popped up shortly after returning to service in 2016 and it later had to be withdrawn from service to undergo a large amount of repairs which in the end had to be done at Carnforth MPD. Once repaired it was a popular engine among the 10A fleet of engines but sadly it wasnt to last for long as since July of this year it's now out of service. The engine was once again withdrawn from traffic but this time it wont be returning to service until a full overhaul is completed as a crack has opened up in the firebox & other serious problems have now arrisen. With the 10 year boiler certificate also due to expire shortly the engine wont run again until a full 10 yearly overhaul has been completed. Very likely gonna be a few years till it does run again sadly as Carnforth is presently working on 34067 Tangmere, 44932 aswell as 48151 & very likely around the end of next year 45699 Galatea will be withdrawn for overhaul as it returned to service in 2013 but the ticket I believe began in 2012. I'm glad I managed to get haulage with 6201 in 2019 on a Cumbrian Mtn Express outing over the S&C and Shap.
That was a banking run up Lickey Incline, Lizzie was working it's hardest on that trip but the 5700's were on the back to ensure that the train did reach the summit without stalling. It's the same gradient as that between Exeter St David's & Central but unlike the gradient in Exeter is on dead straight track, even so an assising engine is required.
Did you copy this from DVD? I have a copy of this on VHS but have been scouring the world unsuccessfully for a DVD copy. I have the rest of the series on DVD, but this particular episode has proven frustratingly elusive. 😩
It would be good to see 45305 be returned to LMS colours one day to once again become 5305 and the same with 5407 as theres too many engines running in british railways black. What actually is the latest with 44932 though as that's gone very quiet.
Duchess of Sutherland is currently still on the mainline now operated with vintage trains
At present it's only been operated on West Coast run railtours but it will soon be working it's first tour under the new Vintage Trains TOC.

@@MasterMoyle yeah and I remember back in March 2012 I saw her being pushed behind by two panniers on one vintage trains tour

The state Lizzie was in shows that she is gonna need heavy surgery during it's next overhaul and it's gonna cost over a million to put right.
