I've had alot of talk therapy since 25 yrs now 63 yrs for childhood physical and verbal abuse trauma from birth till I left home at 19 yrs. We all lived between flight/fight and frozen every single day. I started therapy again at 58. This therapist really helped me get in touch with my inner child at various ages. It really brought out alot, but I started to feel unexplainable rage months afterward. It took me awhile to recognize it was raging anger. I did bring it up, but nothing resolved it. I'm so glad I watched a show where Dr. Gabor Mate spoke about body trauma. That brought similar channels up, yours being one. Now I know this is the missing piece. I'm not able to take your 21 day course at this time, but at least I now know why this anger is there and how it can be resolved. Thank you, thank you. Praying for everyone to heal. ❤

      @Prince_Sheogorath 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

Gabor Mate still ignores circumcision, male genital mutilation, as preverbal somatic trauma.
So many somatic therapists won't take a stand against what they know is highly traumatic and sexually damaging and degrading.
Americans have mutilated baby boys' genitals for over 70 years.
80.5% of American men have had healthy erogenous tissue from their penis cut off at birth.
      Is that freedom?
      Circumcision is male genital mutilation.
If you're against harming children, you should be against baby boys being strapped down to circumstraint tables, gagged, and having the most sensitive parts of their body, their penis probed, peeled back and sliced off.
Europe and tha majorit of the world denounces male genital mutilation.
But Americans are still stubbornly mutilating over 1 million boys a year in the USA alone.
The body stores the trauma via survival stress physiology of the nervous system.
Look up Somatic Experiencing and Irene Lyon for more info. She is a practitioner that will give you all the info on Polyvagal theory and how trauma is stored in the body with references, books and other supporting info from dozens of other practitioners and researchers who have hundreds of other citations themselves.
Somatic Experiencing and the somatic modalities of psychotherapy in general have been the most effective way for me to deal with trauma and actually release it and teach my body that it is now safe for it to truly get out of flight fight freeze to begin to actually rest and repair and heal.
Chronic illness is most often just trapped trauma to the point where the body can't keep up with repairs so it looks like disease. Of you're in fight flight freeze, you don't repair and recover properly.
This is why people with more adverse childhood events have much more chronic illnesses and symptoms.
Preverbal somatic trauma is real. Before you can speak and consciously recall memories of the time when you were a baby, you can be traumatized because you can feel pain and threat if you are not attended to by an attuned adult. This puts you fight flight freeze, but since you're a baby you cannot fight or flee, you go into preservation mode and numb out and disassociate.
What we do to babies matters.
Think about circumcision. Male genital mutilation is the en masse sexual damaging and truamatization of over 1 million boys a year in the USA alone. 1.4 million in 2022 in USA alone.
This is a human rights violation that traumatizes the baby boy.
Men don't even have rights over their own cocks, and they deserve the basic human right of all their genitals.
If it is not a life saving procedure it is mutilation.
Normalize NOT cutting up your sons' cocks, America.
Normalize men owning their own cocks, and not having their cocks be public property of their parents and America.
Circumcision, male genital mutilation, is immoral and disgusting.
Most Americans, conservatives or liberals, love to ignore this.
The USA mutilated 1.4 million baby boys in 2022 alone. Over 4,000 a day.
80.5% of men in USA are cut, no consent, they don't know how authentic sex feels like.
Then the USA jokes about circumcision in their crappy TV shows and movies.
Only a slave would joke about his own violation and the violation of other baby boys.
Christians in your country can't read the New Testament properly, it seems. Apostle Paul calls circumcision mutilation and emasculation.
Foregen is a biotech company that is fully reversing circumcision with regenerative medicine. This is beyond foreskin restoration which doesn't bring back the inner mucosal lining, Meissner's corpuscles, fine touch receptors, and other musculature like the dartos muscle.
Over 6500+ species of mammals have foreskins. That isn't a mistake. Do animals take better care of themselves than humans?
Europe knows better, Japan, too...the majority of the world, in fact.
His penis is his own, it's not the family penis.
To deny any of this is to be emotionally avoidant, willfully ignorant - and from ignorance comes acts of evil.

I sm also 63 yrs old, i attend Counceling. Several months into my therapy i have developed anger, feeling anger, hate and rage toward my childhood and my adult abusers. I do not understand where all of the rage is coming from and why now. Weird !!!

@@carolmccanse4468 Your on the right track and things will get better. It's all the feelings we suppressed as defenseless children. All the feelings we explained away, hid from, were ashamed of, you name it. The good thing is we are adults now and we can now deal with them. And then send them away. One thing I have to remind myself of everyday is, "I now get to be happy, joyful, expressive". I am all those things, but some days that old gloominess thinks its still welcome. I have to chase it away. All the things I couldn't be around my parents. I refuse to be controlled by my past. I've grown myself up to be me, not what my parent's said I was. Keep up the good work. Life is good and I treat myself good without allowing guilt in.

