This musical collaboration comes from Beyonce who has always admired Shakira and as she has said on several occasions, she has been inspired by Shakira, evidenced in the importance of dance in the projection and artistic distinction and the sounds of the Middle East as she does in Babyboy or Nauthygirl. In this song you can mainly hear the influence of Shakira's music in the pop universe from the Colombian cumbia, the clacqueo of Hispanic music to the sounds of the Middle East. Beyonce has always highlighted the feminist message of empowerment and union between women and here the theme is essentially the union of two women deceived by a man, they are projected with a marked similarity in all the scenes that look like the same woman, it even looks like a forehead to the other as if looking in a mirror, a clear reference to the fact that they are all one, and that they must unite and support and forgive each other... The end in a storm they unite in the most difficult moments they dance together to the same rhythm and each one in its particularity but in the end they are one... Simple but loaded with messages.
They really do have a resemblance. In the behind the scenes footage for this video they discussed how they played on it during the belly dance part of the video.
I remember as a kid about 12/13 confused with pictures of shakira and Beyoncé in gossip celeb mags, also when I 1st caught baby boy vid on tv was at the dance break part, I thought it was shakira new music vid at 1st until it went on
fun facts on the making of this song they said people overseas would confuse them of being each other and looking alike which is how the ideas started make a song together
Y’all should definitely watch more Beyoncé (I know y’all have done her before!) y’all should do her recent stuff like america has a problem and heated !
I think they looked similar for the purpose of the video with the hair and clothing due to the theme of the song being about coming together rather than against each other with the same cheating man. Probably meant to show them as being one and the same in this context. and the coming together as one. great catch!
Appearently, Beyoncé learned belly dancing from Shakira specifically for this video. According to Shakira, she was a natural at learning it - but she obviously wasn't quite as good at it as Shakira, which is why they did the constant switcha-roo in that one scene. Also: Shakira aggressive "attacking" that wall is still . . . wow . . . incredibly aggressive sexual energy right there.
Stop lying! They did the switch thing because the entire objective of the song and video is a man playing both of them they just happen to look similar. The video was art that told a story, has nothing to do with Beyonce not being able to do the moves. Beyonce is a versatile dancer
@@ronnie6696Chill, I never said that Beyoncé wasn't a great dancer. But she had just started learning belly dancing for the video shoot from Shakira, so it made sense to show off more of Shakira's belly dancing compared to hers.
…what do you mean you’re not professional TH-camrs? 😜 You’re telling me this is actually amateur hour with band dude Mike and former part time Uber driver Joe?! There’s no way that’s true, you have too many accurate subjective opinions about wind and other stuff to be anything other than professionals. 😂❤️
Beyoncé just doesn't have the moves of Shakira. You watch every Beyoncé song and she dances amazing, put her next to Shakira and its like she is an amateur
Love how they continuously switch places during the belly dancing parts but it’s so seamless
it's actually Shakira's body as both people because Beyonce found the moves too hard.
@@laramorrison5973 yeah and they hid it so well!!
@@laramorrison5973 lies, both were dancing
@@Cjchillin5 not during that scene. They have spoken about it in interviews, Beyonce couldn't do those specific belly dancing moves.
Yet she was able to do it live during her Beyoncé experience tour?
They do look similar. Even Beyoncé was like “here’s my twin on set of the music video making of, as they hugged
This collaboration is iconic!!

The queen of wind is the swedish singer Carola Häggkvist, but you probably do not know her. She's been around since the earlies 80's

I agree because Beyoncé is in a class all her own!!!!!

Freemason's remix is the only version of this song worth listening to.
