The music video was shoot in 1999 in LA, it was the last single from her second official studio album "Dónde están los ladrones?". It's a tribute to her Lebanese roots with Latin pop/rock influences. It could be translated as "Eyes Like Yours" and it tells the story for a girl looking for a man and his eyes, traveling for all over the continents and oceans. In the song, she sings in Spanish, and in Arabic closer to the final chorus. There's a english version included in her third and first english album. This song was a total success in Latin American at time. THANK YOU FOR YOUR REACTIONS GUYS!
I remember falling in love listening/ watching this for the first time in Malaysia during the 90's. Instantly fell in love with Shakira! especially this fantastic song!
Ojos asi is from her "Donde estan los ladrones Album" released in 1998. She was 21 years old by then. This is one of her biggest hits ever, specially in Latinamerica. Her live performances to this track are all different and so epic.
This song is 1989 the song is part in Arabic and Spanish a fusion of Latin Rock and Lebanese music. It's not Cap a Shakira is totally mesmerizing and the lyrics of this song is so romantic.
So good song , I love the Arabic music on it combined with Spanish … she was so smart to mix cultures from her beginning as a singer . ❤having roots from different countries makes you so rich ! 😊
Eyes like those would be a more accurate translation to English but in “Eyes like yours” is the name given in the English version of the song in the Laundry Service album
It wasn’t green screen, she filmed this video in the LA River in October 1999, the crowd is really there. If you pay close attention, behind the big green eye, you can see part of the bridge.

This song is part of her album "Dónde están los ladrones?" that came out in 1998, but this single was released in 1999. She has Lebanese ancestry on her father's side, whose last name is Mebarak. I think her grandparents were Lebanese.
Nice reaction! This song is from her album DELL (1998) and about the rhythm of the song.. yeah shakira is latina, but her father was the one who taught her about his culture and heritage because he comes from the lebanon specifically his family, so her grandparents and other family member are lebanese, and she still has family and friends in the Lebanon, so this song has those music influences in a way of paying homage to her ancestors and friends, and it is a huge hit in Spanish-speaking countries. love the video and the song super catchy
People went wild when they heard the intro to this song during the Super Bowl but she never sang it. She just went to the belly dancing with the rope. I would have loved to have heard it.
Y pensar que para nosotros la mejor época de Shakira en su calidad de canciones fue la de los 90 y el mundo ama Waka Waka que es una mierda de canción....no saben nada!
Así refers to the shape color and expression of somebody’s eyes in the song the person has eyes of very dark color she relates to the eyes as being black in color😊
She is half Lebanese and her mother is from Spain ( Columbian). Song is eyes like this! Yes late 1990s different Shakira then the American version she turned into unfortunately
She speak 7 languages . Arabic too
She is fluent in Spanish Portuguese English and Catalan that's all

Shakira's dad is Lebanese and her Lebanese grandmother taught her how to belly dance.

They added an extra dance beat to the video mix fyi. The album version and unplugged version aren’t as overproduced (and much better for it imo)
Totally, I prefer the album version way more than this mix they used for the video.
Poem to a Horse para otra semana de shakira please. Tiene q escuchar su versión rockera.
One of my favorite songs!

She was so young here but her vocals are very raw. There’s an English version called “eyes like yours”. You can understand the words of the song.
This song is part of her album "Dónde están los ladrones?" that came out in 1998, but this single was released in 1999. She has Lebanese ancestry on her father's side, whose last name is Mebarak. I think her grandparents were Lebanese.

"Eyes like that" is more accurate to ojos así. Eyes like yours is "Ojos como los tuyos"
Nice reaction!