This is what triggered my own fibromyalgia/CFS. I felt like I was walking through a dream for a year afterward. I blamed myself because I "let" it happen over and over again from the same authority figure. But now I know that my body was just trying to keep me alive. Your videos have helped me understand what ACTUALLY happened in my brain, and now that I have this awareness, I feel like I can prevent it from happening again because I can recognize the sensations of freeze/fawn in my body.

You. I literally cannot thank you enough. My main modality is freeze/fawn, for 52 out of my 54 years. Once triggered it explodes in either flight/fight with massive rage boiling over either in the moment or after "flight". I am going to dig deeper into your videos, this is my first video with you! I am fairly confident in stating that you are not only going to change my life, you are quite literally going to save it. I am not living. Thought I was thriving. No, I am not. I am a high functioning survivor. So much gratitude!!! See you in the monthly Saturday group. (Melanie)

Wow, I have listened to this video 3 times now bc I'm learning so much, remembering so much and understanding so much about what I've been experiencing in my body over the years. I have so much more understanding of the complexities of how my body has adapted to my past experiences. I'm getting to understand and connect with my body on a much deeper level. Thank you for your work Irene. This is powerful and important work. I have been slowly going through SBSM and have been trying to be okay with my slow progress. Im realizing that titration is extremely important for me.

Thank you SO much for choosing to reshare this old video. I realised as I watched it that I had actually found it last year and was very interested but my body said 'no way!'. I'd already spent enough time learning from Irene to listen to my body. I clicked away and forgot it existed!
This time I was interested and ready. I watched it in two big chunks over about a week and was able to stay fairly regulated throughout. And loved it!
It just goes to show how much more nervous system capacity I have now compared to 9-12 months ago. And it's a testament to doing this healing work in slow, steady, gentle, consistent way.
Thank you, Irene and team. I so appreciate the reshare.

Years ago, I was in the middle of a shiatsu massage when the therapist touched my thigh. In that instant, I saw my dad touching me there. I just froze with the shock as it came out of the blue. I also sometimes get a strange sensation down my right arm (im right handed) where it just feels uncomfortable and I have to shake it. At the same time, I also want (and do sometimes) say 'get away from me'. Ive never heard anyone talk about anything like that before so I don't feel quite as barmy now.. 😏

You mentioned that if we are listening to this and we feel a tightening or like we are shutting down and getting sleepy, it doesn’t mean necessarily that we have hidden memories of sexual trauma. It’s very interesting because a couple hours ago I tried meditation to recall repressed memories that I know I have…and I felt all of this. So drained and sleepy until I had a good cry. No actual memories yet though.

Jin Shin Jyutsu is how I help to facilitate the release of denser frequencies on the physical and nonphysical levels. I see the energy moving between the brain and nervous system. I’ve devised methods to guide clients to shift out of the brain “driving” the nervous system to the brain being the tool that focuses our higher intelligence to discern messages received from both the physical body and the nonphysical (mental emotional energies) to come to the state of inner peace. Of calmness and stillness.

I am so greatful for your work Irene, even if I can afford it. I really want to increese my capacity, but it is so difficult alone at home everyday with pain, without friends, famliy or the ability to go out being overly sencertive to literaly everything.
I grew up in a cult, where I was not alowed to have my own feelings. I was tought to sexualy please all men from the age of 6, and that this is the only way to receive acceptance.
This explains why I don't have the capacity to have an orgasum. Have had four miscariges and never feel safe or loved as I don't know what it is supposed to feel like.
I also keep attracting sexual abusers in my energy where I don't have the capacity to know what is safe, when not to allow them in my energy in order to protect myself which is quite terrable. I get numb when being abused. I feel I need protection.

I am a highly sensitive person and lately I have been thinking about how my father took me to my bedroom and took off my dress. I remember hanging unto the bed post and then I left my body. I don't know what he did but I feel asleep and woke up hours later. I have always hated him and he avoided me all of the time. When I was dating a man I loved at age 18, He stood outside his bedroom with my mother and angrly called me a bitch in heat. I shut down and went to my room. I soon left home away from him and that house. When I saw him years later in his cofin, I wanted to punch him.

Do you have any video specifically about males feeling unsafe sexually eventhough they can engage sexually?
If u don’t yet, can you please please bring awareness. Why is it only spoken about women. All over I hear that women are slow and need safety before sex. What about men or women in overdrive.
I think men can feel just as unsafe sexually they maybe just have as different safety mechanism of sympathetic mode and females tend to shut down. I can’t understand why nobody talks bout this topic of engaging sexually from sympathetic stuckness. Both seem same unsafe and stuck in survival mode.

Circumcision has been mutilating boys genitals for decades upon decades, for millions of boys in the USA.
80.5% of USA men are mutilated.

    • @IreneLyon

M Johanson, it sounds like there may be a misunderstanding here, that you may think that Irene is assigning blame or suggesting that infant should have been able to do something to stop what happened? If so, this is definitely not the case.
What she's suggesting is that when something or someone is hurtful to us, we feel this inside, we feel that it hurts, doesn't sit right. When we're very young, and at times even when we're older, this isn't a conscious knowing. Rather it's similar to the way that the body knows that food is bad for us if we eat something that's toxic or gone bad. I hope this helps to offer some clarity. - Jen from Team Lyon
