This is 100% my favorite Vervet Forest story. It broke my heart to see her so scared at first and running to be with humans.. your teams hard work and dedication to giving her the best life possible warmed my heart right back to being whole. So so incredibly happy for her. Thank you for all you do!!
Poor monkey . People just don't understand . If you love the monkey . Don't keep as pets !!!! Even us humans , need our own kind ..all animals do ..I'm so happy she found a family 👪 😭 💓 ❤ 💗 💕 Perfect choice for her..I wish a long happy life for her with James troop .. you guys do an incredible job, again thank you for educating me.
Thank You so much for sharing your stories about these babies. At first the stories start out sad and then in the end,the stories turn out to be a successful happy ending. All of you make it happen to give all of these fur babies a second life to be able to enjoy the rest of their lives. And these babies probably never got to see or be a monkey and enjoy themselves until all of you made it happen for them to enjoy life again.💗😊💗😊💗
Kyle, Eliza had excellent odds of being integrated with a troop because of VMF. Thanks to all of you who work long tiring hours for the love of these monkeys. Epic job of getting Eliza habituated to her new troop.
I love your videos. All episodes I have watched so often during the last year. They helped me through a deep crise in life. Thank you so much from Germany. This is a very great job at the sanctuary and you all do it with your whole heart. That comes over in the videos to me. It must be a great emotion to have one tiny baby in the arms. They are so beautiful and helpless. Thank you for giving them their second chance. Sorry for bad english.
Gosh that had to be hard when she would cry for humans not to go scoop her up poor baby was so scared I’m glad to see her not so scared anymore I am so glad to see her adjust & doing so well with the troop. That’s to funny that the guys who had her thought she was a male silly guys hu. Thank You for the video can’t wait for the next one❣️
Amazing patience with Eliza! It is good to know that being a pet didn't erase Elijah's sense of being a Vervet monkey. How much better a life she will have. 🐒❤
I can 't image how difficult that must have been for her, even if she hadn't been humanized it wouldnt have been quite as bad but still difficult. Great videoI am glad she is happy and finally with a troop of monkeys where she belongs :)
Thank you for your interesting videos and your extreme patience that you guys always display, but mostly, thank you guys for the wonderful care that you all give to these little monkeys that are in need! 💗 PLEASE, JOIN ME EVERYONE, IN SUPPORTING THE VMF, THEY NOW NEED OUR HELP! 🙏

You all are well educated and full of love. A perfect concoction for success in caring for these lovely living beings. God bless you all for your work and dedication!
My first reaction would have been to scoop her up and just coddle her. Hearing that she’s finally doing better, brought a sigh of relief. You guys are amazing and deserve all the support you can get. I just want to thank you all for giving me the opportunity to do something good for these wonderful vervet monkeys❣️🇨🇦
I'm learning as cute as monkeys are and as sweet as they are with humans it's very selfish of us to have them as pets. They need and deserve to be with their own. Seeing Eliza transition to being with all the other monkeys was fascinating. Thank you for sharing.

You guys are super in tune with these monkeys. Not only physical but emotional as well. You didn't give up on Eliza and keep her solitary the rest of her life. You kept trying with putting the least amount of stress on her, until something clicked, and worked. Amazing to see that. Thank you

That bath was hilarious. But i wouldnt exactly call that plastic container a tub. LOL.... guess that method is meant for tiny babes. Eliza was so sweet. I love how she trusted you so much based on where she came from. So happy that you were there for here. I wonder why the change in enclosures made a difference??
Kyle this was a great video. It is great to see how patient the staff at the VMF is with the young monkeys you are trying to rehabilitate into a new home. It must be especially difficult with a baby who grew up almost her entire life only knowing humans. In Eliza's case she was lucky that she was apparently kept by humans who did not abuse her. Do you see Eliza now and then in her troop enclosure? After a year has she integrated well. I wonder if the older babies like Eliza really do not bond tightly to an adoptive mom as they are not dependent on them for milk and she was old enough to forage and eat food you provide.
It’s funny abused children “ lunge forward” to redirect unwanted attention. It is instinct to do that behavior. Made me sad for her. Just as the other monkeys were put off by Eliza so are damaged people.😔
Glad it worked. She is such a sweetie that maybe there would have been some humans who would love to take her on. if it was hopeless. But glad it didn't come to that!
Are there just some monkeys who are so humanized that they can’t integrate with a troop ? What happens to them ? I think especially of monkeys who were You Tube stars and who have so much psychological baggage
Wow, all that damage done after only 6 months as a pet. Considering that SO many people give away pet monkeys to sanctuaries when they are several years old, assuming they can just be normal monkeys with their own kind, I'll bet that really most monkeys just can't assimilate then. All that pain and fear. So sad.
It's one of the biggest struggles we face. People get to a point where they can't care for their monkey anymore and they assume we are just gladly going to accept the monkey and they don't even try to pay the expenses of caring for it. You're right, it's sad how little people consider the long term affects of their actions and at that point its nearly impossible for most monkeys to assimilate into a troop life.
How difficult for everyone involved. This monkey was raised by humans, living in the human world - but she’s a monkey - she can never be truly happy with humans. On the other hand, not knowing any other monkeys, she didn’t know how to deal with them either. And I’ve got to imagine it’s difficult for the volunteers as well. You want to help her - but the actions you take cause her distress - even though you know it’s better for her in the long run. She runs to you for comfort - and you have to put her back in the enclosure. Just unhappiness all around. I’m so glad you all had the emotional strength, patience and resources to help her integrate with a troop.
I love animals and wanted a career working with them. Alas, health issues hindered such dreams. I still have a hope to help animals though. It is almost like a Make-a-wish foundation for animals. If I could have a place to properly care for them. It's animals that are old or incurably ill and have been abandoned for it. Animals that are in such a shape from abuse. Make life, not just comfortable but nice for them, for what time they have. Hopefully, I could afford to pay a vet to alleviate their pain and end it peacefully for them when it had to be. Sounds like an odd *dream* but it comes from having a dog that suffered an aneurysm. It happened in winter, during a blizzard that was mixed with sleet. It was days before we could get him to the vet to finally end his suffering.
I really like the video about the monkey girl Eliza - she is so cute...

No, I am not cryin....
Eliza: More bubbles please.
